The lightheadedness would get severe at times, even if it was almost a day since I last took the Bystolic. I also felt bad joint pain and gained a significant amount of weight during the month I was on Bystolic (about 10 to 15 pounds). I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks.
I have been having a constant chest pounding and pain radiating all over my left and right breast area, all tests done proved negative for heart condition but the pain rather than decreasing, seem to be increasing in intensity. I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62.
then put me on Bystolic, 5 mg, 1 x daily. I have been on the Bystolic for 3 weeks and the leg pain is back. Have appt with family Dr. tomorrow morning to talk with him again. I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
HI,I went back to my cardologist today because of my shortness of breath and chest pain and dizziness,,,he showed me the pictures of my stress test and he explained that the small portion that does not get adequate blood when stressed is not a serious thing,,,,but my heart rate problem,he gave me Verapamil sr to try this time 120 mg i have tried Bystolic and Atenol they made me feel very strange im so afraid this new med will drop my heart rate to much,,,,sometimes at night my heart rate is 86
My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand. If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area. The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing. I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.
thing with me when I told him about the weight gain. This week I am having a lot of unusual knee and leg pain and no one can say why. The pain only starts after I take my 5mg Bystolic tablet. I too gained 15 pds with no dietary changes. I joined Weight Watchers and an wasting money nothing seems to be working to lose the weight.
Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things.
Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
30), Glucose 120 (65-99), Total Protein 8.5 (6.0-8.3), Gamma 1.7 (0.7-1.5). On betablocker Bystolic for rapid heart rate.Mild enlargement of Left Ventricle. Mild sclerotic aortic valve. No alcohol consumption. All over joint pain. Female, 5"5, 222 lbs.Occasional shortness of breath. Possible mild asthma or COPD from PFT testing after a respiratory illness. One time elevated T4 for a couple of days. Thyroid in beginning of thyroid disease. Positive elevated thyroid antibodies. Fatty liver.
I have a diagnosis of Afib secondary to a prior case of pericarditis. Treating Afib with Bystolic. Last Tuesday developed bradycardia; heart rate in the 40 to 50's. Constant chest pain, spent night in hospital for cardiac work up which was negative. Now we are going to do EGD to rule out stomach issues causing low pulse but I am thinking my cervical spine problems (which have worsened) may be the cause. I also have upper thoracic pain. Could this be the cause?
This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do.
You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again.
My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
