No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...I'm traveling alot and can't see him for another 2 weeks. Is this a problem I need to see someone about before then?

I drink a lot water at night because my mouth is so dry, from the last two items.I work every day and have had a very active sex life. Docs have done many blood tests and say I have mild Diabetes and have me on Metamorphin I believe it is . It is very frustrating but sometimes I drink fluids until I am ready to burst. I am on Avalide for high BP but have talked to others with diabetes ( some on insulin ) and on BP meds and they drink nowhere near whay I do or feel thirsty all the time. My body weight can fluctuate as much as 10 lbs during the week ( daily 3-5 max ) .
Hello, I’ve had high blood pressure since I’ve been a teen quite stable at 160/80 I’m now 27 years old and have been on medication for 2 years now… I started with avopro 150mg I went down to about 145/70, then they changed my medication to avalide 300/12.
put me on Avalide and I guess I just need to know, if I go to the gym and lift 300lbs on the bench, am I going to have a stroke? Heart attack? Am I crazy for continuing my regular weight lifting routine?
Confused and Worried!
Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide.
I've been on Lopressor for years to keep my heart rate down and Avalide for blood pressure. Then in November, my arrthymia worsen. So after about 6 weeks of playing with my Lopressor dosage, my doctor cut the lopressor and put me on Cardizem which is a calcium channel blocker like verapamil. My heart rate became much worse...very rapid like around 120-140....after 3 days of this, I begged to get back on Lopressor so we did and it's back to how it was ...no better no worse....

I’m 58 yrs old, 5 ft 10 in and 200 lbs. I’ve been taking Avalide 150/12.5 for pre-hypertension for 8 months. I exercise six times per week and have done so for years; weights twice each week and spinning/bike four times. Any thoughts, input would be appreciated.
I was also wondering what preventative measures that I can take so I do not have any more problems with the atrial part of the heart is there a medicine or some sort of diet that I can get on to prevent any more symptoms.
blood pressure has been up and down for the last 20 yrs taking avalide 12.5 and diltiazem 360 mgs ,but now i go on this medication terazasin only 2 mg and blood pressure goes to normal .thank you .doe anyone know why vitamin d will not come up to normal

I am 60 next week, had high controlled BP since I was 25, normally 123/71 with resting pulse of 56-63. I take Avalide 300/12.5 and was taking atenolol 12.5 a day until I was in the mountains where I have another home and it raised my BP and lowered my pulse to almost 41 resting. (Again, I ride an exercise bike forty minutes a day) I am a licensed professional and the LVH thing has me worried as if I have to I may need to have a GXT and a Holter 24 hour monitor.
My spouse has a mix of medical problems which all make one another worse... makes it hard to choose where to post, but major depression is his main diagnosis so I'll post here.
He also has anxiety, high BP, an ulcer & sleep apnea (uses a CPAP).
He takes plenty of meds (sadly I don't have the exact dosage here, just know it's on the low side) : Cipralex (like 5mg or 10mg once a day), Wellbutrin and Ativan...
(never been on coumadin or heparin) I am 74 years old and also take Nexium, Crestor, Avalide 150/12.5, Lopressor, 50,000mg of D3 daily, Synthroid for 3 thyroid nodules and Hashimoto's..(TSH is in the 3-8 range) I take .375 Bayer daily for sinus headaches and advil for knee arthritis. I have a high Parathyroid Level (serum) but normal calcium. Parathyroid adenoma is seen on Nuclear studies. My BNP is always in the 40-45 range. Have some asthma and use albuterol inhaler when needed.
And my dad just started taking atenolol and avalide around the time he noticed this stuff on his hands. So his doctor told him to see if being off of that for a month or so would help. and it did for awhile and now its back and new patches are starting on his hand! so if you have any other advice i would love to hear it? or suggest anything? thank you!!
m with Empathy..get to Planned parenthood for a pap..u should not ignore them!u may be having hormonal problems causing these heavy periods...only a doctor will be able to diagnose/treat u properly!
with Sinus/allergy problems. He tested me for strep, it was positive, and gave me med for the strep throat. The conditions have gotten worse and now my ear has started to hurt. While blowing my nose i got a real sharp pain in my right ear and now a little brownish disharge is comming out of my ear and it is continuing to hurt. it feels like there is water or some sort of liquid in it and all noises are muffled and there is a mild pain in my ear.
Took the meds as prescribed and was able to get off of them on my own, no problems. However life started crashing down on me and I was looking for them to help with the everyday stressors. I know, not good, but as of Monday this week, I was caught stealing them Hydros from work. I worked in a CBRF, and I was taken to the hospital, because I stated that I wanted to crawl in a hole...I guess that meant I was going to kill myself.
