Biaxin erythromycin

Common Questions and Answers about Biaxin erythromycin

biaxin

Avatar n tn I was on antibiotics a(biaxin 4 days switched to erythromycin 250mgs 4 x day) and using chlorhehydine mouthwash several times a day (for about 4-5 days). My question is that I have had the most annoying tongue issue for about 5 days now. It seems like it's "furry" and white. It's driving me crazy! Is this due the disturbance of the flora in my mouth???? How do I get rid of it?? Please HELP!! Thank you!!
Avatar n tn I have taken Erythromycin 2x, Clindamycin 3x and Biaxin. Nothing will cure the infection. I have seen 5 dentists and 2 endodontists and no one knows what to do for me. They essentially tell me I have an infection, presecribe some medication and push me out the door. I am at a loss as to what to do, but I can no longer continue with this pain. It has gotten to the point where somedays I just don't want to be alive anymmore. Please tell me what to do!
Avatar n tn anyway, 3 days ago she gave me prednisone to help with the swelling along with biaxin. The prednisone helped my swollen tonsils, but the glands in my neck keep getting worse. No ibuprofen helps the pain of it, which is causing me a lack of sleep. Is there anything else I have possibly overlooked? I'm not exhausted all the time at all. my entire neck is killing me and behind my ears and head, occasionaly my jaw and armpits too.
Avatar m tn My last question, is if I should rule out NGU based on my experience? Would the azithromycin, biaxin, or Erythromycin clear it up if I had it? would it have cleared up on its own after the several months? I only ask b/c its the only thing I didn't test for, and seems to be a culprit a lot. I am so paranoid and focused on all areas that I think all are signs of burning.
475555 tn?1469304339 I checked the drug interactions for Sovaldi and Olysio on their Patient Information sheets. On the Olysio PI it says to avoid taking Erythromycin and derivatives. Azithromycin, which is what I normally take during dental work, is made from Erithromycicn, according to Wikipedia, so I probably shouldn't take it. But I've have trouble (serious gastrointestinal problems) with the alternative antibiotic, Amixicillin. Does anyone here know about this stuff.
Avatar n tn Some syphilis bacteria are resistant to all macrolide antibiotics -- azithromycin, clarithromycin (Biaxin), and erythromycin. These strains are common in some geographic areas and apparently absent in others. Unfortunately, the technology to determine resistance is complex and expensive, and therefore data are not available from most geographic areas.
1084115 tn?1385228589 I understand I took Biaxin once and horrilbe pain in the upper right, do not know if it was gall bladder or what but within an hour of taking the pain would start. I had the medicine changed. This was before I knew I had hep C Later...I took it again after tx and no problem so could be coincidence. One I would never take is in the leviquin family or class of quinolones I have received an alert that is can cause problems with tendons. I had one rip in my foot while just walking.
723952 tn?1231857532 they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.
Avatar n tn I have successfully taken erythromycin, zithromax and biaxin. Anybody allergic to cillins and quinones who has had good luck with Sulfa drugs? Thanks, in advance, for the help!
1094370 tn?1317134825 Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!
Avatar m tn I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment USP, 0.5% (sterile) to be applied to the eyes' eyelid margins every night at bedtime. What is the minimum and maximum time (i.e. days, months) I can use this medication without making the bacteria drug resistant or causing other problems?
Avatar n tn - HIV at 7 weeks, 15 weeks and 9 months - STD test for Clymidia and gonnerea at about 8 months after (this was a urine test) I was concerned cause I peed about 1 hour before testing Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.
Avatar m tn My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?
Avatar f tn Hi there I have a erythrasma rash that won't go away . It is in my groin . So going to the gym is painful walking for long periods is painful and even working long hours is painful . Avatar n tn Can Erythromycin and Benzoyl Peroxide Topical Gel cause a vaginial yeast infection.
Avatar f tn ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?
Avatar f tn I'm on Norpace XR (anti-arrythmic) for Afib and I'm not supposed to take any of the antibiotics ending in "mycin" or Biaxin. Another post on this board said they landed in ICU after doing just that. It can cause a fatal heart rhythm. Another recent post suggested that one should double check with the doctor and/or pharmacist because there is some data that says some antibiotics are more likely to cause trouble than others.
Avatar m tn He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

Avatar f tn After a gastric empty study my doctor decided to put me on liquid Erythromycin three times a day, because apparently I was one percentage away from an "abnormal" emptying time. Because 60mg of Prevacid wasn't helping me, my doctor thought that perhaps slowed emptying could be causing my persistent burning. On top of my heartburn/reflux problem, I also have a history of ovarian cysts.
Avatar m tn I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.
Avatar f tn My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!
