Well, Z-pack is pretty useless here. Mucinex...probably not much help. Ibuprofen is fine, but again, if it's not helping with the pain then your doctor is doing you a disservice by making you suffer.
Augmentin was a better antibiotic choice. There is a fair amount of resistance to Azithromycin (Z-pack) secondary to its popularity among providers...
For 2 months now, I have had earaches, pain in upper teeth, pain in the jaw,pain in temple, pain along bridge of nose, pain under eye and above brow. I've had a full doseof augmentin and had exrays on upper teeth. I'm living on aleve or ibuprofen. Please help me.
Two weeks ago, Monday the 7th I went to the doctor with a sever sore throat and was giving Augmentin to take for 10 days (twice a day). My throat was really sore, I had a 103 degree fever, and thyroid glands were swollen. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen didn't do much to relieve the pain. The rapid strep test said I did not have strep throat, but after looking at my throat a few times the doctor believed the test was wrong and gave me Augmentin.
at that time it was only the cyst that hurt, the doctor gave the antibiotic augmentin for 7 days until 29 June 2022. after a week from the end of taking the medicine, the pain returned but the pain was no longer in the cyst, the pain changed to the lower part of the testicle and possible tail epididymitis because I found it swollen only in the left testicle. but the doctor ignored my problem and gave me Augmentin again for another 7 days, starting , 7 July until 13 July 2022.
I live in an are of NJ in which Lyme Disease is not uncommon. I removed an intact tick from my left shoulder blade area about 8 months ago. I didn't develop a "bulls-eye" rash but in the center - where the tick had actually been attached - there was a very dark red-brown surrounded by a thin whitish line and then a large red area around that. The area was sometimes itchy and sore and lasted for several weeks.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
My, almost 4 yr old, daughter has an odd symptom associated with fevers that the doctors cannot explain. Every time she gets a fever that approaches 102' she complains both hands hurt or in her words "feel yucky". Sometimes they are red and hot, sometimes cold and not red. It is always both hands and no other parts of her body. This started at 8 months of age.
Use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Avoid indigestible, spicy, foods and meats. Eat simply of wholesome food. Obtain needed out-of-door exercise, sunbaths, and swimming. It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray. Antihistamine like benadryl works by blocking your immune system's response to the allergen.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
The IV antibiotics helped as well as the eardrops. I then continued with Augmentin for another 10 days. Next week I have to go for a ct scan of my sinuses and a follow up visit to the ENT the week after.
What I am surprised about is that your ENT did not realise that you had a fungal infection to begin with. I've had them several times and the ENT knew immediately that it was a fungal infection.
Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. I finished the augmentin and I have no sore throat just thrush I recently started an anti fungal for it though. So I have some questions.
1.When someone contracts HIV are symptoms spread out like this?
2. Is 6 weeks too late to have symptoms of ARS?
3. Do you think that the thrush is medication related or HIV related, would it show up after 3 months?
Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
is it safe to take ibuprofen when pregnant? Just once? Ran out of tylenol.
