Been to ER, ENT, and GP several times. On two occasions, once I was given Rocephin injection, and another time had Rocephin IV. That seemed to cure my ear ringing and sick feeling for 12-24 hours. But the amox, augmentin, keflex, and bactrim-ds oral that I was given four different times will not work. The bactrim-ds did seem to help but only after 5 days of taking and I felt worse the whole week of taking them. Is there a reason the Rocephin when IM or IV works but nothing else does?
Continue your medication protocol and be in touch with your physician. It is likely he will prescribe another antibiotic. Augmentin may not be appropriate. Follow his advice. Drink grapefruit juice with the antibiotic.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

100 doctor had no answers I became my own doctor and got a ND to give me ozone IV and vitamin C IV and hydrogen peroxide IV just to make me a little more comfortable in my suffering I would be dead now if I did not have those IV to keep the level of toxicity down. That is another test worth getting is TOXICITY LEVEL Test. I had surgery twice then I was cured.

4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.

Well my whole life iv been completely healthy then last February I got a sinus infection and was given augmentin and nasal spray and once I was better I started feeling dizzy occasionally and almost fainting then it stopped for 3 months and just recently it started again today it happened but it was slightly different my ears were ringing and vision was blurry and slightly dizzy and usually my heart races and I sweat I been to two doctors both said it was nothing and the er took full blood test
was given 10 days of 875mg augmentin, start 5 days 40mg prednisone if no improvement after 3 days into Augmentin.Started prednisone Thursday. Saturday intense itching in ear, tube/jaw area, audible sloshing noise when rubbing neck/jaw area. Sunday morning during an ear irrigation at home i noticed a gray cloud like substance hanging out of my ear, rinsed it away.Week 3- finished all meds, intense pressure and pain is unbearable. anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

I got the augmentin 400-57 suspension on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday evening. It has been at room temp this entire time. How critical is refrigeration?
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
It sounds like you might need IV antibiotic therapy to get to your central nervous system lyme. I really don't think Augmentin will take care of it entirely. I would also suggest you go to lymenet dot org and post this info there. CFS/FMS are "syndromes", meaning that they are a group of symptoms with no known cause. Well in your case the cause is known. So what you have is lyme disease causing fibro and cfs. The Epstein Barr virus is very common.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
11 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a kidney infection and took a week of Levaquin, then Ceftriaxine IV, then three weeks of Augmentin. I was fine while on the medicine, but two days after I went off I started having diarrhea and/or loose/soft stools. This has lasted for 8 weeks now and so far I've not gotten any answers from the doc. They've put me on probiotics, which I've taken faithfully, to no avail. I went on a bland diet, that didn't help either.

-Myringotomy at 12 months, with 10 day run of Augmentin and 6 day run of antibiotic ear-drops post-op.

this is complicated. i heard that endometritis is a diesease that you have since the start of your meses.since your young you either get painful cramping that is undbearable i would once in a while like any other women cramps arent the same every month just like your period isnt.
2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn . ( zosyn ran for 20 hrs per day and genta for 1hr) .
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. Please, i'm hoping someone can answer this. For the past 5 years, my enzymes have been tested 2x a year by by cardiologist as routine - they have always been perfect. So, they have been perfect for 10 tests! Now my ast is 74 - I think alt was normal. What is going on ? Could i have hep c and they've been normal for ten tests and now show up? I was on a lot of meds the month prior - augmentin, senna, tylenol, etc. Please rspond if you can?!
(. Although it could be from the augmentin I am taking right now ( it is my 6th day of taking augmentin). I have a bacterial infection in my throat and the doctor prescribed me this. The mouth sores appread 2 to 3 days after I started taking my medication. I read that augmentin does cause mouth sores. It's one of it's may side effects. But I am worried still.
