Avatar f tn I've been on Avonex for 2.5 years and it's suited me well but I have just had a 4 week break. I then took my injection on Tuesday night and was strangely fine on Wednesday and Thursday but on Friday, Saturday and today I have lost about 50% of my strength from my left arm and leg. Is this likely to be a side effect from restarting the Avonex (muscle weakness) or a relapse?
Avatar f tn Sigh, I have a question from a friend. She would like to know if avonex causes calcium deficiency? She is diagnosed with ms. Not like me.

Avatar n tn Pulled this from another site...2008...maybe outdated but I tried. Suboxone Patient Assistance Program 866-512-2216 Eligibility Guidelines and Notes: The patient can have no public or private prescription insurance and have an income at or below $25,500 for an individual ($34,500 for a family of two, $43,000 for a family of three) The patient must be 16 years or older.
Avatar m tn I've been using an Avogrip to help inject Avonex for many years. For reasons I'm unable to explain, I sadly have lost mine and am looking to find a replacement. Biogen Idec has not been any help, and I recently discovered the groups like MSWorld disallow postings along these lines. It's just a little bit of plastic, and it helps me quite a lot! Seems more than silly that it would be so difficult! Thanks for your help!!!

Avatar m tn Wow - that's a "golden" pumpkin pie. Will be interesting to see just you end up paying for taxes if/when this "plan" is implemented.
Avatar f tn I have been on Avonex for 6 weeks with no problems. Last night I fell asleep before I took my shot so I took it around noon after I got out of the shower. That was a a BIG MISTAKE! I was okay for most of the day, but I started feeling crappy (nauseous) around 4 or 5, by 8 pm I was making repeated trips to the toilet! I won't make this mistake twice!
Avatar f tn Hi Sarah, I am almost done going through months of all the motions needed to take prior to starting Gilenya- the tests, vaccines, etc. I was contacted by the Gilenya Go Program. They sent me a form to fill out. Once they received my form I was approved for their financial assistance program, which covers all costs for 1 year. After 1 year, I believe I need to reapply.
Avatar f tn t even remember the name of. Anyways, I started taking Avonex. This coming up week will be my 5th injection. I have suffered through the fever, the body aches, let me make that severe muscle pains, abdominal pains, and the list goes on. The one side effect that is really worrying me is the depression. I have never been so depressed in my life. In fact I have never been what I would call depressed. I've have some really hard times but I've always been able to push through.
Avatar f tn My daughter will be starting on her MS medication and was given options for about 6 different drugs. They are all injectables. She is starting on Avonex once a week, and is dreading the weekly shot and the awful side affects. I know there are a few clinical trials going on right now for a pill form. Are there any nearing FDA approval?? And if so, when might we expect them to be available to the public?
1532707 tn?1312155924 My work was having open enrollment for insurance and i was eligible. I wanted to sign up for their dental plan since i need it and can afford it again. I assumed it was being taken care of since i filled out the form and turned it in the same day. I have been patiently awaiting the cards in the mail but nothing!.... I ask my boss today what happened and she says she turned the paper work in1 day late and missed the deadline. Now i have to wait a whole 'nother year to get insurance?
Avatar f tn As things stand, I am truly grateful to be able to use this medicine in the form that needs to be mixed. I think this will be very helpful to most Avonex users though. Not only will it hide the needle, it will also give you more accessible injection sites.

Avatar n tn Has anyone every gone off the Avonex--& if so how did it go? Wanting so badly to quit the shots! Been doing them since '98 & it's getting hard to get the needle through the skin on my legs. I went from '78 to '98 with no episodes & was diagnosed then. That was with no meds of any kind for that 20 years!!
333672 tn?1273792789 Thanks for the explanation. I thought it was something like that (you did mean to say injectable form and not pill form, right?) Thanks for all your work on the health pages, too. Those are really great resources! I have certainly learned a lot.
195469 tn?1388322888 s known that some people on the Interferons, Avonex and Rebif have had no additional lesions, that have lasted years. That was my experience when I took Avonex. Since I now take Copaxone and have only been on it for a little over a year, I cannot give you a personal view of how well the drug is working for me. I am beginning to notice less relapses, though. How DMD's work is not fully understood.
97654 tn?1214348650 Hi, I was recently diagnosed with MS and had my first Avonex injection Friday. Friday night was tough (fever, chills, pain and eventually heavy sweating) but I felt pretty good by Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon I started feeling kind of down and by Sunday morning I feel even more so. I can't decide if this is a result of the drug or just the situation as a whole.
