bystolic

Avatar m tn I was put on an event monitor last Month and it was on for 22 days. At the same time, I was put on 100mg Zoloft, 2.5 mg bystolic and Xanax to calm me down. Well, My condition went from maybe 15 a day to 14,400 and it was all recorded on the monitor. The doctor called me and said that I'm having lots of PAC/PVC's and its nothing to worry about. Easy for him to say when i'm thinking I'm about to die.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
Avatar f tn The last was bystolic and cardizeam. The meds were not working and the side effects from the bystolic were horrible....The cardiologist took me off all meds. My symptoms are worse. I have now started fainting and very light headed. The palpitations are constant. I am always tired. Now I have a squeezing in my chest with pain. The cardiologist wants to do another ablation. He dismisses my pain as heart burn and Im telling you its not Heart Burn!
899454 tn?1295583938 Hi Ihatepalps2, Thanks for you quick answer. Maybe we are all heart brothers ans sisters...lol. I do that too. I also worry that my heart rate is too low. I also sit at a desk all day long. My heart rate can get as low as 47 bpm. Sometimes I have to check my pulse. So I guess my husband is right. I have to learn to live with my PVC's. I also have good days (no PVC's) and bad days (7 PVC's a day). I used to get PVC's once a year. Since 2 years ago once a month.
Avatar n tn I tried taking 1 1/2, one half in the morning and the whole one at night for awhile and I am not sure if it helped much. Here is the thing, I got the pvc's the last of Feb. and lasted 3 months and stopped the last of April. During that time I added the half pill. Perhaps I will try again to add the half and see what happenes. The pvc's stopped for one month and have started up again. I have not had any side effects from Toprol.
15256956 tn?1439425231 Aaaaah! I feel like a walking Irwin Allen film. 39 year old Male, overweight with high blood pressure (controlled), sleep apnea and under constant barrage of PVC's and PAC's. I'm 242 lbs. Back in 2010 I had a nuclear stress test as a routine investigation into my heart and it came back abnormal so off to the hospital I went for a Heart Cath. I was very much relieved when the Cardiologist there said my arteries were clean and normal. No heart disease.
Avatar f tn I have been having PAC's and PVC's for the last year and a half. Have taken Atenolol and Metoprolol SUCC ER. Atenolol did nothing for me, Metoprolol would help for a few days and then would have to increase dose. When I got to 125mg of Metoprolol, I had trouble breathing. Was switched to Bystolic, started at 5mg, then 10mg. At 10mg I could no longer feel the PACs or PVCs, but again was unable to breath.
Avatar n tn I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand. If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area. The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing. I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.
116881 tn?1189755823 Hi Guys, First off, I have HBP and take meds for it. I also have been diagnosed with PVC's and PAC's after wearing a 30 event monitor twice. I would really appreicate any input on what you guys think this may be. Sometimes, I wake up out of a dead sleep with my heart pounding and racing. When I take my BP in order to get my pulse it is usually around 125 ish when this happens.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar n tn I have a long history of occasional PVC's (25 years), have been seeing a cardiologist every 6 months for the past 10 years. I have a stress echo about every two to three years. I have probably had at least 25 or more EKG's in the past 20 years, at least 6 nuclear and stress echos, have worn Holter Monitors on 4 occasions and have been told that my heart is completely healthy.
Avatar m tn Hello there, I am new to this forum and have been reading it for a few days now. Hearing of other stories and problems has helped me relax a bit. My situation is as follows. I am a 30 y/o male 6"4 270 lbs not in horrible shape but not fit by any means. Last November I started getting "funny feelings" in my chest and after having my pulse checked by my wife and hearing the words "heart skips", I ended up in th ER.
Avatar n tn After several different trials, I am now taking 5 mg bystolic and no lisinopril and my body seems to have adjusted. While I am overweight, I did not gain any additional weight as others have mentioned. I am also not exhausted. I recently had blood work so we will see if it had some kind of effect on my cholesterol as others have had. I hope not. It was interesting to hear that someone else had the heavy legs because my doc seemed surprised that I had that as a side effect.
Avatar n tn Sorry i beg to differ w. no_fate. You need to follow your doctors orders to a T because he/she is the one that has done the testing for you and knows your body and non of us have seen your test results and i doubt few have a license hanging on their wall. If you have benign PVC's millions of people have them w. no issues and don't even know when they are happening. Of course a normal rhythm will return. Most people don't go thru these 24/7 they are kind of sporatic.
Avatar m tn probably depends on who you ask about the risk/benefit but if you read the expert forum here the dr's usually recommend ablation for >15% of total 24 hr hb...so if you're like most yours would be about 16,000 pvc's since the average heart beats 100,000 in a 24 hour period...
Avatar f tn I should have explained about the Cardizem ... He said I am taking it for my uncontrollable high blood pressure. The PVC's ARE torture for me as well. When it happens it does startle me and put me into a panic. I've had a few heavy duty ones too that sometimes makes me wonder if I'm going to make it or not. I am talking ones that have almost made me faint or black out.
363281 tn?1643235611 These last two weeks have been horrendous, it seems like the skips are getting worse. I can go for days or weeks without any PAC's or PVC's (the occasional one here or there). Then all of a sudden, they are back again. And the worst part is I can tell when they are about to it. Something just doesn't feel right and sure enough, they come. I can't put my finger on it. According to the Cardiologist I saw once, GP, and ER, I'm fine and they are considered benign.
Avatar f tn That's what what happened to me...1st dose of Toprol; even at 12.5mg I ended up in the ER with such a low hr/bp... I had an ablation; given Zebeta and no pvc's for about 3 months; then they returned full force, and I tried something else but my bp/hr stayed really low and I felt miserable - tired all the time, my dizziness & fainting increased and dr's didn't know why.
771756 tn?1240448076 I've been feeling my pvc's for years (since Nov 1999 to be exact) and like most people on here, I've had every test in the book done. While I am now convinced that I do not have any sort of heart disease, I am also upset that in the last three years or so, they've intensified and increased to the point that in recent months, I have been having them daily. I feel anywhere between 10 and 40 per day. On my last holter in Spring 2007, I felt only 10 but the holter registered 21.
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.
Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
