I have a really bad sinus and upper respiratory infection and the medication I was prescribed (augmentin) isn't getting rid of it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any medications I can take that will just make my nose stop running.

4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
The same thing happened to me. It was an infection under the crown and I ended up losing the tooth because the first dentist I saw refused to remove the crown.
I hope the meds u r taking are the right antibiotic.
I used a condom from beginning to end. Also I freaked out and got script augmentin 875 that I started taking 3 days after said encounters. These were 2 different encounters. Am I at risk for stds?

I had unprotected oral sex and deep kissing. it has been almost 9 weeks and a few mouth sores appeared in my mouth :(. Although it could be from the augmentin I am taking right now ( it is my 6th day of taking augmentin). I have a bacterial infection in my throat and the doctor prescribed me this. The mouth sores appread 2 to 3 days after I started taking my medication. I read that augmentin does cause mouth sores.
1- Liver test (Hepatitis B and C)
2- General blood test (Biochemical analysis)
3- Urine test
Would my antibiotic (augmentin 1g) and the above medication affect the results of the above tests? and if so, after how long should i go to these tests whenver i stop my medication?
Please, i'm hoping someone can answer this. For the past 5 years, my enzymes have been tested 2x a year by by cardiologist as routine - they have always been perfect. So, they have been perfect for 10 tests! Now my ast is 74 - I think alt was normal. What is going on ? Could i have hep c and they've been normal for ten tests and now show up? I was on a lot of meds the month prior - augmentin, senna, tylenol, etc. Please rspond if you can?!
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.
Dr said that if it went away on Augmentin then it must be bacterial - but why would he then prescribe a yeast medication (spandnox -sorry about spelling) - wouldnt augmentin make yeast worse? Has anyone has a similar situation and had success treating the infection?? What was it treated with successfully? Is it possible this is a problem related to Group B strep?? Im pretty desperate to find a solution..
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Sorry you have been sick. So, yes. You can take over the counter medication with Augmentin and the fungal med you were given. They don't interact and there is no problem using them. One thing to remember, though, is that cough suppressants create a situation where nothing moves in your chest. Remember that coughing is a bodily function in which the point is to clear your lungs and chest of things (in this case, mucus with bacteria/fungus in it).
Just wanted to put this out there because I am running out of ideas as to what is causing my symptoms.
3 Octobers ago I had what really seemed like a yeast infection - itching, irritation and a lot of odourless discharge. I also felt like my immune system was collapsing - I started to get sore throat, painful tooth and pain from an old infection on my back. No OTC yeast medication did anything but by chance I took Augmentin for something else and it all cleared up in 2 days!
m taking the Augmentin, would it be advisable that I get tested? Is Augmentin a good medication for treating these types of infections?

I also got good news that I am to finish my current box of Bicillin (penicillin) shots and then switch to an oral long lasting Augmentin (penicillin). I took Augmentin 875 for a week when I first got sick, not knowing what I had, and I recovered from my severe flu-like symptoms in a couple of days. It worked great. I don't finish my shots until early January, but I am glad to know the end is in sight. I will no longer feel like a pin cushion!
I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep. I was feeling fine and healed until yesterday when my throat started to hurt again. I changed my toothbrush about 5 days into the antibiotic treatment and the next day it was hurting again. Is Augmentin good enough to treat this? Could it be coming back for some reason?

because I have chronic sinusitis, or strep, but he didnt take a strep test because it would come back negative because of the previous antibiotics. So he put me on Augmentin 875mg. I started that on march 29th. About a week into taking that I noticed problems with my tongue. I searched online for what this was and I found thrush, I found that some patients with hiv experience this.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
I had all symptoms of UTI but no discharge, tested my urine and diagnosed with UTI and I was put on antibiotics. I think augmenting and I felt better after the dose.

There are several bacterial resistant strains of typhoid that have developed. Continue your medication protocol and be in touch with your physician. It is likely he will prescribe another antibiotic. Augmentin may not be appropriate. Follow his advice. Drink grapefruit juice with the antibiotic.
