Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic blood pressure

bystolic

Avatar n tn The Beta Blocker Bystolic is to reduce the high blood pressure and the doctor feels that this alone is not enough so has prescribed the Carvedilol which is also a beta blocker to help reduce the blood pressure and for your problem. You should ask the question to your doctor so that he can explain the reasons for putting you on these medications.
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar m tn Normally I get 1-2 palps daily. Slightly concerned because it can lower your blood pressure to. My blood pressure is normally around 125/80. Doc says my heart is generally in good shape but I do have some "leakage". Mild case of mitral valve prolapse and slightly large aortic valve. Have had palps since 2005 but never have been put on medicine for them. Is this drug generally safe to use?
Avatar m tn The dr prescribed me Bystolic for my blood pressure and the tachycardia (fast heartrate around 133 after eating) that I was getting. What Bystolic does is it helps prevent irregular heartbeats by making your heart beat more slowly and with less force which reduces your bloodpressure. Nowadays my blood pressure is under control and I do not get the tachycardia anymore. Since taking Bytolic I was more aware of my "skipping heartbeat" than before.
Avatar n tn that's probably from the Bystolic getting your blood pressure down too low. Did you lose weight recently? Can you check your BP when you feel light-headed? Maybe your doc will reduce your dosage. Also, make sure the light-headedness doesn't result in a fall.
Avatar n tn Have a read up on cayenne pepper and HBP, they say it equals out blood pressure out, then you just stay on that, google cayennepepper( one wrod) for blood pressure, it will also clean out any plaque from your blood and look after your prostate, and it help your ED, all from one thing, cant be that bad can it. If not why dont goole natural ways to reduce HBP, there lots of infomation there on that. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again. My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
Avatar m tn Beginning of May – After a few days of this terrible chest pain and constant high blood pressure, I decided to take a blood pressure medicine called Intuniv that I had gotten before from a psychiatrist but hadn’t consumed for months. I didn’t know much about the medicine, so I took a 2 mg tablet of the medicine every night for a few nights.
Avatar n tn I am 71 years old. About 10 weeks ago my blood pressure went suddenly up to183/87 and went to ER. Doctors did CT scan, x-rays, blood work and found every thing normal. They just gave me anti anxiety medication and sent me home. Also me contact a cardiologist. The following week I was quite normal and my bp was never more than 130/80. Following week contacted cardiologist as a precaution. He suggested to take Carvidilol 6.25my/Lisinopril 5mg/Simvastatin 25mg/Aspirin81mg.
Avatar f tn The reason the doc changed the Bystolic to another medication is that he was probably afraid it was dropping your blood pressure too much. Blood pressure that is too low can make you feel very tired, shaky, doesn't deliver enough blood or oxygen to the bodies organs, and if it gets low enough can cause you to pass out. I Hope This Helps!
15256956 tn?1439425231 Aaaaah! I feel like a walking Irwin Allen film. 39 year old Male, overweight with high blood pressure (controlled), sleep apnea and under constant barrage of PVC's and PAC's. I'm 242 lbs. Back in 2010 I had a nuclear stress test as a routine investigation into my heart and it came back abnormal so off to the hospital I went for a Heart Cath. I was very much relieved when the Cardiologist there said my arteries were clean and normal. No heart disease.
Avatar n tn I also tried metoprolol which was eventually replaced by atenolol. Both dropped my blood pressure somewhat, but also lowered my resting heart rate down into the 40's during sleep. I asked my cardiologist about discontinuing the atenolol and he said to decrease the dose gradually. I have not taken any meds for the last week and my resting heart rate is now in the 60's or low 70's and my blood pressure has not changed that much.
Avatar m tn Bystolic made me gain weight, interferred with my sleep, made my legs swell, and made my blood pressure go up. After gradually withdrawing from it, my blood pressure went down again.
Avatar m tn Perhaps your cardiologist is treating high blood pressure, do you have that? Also, have you tried magnesium supplements to see if that helps with your PVCs?
Avatar f tn Mom is 87 years old and has high blood pressure (HBP) for many years, she is taking a few different medications to control her blood pressure. Her blood pressure has not really gotten better, but stable. But now, we noticed her bp is getting over 200 especially in the late afternoon or at night. Why? I am really worried. Doctor told her to take one additional Bystolic when the BP is too high. But this is not right.
Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
Avatar n tn ve also experienced some weight gain, higher cholesterol, and my blood pressure is not being controlled too well. I tried BISOPROLOL (ZEBETA) recently, Blood pressure control was much better, achy knees when standing disappeared and minimal effect on sexual function.
Avatar n tn My doctor put me on Bystolic(10mg) two days ago. My blood pressure was 150/80. Since I started taking this drug, I have had heavy legs, arms and felt light headed. My pulse rate has dropped and I feel like laying down all of the time. I had a sharp pain in my knee this morning but didn't think much about it until reading your comments. I have had the same cold feeling in my feet and hands as well. Thanks for your comments.
Avatar f tn I was taking the generic form of Toprol (?) for my high blood pressure, 25 mg and it was giving me problems after being on it for over a year. Horrible dreams, head aches/pressure, and pain in the area of my left kidney. The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
