very true. the best thing to do in this case is get your child looked at by doctors. the doctors at the hospital would probably be able to recommend someone who can give you accurate information..not sure that your 18 month child needs to see an sti specialist, but they can tell you best. i only say the things i say about eczema because I've had it for 23 years. however, your childs condition IS quite rare and needs to be examined by a dermatologist or specialist.. good luck..

Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face.
No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
Eczema is a topical reaction to an allergen. For me it caused by touching perfume; for others it could be from diet. Asthma is a reaction that restricts the lungs' ability to work. This can be caused from an allergen as well, but it can also be caused by environment. (My grandma isn't allergic to cigarette smoke but if she walked through a cloud of it she might have a hard time breathing.
My children have had recurring blisters between their toes for the last several months. We've been to several dermatologists but no one can explain what these are. They are not itchy and they tend to get better and worse over the course of several weeks. Also, they start as pinhead sized blisters that can grow to involve the entire toe (or multiple small blisters that grow together). Lamasil seemed to help after the initial outbreak, but does nothing now.

I am requesting this post be moved to the dermatology forum but I do have an answer for you. My husband has these same spots, and they do itch in winter and sometimes summer also. The spots are called Tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor in aggravated in humid locations, most often winter because we wear warmer clothes that hold in moisture. In summer, because it is hot and humid outside, which promotes the increase of itching. The Tenia is a fungus, which is not contagious.
He has been finished with the treatment for 3 weeks and with the Elidil and dipping him in Aquaphor 3 times per day he has not had anymore than just a "dry patch" appearing here and there which I combat with the Elidil, Momentasone and Mimyx and the usual Aquaphor regimine. He also takes Atarax 2 to 3 tsps per day for his allergies. Is this wonderfully clear skin still associated with the low dose steroids? Could I be so lucky to be keeping it at bay after all of these years?

ve done so much research to try and help him, but most things on eczema are for parents with children with it (my fiance is 23) and don't help me much...and he gets worse daily: last night the seeping soaked through two shirts and the pillow he was using (every which way he turned it).

Not every person with chronic hepatitis B needs to be on medication. You should talk to your doctor about whether you are a good candidate for drug therapy or a clinical trial.
