I had a break up approx 6 weeks ago. I thought this was the gal i was going to marry. we were together for 2 years, at times it was on/off but never truly off. This time it is off! I know she has found someone else and i have not. I can not seem to shake the feelings of missing her, at times it really hurts. I have been divorced for 12 years. My kids are 18, 17 and 15. Their mother has quite a few mental challenges.
My ex and I split up 14 months ago and I really miss him. He has a new partner and says he is happy and it is working, but we still speak occasionally and he always end up saying he thought I was the one, but the timing just didn't work out with our schedules and work. We ended up holding hands and kissing a bit and he might be coming out with me next weekend to a work event. I really want him to leave his ex for me but how can I make him?

Break ups are hard and take time to get over. I'd try to read a good book before bed and be good and tired when you turn off the light so that you drift off straight to sleep.
Those you are closest to----------- like your parents, maybe one friend, and eventually your spouse----- those top relationships sit on the top. And it moves down from there. When you go through something traumatic, you have less energy to deal with those on the lower steps or tiers. After only two months, you can't expect to be at the top yet.
I'm sorry ;( my situation always goes more like: I get really frustrated and tell him I don't want to be with him or I want to have a little time off from each other and his reply is usually NO lol he won't let me break up with him hahaha, and he's always like no we're gonna make this work.
If he was the one, then why did you break up with him??? If he loved you just as much, he probably would've waited for you to get your education. Let's see.....a woman trying to "better" herself, what man wouldn't admire and respect that AND love you more for it?
Hi I'm 16 and me and my ex who dated for 8 months and broke up this past october(2011) have been doing this ridiculous thing since then. His parents did not like me which is why we broke up eventually after 5 months of him fighting for me. But since November when his next gf cheated on him he came crawling back but doesn't want to date. One day he'll tell me he loves me and wants to marry me after highschool( longshot I know) and the next hes saying he doesn't care.
Maybe you could get back in contact with your ex if your fiancé writes back to his ex. It's up to you, but that's what I would do. Perhaps he'd get the point.
Don't write back to his ex. She's not worth your time, and she's not your problem. She's your fiancé's problem, and he should handle that by consulting with and respecting your opinion about it, which clearly he is not.

We broke up and got back together many times, but the cycle of abuse continued and I felt trapped. After talking with my closest friends they told me to break up with him which I did. I always wanted to be out of the relationship. Now that I'm talking to a good guy and getting to know him, my fear is coming back like it does when I talked to other guys. I'm scared I'll like my ex or go back with him.
Pick yourself up and take care of the children and yourself. Any man that can just leave a woman doing pregnancy shows his character and he is not deserving of you or the children.
