Azelastine hydrochloride eye

Common Questions and Answers about Azelastine hydrochloride eye

astelin

Avatar f tn Optivar (Azelastine) is an antihistamine, a fairly potent one, but you might want to ask your eye doctor about possibly using a corticosteroid eye drop to quell the severe allergic reaction. Also, you might want to consider the use of wrap-around or sealed glasses to reduce the amount of airborne allergen reaching your eyes. Itching is one thing – pain is another especially bad eye pain. Probably just that awful feeling of gravel in the eyes.
Avatar m tn Went to doctor to get steroid shot they usually work but nothing. Doctor also prescribed Azelastine took awhile to pick it up. There was mix up with where it was sent. Was I glad when I did pick it up... HELL YEAH! Not only did it help with allergies but that hellish itch was gone totally. Just like that UNBELIEVABLE! Don't know why. Can't find any info that Azelastine would help with that problem. BUT IT DID! there is no doubt in my mind. Its not a coincidence.

It was clearly visible and I am feeling it also. It all started around 4 years ago when accidentally eye liner's tip went between the eyeball and the top eyelid. My CT scans and blood runs for Thyroid, Hemoglobin, Sugar etc were normal at that time. Also blood runs are normal now also.

Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink.

Such as Ritalin, Atropine, Cyclopentolate. And the eye is a very complex part of the human body, which brings alot of new knowledge everyday.
Avatar f tn I have an eye allergy that started several years ago, after I had pneumonia. My heating/air system at home and in the car irritates my eyes. When the air blows in my face it irritates the veins/blood vessel around my eyes, they get puff and swollen that causes the pressure in my eyes to go up. I'm using four different eye drops provided by my doctor. I only have close-up vision in my left eye and I'm worried that I may soon lose site in my right eye.
Avatar n tn t go away until the infection dissipated. He prescribed cyclopentolate Hydrochloride to dilate my infected eye and help lessen the pain associated with the photophobia. I don't understand how this works. Wouldn't dilating the eye allow more light in, and therefore cause more pain? Also, how long does it usually take for the infection to go away that's causing the photophobia?

Avatar m tn My eye doctor said she used cyclopentolate to dilate my eyes for a routine eye exam. My vision has now been blurry for 6 days. Had a follow-up visit and she said I now need glasses. Never wore glasses; had no vision issues prior to the dilation. She did not know whether my eyes would ever go back to normal. Not only are my eyes now blurry, but I have headaches and chronic eye discomfort. What is going on with this drug?
Avatar m tn The doctor said he could restart the dilating drops (cyclopentolate hydrochloride) and this has helped his pain spasms. However, whenever the drops wear off the pain spasms come back. Has anyone else experienced this? I have extensively searched the internet and can not find any other similar posts. His doctor had not heard of it. We are wondering if perhaps the buckle his impacting his muscle that is used for focusing? Or is this normal and it will just take awhile for the pain to stop?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
