1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
Avatar n tn m in a restaurant or at a friends house I always elevate my leg. Elevation is the key to a speedy recovery. Hope this helps.
1196614 tn?1265075773 Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it and also they said that fibula bone does not support the body weight at all.
Avatar n tn Now, I have 3 blisters on my thigh and 1 on my leg. Could I have gotten it from her? How common is is? Is this the same virus that can passed genitally from human to human?
Avatar f tn (let me apologize in advance if this msg is jumbled, confusing, and my grammar is poor... some of my family members think the TV should be loud enough so the people in the house beside us can hear it) Hi everyone. I'm new to the website but thought it may be a great place to ask my question. Okay, so here's the situation. 8 years ago while crossing the street I was struck by a car driven by a drunk driver.
Avatar n tn The best comment came from my OT who looks at me from the day she first saw me lying half paralyzed in the hospital and says I have come a long way. She told me I need to look at my recovery from how much I have recovered rather than comparing myself to the day before the stroke. I haven't quite succeeded yet at that viewpoint.
279415 tn?1217371630 t hit my stomach at all but i was in horrible pain and thought that i had broken my leg. So once all of the medic's and EMT's where there the trouble was trying to get me out of the room and down the stairs, which at my house is VERY difficult. They didn't know how they were going to be able to do it b/c my stairs are so narrow and step that it left the stumped especially b/c they couldn't move my leg from the position that it was in.
Avatar m tn My 6 yr old female cat jumped from a tree branch about 5 ft high. She is always jumping up onto ledges or down from them, she jumps very high, always climbing trees, etc. Anyway, her front paw is now swollen and she will not walk on it, she limps all around. She does not seem to be in pain, she still goes up and down the steps and jumps on and off the furniture and beds, going to the food dish etc.

Avatar n tn I was given the choice to do a cast or metal rod with pins through my leg for a speedy recovery in witch i choose. It was put through the lower part of my leg down to my ankle Big mistake! I can't even walk a mile without my leg killing me. Hurts from my Knee down to where there is a small bump (feels like bone) on top of my ankle. I need to know if the rod and pins can be removed? If so how fast is the recovery and will the pain go away?
Avatar n tn Hello, My mother recently underwent bypass surgery on Mar 24,2009. Two days after the surgery she suffered a stroke. She had bleeding and swelling of the brain along with very high blood pressure. She is now out of ICU but is not responding very well. Her memory is okay but she is unable to stay awake...she is in and out. She can move her left leg and arm but don't have control of them. The doctors said it's because of the swelling and we are looking at months until recovery.
Avatar m tn As a result, I required nearly 10 hours of surgery to repair two badly broken legs and L forearm. During my recovery, my L femur was the most painful of my broken bones. However, since it healed, it has been the injury that has never caused any further issues/pain. Well, that is up until about 6 months ago when my femur started aching. Over the past few months, it has progressed to aching pretty much constantly.
Avatar n tn So we had the surgery, now a couple years down the road im very much regreting the surgery, i have pain from time to time in my leg and where the screw is at. Also only one screw was placed in at the top, should there of been another screw put in? Ive been having some anxiety about it lately and considering having it removed?? Also ive never heard of a 15 year old having this kind of surgery for a broken bone, was this an uneccessary surgery?
