Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

They put me on Biaxin and told me to rest. I have been on Biaxin now for a little over two weeks and I am almost finished with the pills. My period was supposed to come on Nov. 28th or 29th and still hasn't showed up yet. Biaxin is well known for causing a metallic taste in the mouth. It's not a herx or acid reflux. Every time I used it (and every time many other Lymies used it) that metallic taste stayed the entire course and never diminished. I guess there could be a few people who didn't have that taste----- but then, we're all different aren't we?

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

After 15 mins of sex the condom broke. I pulled out with in 3 seconds cause we both felt it broke. She finished me off with a hand job. I took a shower immediate after. I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! Nausea, headache, depression, crying outbursts, metallic taste, and wanting to sleep all day are the main ones. I have never felt depressed like this in my life. I, personally do not see how Doxycycline could produce much of a herx. Maybe in combination with a cyst buster, such as Flagyl. But not in that particular combination. I could be wrong, but I just don't see how. You weren't really specific in the worsening of your symptoms. Getting worse does not always indicate a herxheimer reaction! Medications come with side effects, especially at the higher doses as we are sometimes prescribed for Lyme.

Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. Since I have gone back on Biaxin and Tindamax in the last week, I seem to hit a wall around 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open. I have taken an afternoon nap about 4 days out of 7.
