First off... Hi everyone and thanks for making such a great site! My aunt's doctor gave her Budeprion SR 150 mg to help quit smoking. A friend of her's told her that you're not supposed to take it, if you take any medications for diabetes. She does take a pill (not sure which and didn't think to ask her) for her diabetes and I told her I'd try to find out if it could cause any problems.

My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.

I have just begun taking Budeprion SR. 150 milligrams a day. The paper the pharmacy gave me said to contact a dr immediately if I got a sore throat. I have a sore throat, and I want to know if I need to stop taking the medication. On another website, throat irriatation is listed as a rare side effect. I called my dr, and the nurse looked it up and said that sore throat was listed as a side effect. So, I am confused. Should I stop taking the medication? Is this a dangerous side effect?

I realy want to quit smoking and it is hard for me to say no and put them down anyone have any advise on how to stop smoking.

I suppose there must be some research showing it helps people quit smoking, but it seems like taking a drug to quit a drug is a bit odd, especially this one, which can cause anxiety. Stopping nicotine usually makes people nervous, and this can make people more nervous. But what do I know?

Are there any antidepressants that will make me more alert rather than sleepy and tired? This has been my experience with all the drugs I've tried so far. Budeprion being the last one and the worse cause it makes me so sleepy and lethargic, yeah too often I find myself sitting there as if lifeless, staring into space, feeling like a rock with no feelings or emotions...Are there any drugs that will give me more pep and energy instead of making me just wanna stay in bed all day?

I smoked for 2 years. I know not a long time but this is how I quit. Ok I started just smoking half then I'd go down to a half of a half. I also chewed gum everytime id get an urge. And I wouldn't smoke that first one in the mornings. Id wait as long as I could then smoke. You could try eating sunflower seeds too. Hope that helps. Good luck! Princess.

10 a day is kind of allot, either way it's good you cut down if you were smoking more!! Ugh i quit during my 5th month I'm not proud if how long it took me to quit, I'm pretty sure only way to do it us to quit cold turkey...

m not a smoker but, When my mom quit smoking she did what my grandpa always said to do If you have a sore throat. It sounds nasty but my mom says works! And I know it works for a sore throat. You drink a tablespoon of vinegar and then right after a tablespoon of honey then drink plenty of water. The vinegar kills bacteria in your throat while the honey soothes it. Hope this helps!!

I quit smoking 5 days ago and I am feeling like my breathing is somewhat shallow. Also, my lungs feel like they are being squeezed, I dont really know any other way to describe it. Also, in my upper back area, pretty much opposite my lungs, hurts as well. Is all of these symptoms normal for quitting smoking? Hi Nirban I smoked when I was younger too. Here in the USA, we have a patch. That helps. Dr can prescribe zyban & that's supposed to help too. When I quit, I did not use that stuff though. This is what I did. I bought some straws. Then I cut them to the length of a cigarette. I took them with me, so when I felt like smoking I'd hold a straw like a cigarette. I'd even puff or draw a breath on the straw. Helped to relax me. I'd have something to do with my hand too.
