I have just begun taking Budeprion SR. 150 milligrams a day. The paper the pharmacy gave me said to contact a dr immediately if I got a sore throat. I have a sore throat, and I want to know if I need to stop taking the medication. On another website, throat irriatation is listed as a rare side effect. I called my dr, and the nurse looked it up and said that sore throat was listed as a side effect. So, I am confused. Should I stop taking the medication? Is this a dangerous side effect?

Are there any antidepressants that will make me more alert rather than sleepy and tired? This has been my experience with all the drugs I've tried so far. Budeprion being the last one and the worse cause it makes me so sleepy and lethargic, yeah too often I find myself sitting there as if lifeless, staring into space, feeling like a rock with no feelings or emotions...Are there any drugs that will give me more pep and energy instead of making me just wanna stay in bed all day?
I was on amitriptiline for 7 years and I am also taking 10-20 mg just for a week till the budeprion kicks in and then I will be off of amitriptiline. That was a real weight gainer medicine, I would have never gained 30 pounds if I had never been on that stuff. It was a good medicine if it was for the weight gain. I felt good on it and it helped me sleep.
I was prescribed Wellbutrin (buproprion) for smoking cessation and have been on it for roughly 3 weeks. It is the SR, 150mg in the AM and 150mg in the PM. I have also been on methadone for roughly five years and have been at the same dosage of 25mgs for over a year.
Once starting buproprion (i got the generic), the side affects were pretty bad. I felt like I was on amphetamines.
I am seeing one of only two headache specialists in my state for headaches which have been diagnosed as severe hypnic headaches (they wake me from sleep 2-3 times per night, and the worst lasts for 3-4 hours) for which I take nightly Indocin SR. Up until recently, the Indocin SR was working so long as I took it 2 hours before bedtime.
Does anyone have any advice about dealing with this, I thought the weight gain, depression and mood where because I had stopped smoking (8 months) never thought it could be my thyroid or lack of it x

My hair is falling out. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to stop taking it because it has helped me quit smoking, gives more energy, and I've lost 20 pounds already.
BUT, my hair (on my scalp) is falling out/thinning. WHAT TO DO?
Last week my psychiatrist increased my Budeprion SR (generic Wellbutrin) from 300mg daily to 450mg daily. I got the script filled but when I got home and thought about it, I checked to see what is the max recommended dosage... It's 400mg daily.
I've been afraid to take that much, and you're not supposed to cut them in half.
Has any one else been on that high a dose of 450mg? Or have you heard of it?
I have never used wellbutrin for weight loss, but I was given a script for it once to help stop smoking. I took it for about 3 months; it didn't help me stop smoking, nor did it help me lose weight.
You would need to talk to your doctor about getting off it safely.
Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... I just want to be able to have a med to make my ADD manageable.
Just a general comment...I haven't heard good things about SR T3. For some people, slow release seems to turn into "no release". You might get better results with carefully timed doses of regular T3.
Am on Budeprion since April 1, 2013 because I had 2 deaths in my family and I was down so I went to the doctor and she put me on that am doing fine now but I today I just feel down and I was thinking about stopping the medication, I don't know if that causing me to feel down or what, and am not depressed I wasn't on the medication for depressed so is it ok to start to stop it or what?
I am not sure we can give you a good answer. I am on Adderall XR. I like it but there are some strange side effects. I know when I was on Ritalin, any form, I was mean, really mean. It was the same with Concerta. Stratara did nothing for me but there are many people that think it its the greatest thing. I have never tried this Vyvance. I have found the one drug that seems to work best so far.
IR niacin is in and out of your system quickly, allowing your liver to recover from dealing with it. The SR hangs around so your liver must deal with it for extended periods of time, not giving it much time to rest.
Obviously, you can already handle the IR so why subject your liver to the SR?
I bought some SR niacin but after doing some research and finding out about its effects on the liver, I wish I'd bought the IR.
