I now use a foid journal app and make sure I get enough serves of vegetables, fruits, dairy, grains, and protein. I've learnt a lot this pregnancy and will probably keep it up when bub is born.
Avatar f tn Hello there, It's best not to buy any junk food at all. You have to stop cold turkey when it comes to binge eating. Buy healthy foods, lots of fruit and vegetables. Don't eat in front of the TV. I think that's referred to as mindless eating, junk food , example, potato chips etc. Try and drink lots of water. It's good for you, helps to flush out your system and it fills you up. My biggest problem was potato chips. I really enjoy the saltiness and the crunch.

Avatar f tn The advice given by your doctor seems quite strange. I wouldn't recommend eating simply 500 calories per day for a week and THEN eating 1500 thereafter. It is all about balance. No one (unless you've always done it) can go through life eating simply vegetables and fruit. It's good to have a balanced diet. Eat what you want to eat but watching the portion at the same time.

I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
Avatar f tn Try taking a 15 minute brisk walk before eating, then again about 30 minutes after eating. 5. Journal everything! What food you bought, what you drank, ate, did for exercise. By doing this, maybe you can see when youre most likely to binge eat. I'm telling you, it isn't easy... but it is doable. Track everything, journal it. If you have to have a snack, eat the healthiest, low carb thing available.

Every since my first day of recovery, I have been binge eating really really bad. I binge on sweets, carbs, and some salty foods. The only bad thing is the bread, which is always white bread, and the white rice -- whole grains are better for you and lower on the metabolic scale. But the way you're eating now won't work -- binge dieting is harmful and will make your weight yo yo up and down.

For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.

She also tries to eat very healthy, she sticks to fruits, vegetables, and organic food, and occasionally fish. But her diet is greatly lacking in variety. I think most days she doesn't even break 1200 calories, but i suspect she frequently falls far short of that amount.

I have a couple of mental disorders already that I am aware of such as agoraphobia, ocd, and possibly avoidant personality disorder. Sometimes I think I have body dysmorphic disorder as well but this is not something I have discussed with my doctor. He did ask me if I may have anorexia I just said no I don't like dealing with my problems.

Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.

I have even started eating in private but when I am around people I eat healthily. I have taken countless quizzes and researched this and I am positive I am at least addicted to sugar, if not food as well. I turn to both when I am stressed or just a normal day.

I am 6ft tall and never been "underweight." But in february I was 160lbs and now I am almost 200pounds. I cannot continue to "recover" while gaining weight like this. It cannot be healthy. Yet, I don't know how to lose weight now that I am trying to give up the one thing that almost heped maintain my weight. PLEASE HELP!
Avatar n tn Eating a balanced diet with vegetables juice does really help. Eating 5 times a day and working diligently on your core. Trying elliptical and working your upper body and core also helps.

For the last 15 yrs I have been on many many anti depressants, diets, diet pills etc. I have had pretty much binge free the last 2 years while I was on Effexor and Wellbutrin. I came into money problems and had to taper off them. I had totally forgot about my eating disoder....well....I think I thought I grew out of it finally. Since I have been off my pills in the last few months I hve started binge eating again.
Avatar f tn I decided to get v8 100% vegetable and fruit Juice to help me with incoporating vegetables in my diet..anyways today my sister in law who I do not like so much said if I don't eat more veggies my baby will be 9lbs or bigger basically saying fat ans overgrown.. it irritates me that she said it but is it realistic for me to just drink the juice or should I go buy some veggies no bashing please...
