I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban. The original sore that was on my cheek never dried out, instead shrinking from the Bactroban. I am still suffering these and other new symptoms and I wonder if the original sore might be keeping the virus active since it never naturally resolved. Someone PLEASE help me. Thank you.

Five days later cultured again and it came back negative. Said I should use Bacitracin for a year as Bactroban burned and dismissed me.(I am allergic to all antibiotics but two and most other drugs-happens over time) 2nd ENT said Bacitracin irritates and easy to get allergic to it. Already allergic to Neosporin. She said my nose is extremely dry causing the scabs, crusting and rawness. Even feels sore down the back of my nose into the throat area now.

ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.

But she did say that as a carrier, MRSA sticks around, sometimes, needlessly. She is attempted to rid it completely with a 30 day nasal spray mixture of saline and Bactroban (compounded). She said since my staph infections (another issue, did't mention) start in nasal passages, the spray is the only way to attack it IF IT is located in the upper nasal passages.

Hi Peedz, Can you please let us know, whether this running nose is of a short duration? Is there any sneezing? Or any allergic symptoms associated with it? In the first instance, if you have used Otrivin nasal drops for more than 5 days, please do stop it. U can use saline nasal drops to relive the nasal congestion. Do not blow the nose forcefully or try to clear the throat forcefully, because there might be submucosal bleeding. I do not know how far the aqueous ointment will help???

It sounds like you could have atrophic rhinitis (spelling might not be right) I think I read somewhere that you should irrigate nasal passages, use a humidifer when you sleep to keep the nasal membranes moist, also there is a gel that you can buy at walgreens drug store (I don't know where you live or if they have walgreens drug store where you live) anyway it is called "AYR nasal gel" and this is to help keep nasal membranes moist as well.

Facial pain, fever and nasal discharge are the other symptoms of sinusitis. In addition to discharge nasal bleeding can occur with sinus infections. I had the turbinate reduction a year and a half ago. I haven't had the issues you've had, but for dryness, have you tried saline nasal gel? It's like a spray, but in gel form. It could also be that the steroids and antihistamines dry you out too much. There are good allergy nasal sprays that can really help. Have you seen an allergist? What about a humidifier for your bedroom? Get a cool mist one. Also, how old is your pillow? Maybe it's time for a new one.

As I have already posted, I will try starting tonight to use only a nasal gel and a mouth/throat gel that retards dry-mouth/throat. I have used the later in the past and did find it allowed me to breath through my mouth when sleeping with less discomfort. I'll report back my findings... I may continue to take an oral anti contestant, but so far I haven't found one that provides much relief.

It will not be drippy while you work--it is relief. It is called Ayr Saline Nasal Gel. I felt it coming on this year and started that right away and I didn't get a sore that stayed so long. Last winter when I suffered like you are I actually dabbed Neosporin with the pain relief right in my nose on the sore area and it took the soreness out so I didn't mess with it so much. It gradually healed. I hope that helps.

Hello.Thank you for your concern.I believe I have a 2nd degree burn.I looked into Silvadine but unfortunately it is only available by prescription & I don't have health insurance.Right now I am using an over the counter gel calamine.It's only been 4 days so it will take time to heal.Do you have any good suggestions for a good brand I could use that is over the counter?I will keep you posted & you did help.Thank you.

I missed my MD appt today because I think I have the flu. I have felt very weak, nauseated for about 10 days. I also have a headache and severe nasal allergies. I have had the scalp sores/bumps/scaliness for a bout 2 weekks. I also have a swollen lymph node. Any connection between the three? Could the cause of the scalp thing be allergy?

I saw another doctor, who said I had folliculitis, and he prescribe Bactroban(Mupirocin) for me. He also hints me the folliculitis cannot be cured completely. My doctor put me on Bactrim for a sinus infection. I have had a slight reaction to it in the past. A couple hours after taking it I started getting a really bad itch on my penis. The skin under the helmet also swelled way up and it hurts a bit. I've taken Bactrim about 5 days now and the skin directly under the lip of the helmet has been peeling and is really sore. My doc says I'm not alleric to Bactrim and this is a coincidence but I'm not sure.

Flonase, is that for nasal congestion? I have tried it for chronic night time nasal congestion... it "sort of" works. Has it worked well for you, bump aside? I love Afrin, but it can not be used more than a few days in a row. I have pushed it too far and have suffered some rebound. I understand Flonase/Generic does not risk "rebound".

i have bought a lubricating nasal gel, Secaris, my nose had blood in the morning for a couple times before and i am deshydrated since a long time, not sure how to explain in english but i am breathing better, the tickling and rubbing nose is low because my nose is hydrated and the dust and irritating things in the air dont come into my nose as before, it is not a miracle but Secaris helps with hydratation and allergies, so the root of all of the symptoms is still mystery...

Interesting, my main personal reason for reading post on this form is I suffer from chronic nasal congestion and have/do use prescription nasal spray, supplemented by saline spray and a nasal gel (forget the name, expensive stuff for over-the-counter), but none of this has caused me to detect smells, if anything I have a low sensitivity to smells. I am coming up on my annual physical and think I'll ask my primary care about seeing and ENT, perhaps I have an infection...

Allergy meds should be fine however we get so dehydrated on tx that you might want to consider waiting a little while until the meds get absorbed and then use some saline to clean you nasal passages and water them up a bit. I know when I take any benedryl or flonase type thing I get a bit dehydrated from them as it is........on tx well doesn't sound like fun!

The results of the cultures came back last week and I apparently had a minor staph infection in my nose, so she prescribed Bactroban Nasal. I had to squeeze half of a small tube of the ointment into each nostril twice a day for 5 days. I finished the prescription a few days ago but my lips look the same! WHAT IS IT? And why won't it go away?! I am embarrassed and just cannot take it anymore. Please help.

My MD started me on Bactrum 800 mg BID for 3 weeks and Bactroban nasal solution. I do sinus washes often and have increased recently. Any other suggestions?

5) for herpes I had discomfort in bowel moments due to the latter medicine and I developed fissures and the doctor advised me to use BACTROBAN and it responded. Now, Since last month I have been having troublesome time with anal fissure on the outer side, in or close to the 7'o clock position (right side) with blood in stool and terrible pain. I even had a swelling inside that I could feel when touched.
