biaxin during pregnancy

I had to do all the house work because my boyfriend works nights and sleeps during the day. So, I was trying to get everything set-up for the house during working also. On November 19th, I ended up going back to the doctor and they diganosed me with strep (2nd time). They put me on Biaxin and told me to rest. I have been on Biaxin now for a little over two weeks and I am almost finished with the pills. My period was supposed to come on Nov. 28th or 29th and still hasn't showed up yet.

I am 3 months pregnant and am prone to sinus infections and it seems the only antibiotic that works for me is biaxin. I have a sinus infection now, is it safe to take biaxin 2 pills together for ten days?

A different doctor changed my prescription from Doxy to Clarithromycin, as I work outside but told her I am managing the sun well as I cover up thoroughly. Well I am not even working that much during meds as they drag me down so i can certainly get away with Doxy.

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

Since then I learned that the NSAIDs helped me I have continued to take them as ibuprofen to function some during the day. Prinmary Dr put me on Biaxin due to blood work taken at hospital showing normal WBC count but slightly elevated neutrophils and more decreased lymphocytes. Started Biaxin yesterday; slight improvement, fever last night 100 instead of 101, but headache still gets very strong during the night, had to finally take ibuprofen again at 2am; rash is expanding to trunk.

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

Since I have gone back on Biaxin and Tindamax in the last week, I seem to hit a wall around 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open. I have taken an afternoon nap about 4 days out of 7. I am a terrible napper and rarely ever nap, even when I was at my sickest with Lyme. I guess it could be herxing from the meds, but I haven't had this in the past. I am wondering if these two drugs are particularly targeting cysts and spiros in my brain.

Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

I haven't changed my mind. The additional information doesn't change my opinion or advice. Everybody's WBC count goes over 10,000 from time to time. It's normal. It may happen a little more frequently during pregnancy, I'm not sure. But a WBC in that range doesn't mean anything, unless it is persistent and sometimes higher.

- HIV at 7 weeks, 15 weeks and 9 months - STD test for Clymidia and gonnerea at about 8 months after (this was a urine test) I was concerned cause I peed about 1 hour before testing Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

I started taking Biaxin 2 days ago for a horrible throat infection. Since then my muscles have been weak and crampy (especially my calves with restless leg syndrome as well). I also am having horrible stomach cramps and nausea and I get an overwhelming metallic taste in my mouth (almost like bile actually). And the insomnia last night was unbearable. I haven't had insomnia in over a year. Has anyone else experienced this with Biaxin?

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.

I also was put on an atibiotic in Feb 2009 in Canda where I live it is called Biaxin (2X500mg) a day for 10 days. Now to my questions.... 1) I have read from Dr HHH about these infections going away on there own within 3 months. I have also read Dr HOOK say he has seen it last for 3 years?...what is the chance either of these could last 1 year? 2) Although I did a urine test for both infections I have one concern.

May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

I have read lots of your post concerning biaxin and azithromycin and whether they cure syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU. I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. On some post you say that azithromycin or clarithromycin(biaxin) would cure all the bacterial stds then in others you state that there could be some problems. by H. Hunter Handsfield, M.D.

I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. Would this have cured anyt sti? Sorry for long question doc just want everything answered at once.

I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! Nausea, headache, depression, crying outbursts, metallic taste, and wanting to sleep all day are the main ones. I have never felt depressed like this in my life. A feeling of sadness has taken over my body the past 5 days and it is miserable. Can somebody tell me why?? I stopped taking it today because I have had enough, I want my life back.
