You can register and ask for a list of doctors who use the Marshall Protocol in your area. I believe I used this function years ago and got a list of doctors. My doctor who I have now uses Benicar, however does not follow all aspects of the protocol. She says the Benicar helps the antibiotics work better which I guess is the theory behind the Marshall Protocol. You can also try to google "marshall protocol doctors" and see what comes up.
I'm on Toprol XL, Cardizem, Benicar along with Lasix for HTN. I have a BUN of 32 (up from 24 a month ago) with a creatinine of 1.2. Can it be medication related? I am not overweight nor do I overuse salt, but am concerned about kidney failture.
Since this combination was used, my blood pressure as been borderline to high all the time (ranging from 130s/70 to 170s/90). I also have had frequent headaches, fatigue, and some chest discomfort (heaviness, not acute pain). Nevertheless, no a-fib. I realize both medications are intended to lower blood pressure in addition to controlling the rhythm. I have normal heart structure and no history of heart attack. My blood pressure was 120s/60s on sotalol and Benicar.
A guy uses Benicar off-label for chronic fatigue or something in the so called Marshall Protocol. While its effectiveness remains dubious.
He claims Benicar reduces the need for exogenous thyroid hormones in hypothyroid patients even getting to the point of hyperthyroidism.

I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.
I recently had open heart surgery, 4 bypasses. I was on Benicar 20mg. a day before the surgery along with Zocor to control cholesterol. I am now on Plavix, Toprol XL, Zocor and Benicar. My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP.
I've recently been having terrible anxiety and one of the changes in my life is that I've started taking Benicar 40mg for high blood pressure. I saw on a post somewhere that benicar can cause this. Has anyone else heard of this?

He just means you can feel them, Many people have them and never know its going on. The doctor is also right about the Benicar, I've been taking 40mg a day for a few years, never affected me.
Bottom line, if your echo is normal and your heart is normal structurally, these are normally not dangerous, but they sure can be annoying though!
I have being training for several running races for 5 months. Before going into a preparation for a half marathon training, I went to the cardiologist to do a check up, as I know my BP always was borderline to be considered high. I did Echo, Stress tests and 24h BP measurements. Echo and stress went all right, but BP was slightly high, my mean systolic pressure was 133 and mean diastolic was 83, with the maximum during the test being 148 an 100.
My LDL is 223 and before 222. when taking toprol XL 50-75 mg. My cholesterol is 177 when I am not on antihypertensive drugs. Is there any documentation that proves Toprol XL can elevate cholesteral levels.

It uses low-dose (pulsed) antibiotics, along with Benicar. Dr. Trevor Marshall has discovered the use of Benicar for Th1 inflammatory diseases. A brilliant discovery and I know it works because I was originally on his protocol. Benicar alone, without antibiotics, appears to enable the immune system to function better and thus kill enough bacteria to cause the resulting immunopathology. Benicar allows the immune system to 'see' the bacteria.
My dr put me on Benicar 20mg and Toprol XL 25mg to lower my blood pressure. I have a fast pulse too (always over 100). Will these meds lower my pulse also?
I have been on medication for hcb for about 5 years.Six months ago I complained of chest pain and diastolic pressure was 41. My doctor took me off of metoprolol and ordered tests from a cardiologist.Tests were all fine the pain went away and diastolic pressure returned to normal until a week ago. The chest pain has returned and the diastolic pressure is 53.I am currently on benicar hct 40/25 and my bp has been 126/53. Should I stop taking the benicar? Not sure what to make of the chest pain.
t know if I spelled it right) she is on this med for some time now and has big time side effects as in extreme fatigue and caugh. The fatigue is so bad that its hard for her to function. Her doctor REFUSES to switch her to anothr BP med, her doctor says "no way are these side effects from that med, this is the best BP med on the market and I will NOT switch you".
I'm 24 years old, male, was very healthy a year ago. I graduated college, moved to a new town, and got a great job.
I've slowly debilitated starting around October of last year. At first, I would just notice that I was getting weak and light-headed every now and then. A few months later, at my job, I noticed I couldn't do as much when climbing stairs or working in hot situations long periods of time.
I experience variuos fluctuations even using Benicar. My blood pressure had some for some reason risen to 170/101 two months ago and my primary doctor prescribed Benicar. Well, it reduce my blood pressure to the normal range, but it fluctuates to as low as 86/54 and up to 136/86. Along with this I have lightheadeness, dizziness, some breathing problems, some numbness in my hands and unsteady walking. What I would like to find out if this relates to heart trouble.
Er doc said probably some tachardia due to stopping the beta blocker I had been on for years. I went back to cardio dr the next day and now he wants me to take Benicar, Norvasc and a small dose of the beta blocker plus my anxiety meds...all this for someone who he says has a normal heart? I am so confused. Also, I got a copy of all my records because I am getting a second opinion....
dad died at 46yrs, his dad died early 40s and 2 bothers with valvular issues. Have had hypertension for a few years and started on Benicar a year ago. Also I do feel some tightness in my throat and neck. Extremities get cold and off and on during the day. I also have been sweating more then usual!!! No CP... Thyroid test negative last year. Well this is as much info I can give. What are your thoughts???
I can feel the asthma attacks coming on most of the time and can lessen the symtpoms somewhat with nebulizer, rescue inhaler and cough medicine. But there are times when I started violently coughing for no apparent reason. Air travel worsens my symptoms which is difficult since I have to travel frequently for my job. I have had pulmonary function tests that indicate asthma, CT Scans essentially are normal except for a 4cm lesion that has not changed.
also your body may have built a tolerance to the med and you need to get with your dr to find what works for your body.
My PCP removed the metropol and put me on benicar 20mg. A couple of weeks later I went to see a cardio doc for chest pain and dizziness. He admitted me overnight and They did a stress test with an echo, they also did 3 blood tests to check to see if i had a heart attack. Everything was fine and he switched me to Coreg. The chest pains got worse and my PCP switched me from the Coreg to Benicar 40mg since my BP was not low enough and my chest pains increased on the Coreg.
