Sometimes its normal for woman to have this discharge. With my first pregnancy I had that discharge for my whole first trimester and the whole 3 months they had me on bed rest because my dr had said it was a threaten miscarriage. Once I started my second trimester the bleeding stoped and I had my daughter. Now am pregnant again and I started the same way with the brown discharge. My dr said it was a normal thing for me. I stoped spoting after 12 weeks.

Your going to experience cramping through out most of your pregnancy because your uterus is going through changes . As long as there is no BRIGHT red blood , you should be fine :) I had camping since the moment I found out I was pregnant . Of course it wasn't all the time that I felt it but the cramping was sill there. I recently stopped feeling cramps like in the middle of my 2nd trimester. Since your in your first , it's normal .

Yes my whole first trimester i had that discharge...now im 24 weeks. Try not to stress over it even tho its hard not to.

My last period was 12/17/08, but it only lasted 3 days. My periods normally last anywhere from 5-7 days. I took a "cheap" home preg. test about a month and a half ago & it gave me no response (I believe it was a bad test). But with my last child I had a period the first trimester, and part of the second trimester of my pregnancy. And I've been having what feels like movement for about a month now. Not necessarily frequent, but at least once or twice a day.

I had brown and bright red blood off and on during my first trimester. Doctor said I really only should be worried if there is clumps followed by cramping.

I'm having that too. It's my second child but the first time the brown discharge has happened so it freaks me out too. My doc said it's not normal, but try not to worry unless it turns into period-like bleeding and don't do anything strenuous. Get plenty of rest and don't stress. My ultrasound is on 10/6 so hopefully everything's ok. Good luck!

i've had the brown discharge now for a week and 4 days after my period and ive also started getting symptoms as if i'm coming on my period like sore breast and stomach cramps what does this mean?

I was bleeding in my first trimester and it was also brown with my second child and this current pregnancy, went to antenatal ward just in case but as they said it's old blood from my last menstrual.... They're more concerned if it's bright red blood which is more of a major threat of a miscarriage!

t lose your mucas plug until the end of your pregnancy..I know a lot of friends of mine that have had brown discharge within their first trimester. I would mention it to your doctor tomorrow at your appointment, unless it gets worse or becomes with pain.

m just trying to remain calm and get through this 1st trimester. My doctor also said the brown discharge is possibly coming from a small hematoma that was seen next to the ges sac from my ER scan. But again, he assured me that everything would be fine. And that once a heartbeat is seen, the chances of a miscarriage goes down to less than 3%. Uhhh, I'm just trying to hang in there!

Yes, I had brownish discharge on and off for the past 2 weeks. I freaked out the first time i saw it and cried the whole day. Then i went to the doctor and I got a bit more optimistic. My doctor said not to worry unless i also get bad cramping or start bleeding (bright red blood). She also prescribed me some anti-spasmodic pills in case i get cramps and some progesterone to help mentain the pregnancy since we've had so many problems and took us so long getting pregnant.

Hi i am currently 6weeks and 3 days my first and i have been experiencing brown discharge for the past week and the dr said its normal but i just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing it. I also get little cramps here and there but not major .. anyone else experiencing this?

I have had it go both ways. Brown discharge that was the beginning of a loss, and brown discharge (and outright bleeding) with my son who is just fine. The Dr.'s can't give you a straight answer, because in all honesty they just don't know. First trimester is so hard because everything is a wait and see, and that is the worst I know. The actual statistics are that 30% of women will experience bleeding in first trimester. 50% of those will have healthy normal pregnancies.

Yeah girl youre fine, I had brown discharge my first trimester of, then it went away..its just old blood I think? But your fine. You do get excessive amount the more deeper you are in your pregnancy..so start wearing some pads so you dont stain your underwear.

I am still bleeding, though it has tapered off slightly. Some days it gets heavy, some days I just have brown discharge. Has anyone experienced this? My doctor seems totally unconcerned with the bleeding, and I am freaking out. I feel totally depressed and cannot get excited about being pregnant, because I am so afraid something is wrong. To top it off, I do not feel pregnant at all, and have actually lost weight. I am so frustrated. I just can not believe that this is normal.

Hi there. Brown discharge is 'old' blood and pretty normal during pregnancy. I always had it after intercourse for example. I think it is nothing to worry about unless you have a ton of it and it turns to bright red.

I uave same problem brown and pink discharge doctors at hospital told me that it's normal in first trimester and only to worry if it's bright red and you have very very bad pain
