my wife has 07 months pregnancy, ultrasound shows the position longitudinal is it normal. She also has pus cell numerous, doctor advised her antibiotic augmentin, is it safe to use in 7 months pregnancy.

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18. Thank you!!

The augmentin probably isn't working as it may be a viral infection by your description. Sometimes these things take a while to go away.

Many anti-biotics are safe to use during pregnancy. Just make sure your doctor knows you are pregnant and will keep that in mind when prescribing which anti-biotic you'll use. Take care.

It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

Augmentin can cause liver damage, as can tylenol (if you take more than the recommended 4,000 mg/day). I suppose that the risk would be increased with concurrent use of augmentin and tylenol. Usually, once you have stopped taking the medication, your enzymes could trend downwards to normal. Do you take any cardiac medications (ie. amiodorone, etc)?

and i was prescribed with augmentin antibiotic and panadol. Can i ask if any of u who have went through pregnancy and have to take so much medications..especialy the local anaesthesia.

I started having vaginal itching around my vulva, in between my labia and around my anus for about 5 days now. There is nothing visible and there is no change in odor. I tried 2 of 3 days of an otc yeast medicine and had my doctor call in 1 pill of diflucan all with no relief. Your suspicions are correct with the Augmentin. If you have a viral infection, it will do nothing for it. Here's the problem. If you have a viral tonsillitis, it will get better on its own in time (about the same time that was quoted for the Augmentin!). But you are also taking Augmentin. So, won't it be tempting to say that the Augmentin is what made you better? We'll never know.

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes.
