Bystolic bp med

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic bp med

bystolic

Avatar n tn Particularly since the 10mg Bystolic tablets seemed to be the “sweet spot” in terms of tolerability. And the Bystolic worked very well for my BP. I am a 41 year old male.
Avatar f tn Bystolic is the only HBP med so far that doesn't give me severe nasal congestion. It takes getting used to. Insomnia and restless sleep was a problem. I took valerian and threanine and sleep pretty good. Tiredness was really bad at first, but got better. BP has not gone down low enough. I was at 175/100 at times. Now at 145-155/85-90. I need to do better with exercise and diet! Goodluck on Bystolic!
Avatar n tn K52, if you don't mind me asking, how low did bystolic cause your bp to drop? mine is definitely lower than normal, but I don't think it's at an alarming place right now.
Avatar f tn He continued having these episodes but they were less intense. The Bystolic started lowering the HR and BP too much and my husbands arms started going numb and tingling. Dr. decided to stop this med. In the middle of this they diagnosed him with sleep apnea. They started him on the CPAP. I thought this might be the cause....and would solve the problem. But is hasn't. My husband has now been going through this for 4 months.

214864 tn?1229715239 I took Bystolic for High BP for two years. I developed a blood clot in my leg. A trip to the hospital, removal of the clot and I have a-fib and heart rate dropping to very low number{lower 30's}. Now, the healthy heart I had is damaged from Bystolic. I am told I must have a pacemaker to keep my heart rate above 50 and so they can give me strong drugs to stop the a-fib. I have been to see my doctor very often to complain that I am unable to function because of fatigue.
Avatar n tn What could be causing this? Could it be the bystolic? My former doc put me on bystolic because it is not suppose to caused ED issues. Could it be psychological reasons i'm having ED? A combination of both psychological reasons and the Bystolic? It is hard for me to imagine that my ED would be due to low testosterone or some physiological cause. I am in excellent shape and after all I am young (27). I get health insurance through my new employer February 1st. of this year.
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar m tn that makes sense. the only good bp med that has worked for me was micardis. then my doc switched me over to bystolic and it's been hell ever since. would I be able to do push ups and sit ups with this high of bp? I was hoping to do some weight training but nothing too strenous.
Avatar m tn Is it normal to still feel fatigue after taking the bp meds for a few months? I thought the fatigue was supposed to go away after the body gets used to the bp meds???
Avatar f tn A week later the results came back normal and so he changed my bp med to Bystolic 10 mg. It was like a miracle drug. My episodes became far and few in between but my bp was staying real low so I would have to skip a few days meds and take them every two to three days. This worked for awhile but around the time I changed primary doctors it started back but heart rate was more of an issue than the blood pressure.
116881 tn?1189755823 In my case I had to opposite problem, I take BB to lower my HR, not my BP, but the BP went down too, and it made me prone to dizziness. This passed and now my BP is about normal. I suppose that could be your case with a too low HR, but I do not have any direct evidence..

Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
1243333 tn?1296446902 3mg, plavix, aspirin, carafate and dexilant, and a anti nausea med. some of which I take several times a day, some how I feel that my bp is reacting negatively to all the meds. I'm tried of them (Docs) trying to scare me at this point I'm just tired of all the dramatics, I know it is serious but I feel they are not listening, and don't know how to make them.
Avatar m tn I also felt bad joint pain and gained a significant amount of weight during the month I was on Bystolic (about 10 to 15 pounds). I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16.
Avatar n tn I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
Avatar n tn I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand. If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area. The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing. I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have tried atenolol, but makes me sooooo tired, I am also tired on Bystolic not as much. Could the Bystolic be causing circulatory problems? No edema to feet or ankles but, some to medial knees. Thank you. This discussion is related to Side effects of Bystolic.
Avatar f tn However when I first started taking my medication Bystolic 5mg my blood pressure start to go low around 116/69 so my doctor changed me to Lisinopril 2.5mg. Now I started to see that my blood pressure is 144/73 its been like that few a weeks but then it will go back to 123/83 every once in a while. I am concerned because I have read that high systolic blood pressure is usually found in older adults.
Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
