i was prescribed more antibiotics by a french doctor when i still had the sore throat (he was not familiar with the biaxin xl) and an antifungal triflucan for the tongue, which he attributed to the antiobiotics. The coating is not really going away though, and while I did not take the full course of the new antibiotics, I have been taking the antifungal.
I know that oral sex without ejaculation is low risk, but is this coating a bad sign?
The doctor took blood and did a throat culture, in case I had strep or mono. Neither was present. BUT he gave me a different antibiotic for the sinus infection called Biaxin, for acute sinusitis, which has been working wonders after one day on it. But I just read that Biaxin is given to HIV/AIDS patients for Mycobacterium avium complex!!!! Is it possible that he did an HIV test without my knowledge and is now trying to treat me for it????
My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am.
It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down.
I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue.
Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?
I have a bunch of symptoms that im afraid may indicate something serious. blotchy rash on my neck, chest palms and groin; loss of sensation and discoloration of my penis; cold sweats; constipation and difficulty urinating w no pain involved. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for sometime now but just started taking biaxin yesterday. Not much improvement..could I have some kidney or liver issues due to years of cocaine abuse?
just one last point, the biaxin and amoxicilian were taken at different times around 2-3 months apart. Biaxin was for a Resp infection and the amoxicilian was for my saliva gland issue. These all have been taken throughtout the last year since exposure. Would Biaxin or amoxicial cure syphlis by themselves?. no more questions from me so I would like to thank you for your time!.
Because my bronchitis had gone away only to develop into a sinus infection, I was prescribed Doxy 100mg / 2x / day for five days, which I took religiously according to instructions.
Now, 2 weeks after appearing, the bump is still there. Foolishly I keep squeezing it; on the days when I don't it shrinks with a (closed, not ulcerous head). I'm going to leave it alone from now on, but here is my question finally:

what are the chances its hiv i know oral thrush is pretty unique as far as symptoms go: if it was an infection why didnt the antibiotics clear it up
i tested negative a few days shy of the 'week mark
the worst part is that i recently started a study abroad program in paris and this is ruining my trip.
Well this is what's weird about it: The lesions come and go. The drug is Biaxin XL. I've taken plain Biaxin before at least twice, but not this XL formulation. I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to some other part of the pill that's not the drug.
allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search.

Was in ER yesterday with chills, low grade fever (had for weeks), COUGH (had for weeks). Chest x-ray ok. Told to take Biaxin (2 500mg pills once a day for 3 weeks), along Prednisone Pack, and an inhaler
CT Scan results:
1. Small focus of soft tissue density at the anterior left ethmoid sinus.
2. Mild mucosal thickening at the inferior left maxillary sinus and minimal degree of mucosal thickening of the superomedial left maxillary sinus.
I was told I had high blood pressure in December of 2007. I had a sinus infection but did not show any of the usual signs at the time. I was placed on Toprol XL 50mg. I began experiencing very cold feet and hands, had panic attacks and feelings of suicide. I have been very depressed since I started using. I had started walking and had gotten up to 2miles a day. I was just on a 14 day course of Amoxicillin 750mg a day, for a sinus infection and was fine as far as any urine problems ... I just moved to Denver from Chicago. Right before we left, I could tell I had a sinus infection, as I have a long history of sinus issues. I also have stomach issues, history of a couple ulcers. A couple of ENT's have told me I have obvious signs of GERD, though I don't often have indigestion, sometimes I can taste acid in the morning. Anyway, I saw a doc when I arrived in Denver and she gave me Biaxin for the sinus infection. Only it doesn't seem to have cleared up.
It sounds like you have a bacterial infection that is not being properly treated. I would ask the doctor for a different type of antibiotic like Biaxin or Bactrum. It might help if you saw a pulmonologist for an accurate diagnosis and more effective treatment.
Another idea is that you are having allergy issues. If you identify your allergen and practice avoidance measures, that could take care of the problem as well.
0 g is recommended, although most likely 1.5 g would work. If you were only exposed -- i.e. for prevention before the infection takes hold -- 1.5 g is fine.
Of course whether you have or were exposed to syphilis depends entirely on information you don't provide. If you are in North America or Europe and had a heterosexual exposure you are concerned about, the odds are extremely low you were exposed to syphilis. If you're a gay man anywhere, it could be a very high risk.

HPI: Patient had all porcelain crown* placed on upper right side molar 4 weeks ago w subsequent pain and discomfort on biting down. One wk later had back lower tooth sanded down and scraped around upper and lower molars on right side (explanation not provided as what procedure was performed).
On that Tuesday, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Bronchitis and a sinus infection. WBC was 15000. I received a Rocephin and Decadron injection and was placed on Biaxin for 10days. I still have a low grade temp (not less than 99.4) and also have joint pain and night sweats. I went to my gynecologist for my yearly checkup and told him all this and he drew another CBC. He mentioned a systemic infection as well as possible lymphoma or leukemia.
I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. Would this have cured anyt sti? Sorry for long question doc just want everything answered at once.
