My question is do you think it is possible this is mycoplasma and not chronic lyme? And if so exactly what test should I ask my doctor for to test for mycoplasma?
My IgM Lyme test through Igenex showed 30+, 39, 41 IND.

Have had fifteen mycoplasma pneumonias, bronchitis all the time, chronic sinusitis, strep throats, recurrent ear infections (as a child and in adulthood - am now 27, female), general fatigue, laparascopically diagnosed endometriosis as well as various myalgias and undiagnosed bouts of abdominal pain.
My doctor's suggested autoimmune disease or immunodeficiency of some sort, but rules it out when gamma-globulines came back normal.
Just recd. my results from the urine and throat swab. I've been detected with Mycoplasma Hominis and Mycoplasma Genitalium. I've been precribed with Clarithromycin (Biaxin in the US) 250 mg twice a day for 7 days.
I'm awaiting blood test results. Very scared that I've caught other STDs particularly HIV. Don't know whom to go to for support...
Could be a NGU caused by a Mycoplasma. Maybe not. It will not show up on standard STD tests and the Dr's will dissmiss you until your symptoms become chronic. look at my post on Mycoplasa Genitalium if your symptoms persist.
ve had a cough, mucus production, and phlegm for well over a year now, and my physician diagnosed (with a blood test) mycoplasma pneumonia. Even after 2 rounds of Biaxin recently, my bronchial symptoms have returned a bit. I took an anonymous full panel STD test a few months ago and was negative for STD's. Would cunnilingus, in any way, have caused these bronchial symptoms (can you catch anything that would pass into the lungs)? I am in my late 40's.
I am trying to figure out which cause trigger fingers in all of my fingers except thumbs. Plaquenil did a good job keep it at bay. While on doxycycline 200mg daily, I experiment by cut down Plaquenil to half dosage. For three weeks, there is no change, then fourth week, my fingers goes crazy. I upped the dosage back, and one week later, fingers behaves.
While on rocephin IV and still taking plaquenil, for first few days, with herx, the trigger fingers came back then stops.
Mycoplasma and ureaplasmas are bacterias thst aren't tested for in standard STD testingand are found to be the cause of persistent NGU and usually require large doses and a long term prescription as they can be difficult to eradicate if they aren't caught early enough.
Mycoplasma and ureaplasma tests aren't usually covered my health plans amd can cost several hundreds of dollars to order but would give you an idea of what antibiotics would be most effective...
Not to your particular situation; however, we have found that patients with chronic infections such as Mycoplasma often sweat profusely, especially at night, but often after temperature changes. The other symptoms of CFS and IBS have also been noted at high frequency in such patients.
I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?
Some forms of asthma, associated with Mycoplasma also respond to Macrolide drugs such as Biaxin. Or is could have been pertussis (whooping cough), the symptoms (especially cough) of which can linger for months.
That there are no infiltrates, consolidation or effusion is good news. The description of moderate hyperinflation and a low diaphragm is consistent with air trapping and, hence, with the diagnosis of sub-optimally controlled asthma.

Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection.
All test were negative.
My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am.
It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down.
I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue.
Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?
ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?
He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?
I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked.
5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs.
Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.
May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. Would this have cured anyt sti? Sorry for long question doc just want everything answered at once.
