t worry too much. My previous pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage and started out with brown discharge, but quickly progressed to pink, and then finally red. With my current pregnancy (12w 4d) I had brown discharge off and on until about 9 weeks and my ultrasound yesterday showed a perfectly healthy baby. Unfortunately, if you are at the beginning stage of a miscarriage, there isn't much you can do to stop it. Keep an eye out for the pink and red, but don't stress too much.

My last period was 12/17/08, but it only lasted 3 days. My periods normally last anywhere from 5-7 days. I took a "cheap" home preg. test about a month and a half ago & it gave me no response (I believe it was a bad test). But with my last child I had a period the first trimester, and part of the second trimester of my pregnancy. And I've been having what feels like movement for about a month now. Not necessarily frequent, but at least once or twice a day.

I haven't really had spotting at all besides one day when I was only a couple weeks pregnant. I'm 14 weeks and noticed I had this brown discharge, which I'm pretty sure was old blood or something? Is this normal? I just find it weird because I've barely had any spotting and i thought it was way more common in the beginning of pregnancy. I have had no cramps or anything. Has this happened to any of you?

I'm having that too. It's my second child but the first time the brown discharge has happened so it freaks me out too. My doc said it's not normal, but try not to worry unless it turns into period-like bleeding and don't do anything strenuous. Get plenty of rest and don't stress. My ultrasound is on 10/6 so hopefully everything's ok. Good luck!

m just trying to remain calm and get through this 1st trimester. My doctor also said the brown discharge is possibly coming from a small hematoma that was seen next to the ges sac from my ER scan. But again, he assured me that everything would be fine. And that once a heartbeat is seen, the chances of a miscarriage goes down to less than 3%. Uhhh, I'm just trying to hang in there!

I did right about that time called the ob nurse she said brown is old blood and as long as there was no red then it was fine

I had similar spotting during my first pregnancy and now have a healthy 7 year old. This time at 6 weeks I haven't had any spotting at all and no nausea so far. I guess it's true what they say that every pregnancy is different. Spotting is normal early on.

t lose your mucas plug until the end of your pregnancy..I know a lot of friends of mine that have had brown discharge within their first trimester. I would mention it to your doctor tomorrow at your appointment, unless it gets worse or becomes with pain.

t remember this happening with my last pregnancy. But I know we all have discharge while preggers but here like every few days ill wake up and go pee and find some of discharge is light brown but still white ya know? Yes, I had brownish discharge on and off for the past 2 weeks. I freaked out the first time i saw it and cried the whole day. Then i went to the doctor and I got a bit more optimistic. My doctor said not to worry unless i also get bad cramping or start bleeding (bright red blood). She also prescribed me some anti-spasmodic pills in case i get cramps and some progesterone to help mentain the pregnancy since we've had so many problems and took us so long getting pregnant.

I had unprotected sex and I took the EllaOne contraceptive pill in the next 12-13 hours. Everything was fine I didn't get sick or anything. I took 2 ClearBlue pregnancy tests one, about 6 days before my expected period and one 4 days before my expected period. Both negative and I got my period on the day I done my second pregnancy test which came out negative. Everything was fine.

Hi. So Thursday I started with a very scant brownish discharge only when I wiped. It continued for 3 days on and off. Today it is reddish brown and a little thinner. And have noticed just a small spot on my underwear. I haven't had any considerable cramping, just.the occasional mild stretching cramps. I am 10w4d. I have my first prenatal checkup tomorrow and I'm scared that it won't go well. Could this be a miscarriage? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I had heavy period type bleeding twice now throughout my pregnancy and then Brown discharge. From what the doctors have said, as long as it's not red blood you should be fine. Brown blood is indercation of old blood. I had something called a subchorionic heamatoma (a clot beside the baby) nut everything seems to be fine now.

One of the common reasons is cervix irritation. Your cervix is extremely sensitive right now, so changes are the probe irritated it. This does not have a negative impact on your baby at all. It's also common after an internal exam.
