Hi i got diagonised with gonnorhea on 19th october i was given ceftriaxone injection one for 5 days and ciprofloxacin 500mg *2 for five days the symptoms persisted the second time i was given three injections for three days. .
Been to ER, ENT, and GP several times. On two occasions, once I was given Rocephin injection, and another time had Rocephin IV. That seemed to cure my ear ringing and sick feeling for 12-24 hours. But the amox, augmentin, keflex, and bactrim-ds oral that I was given four different times will not work. The bactrim-ds did seem to help but only after 5 days of taking and I felt worse the whole week of taking them. Is there a reason the Rocephin when IM or IV works but nothing else does?
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

t know what Dry socket was, so I explained. Then he tried to prescribe me Augmentin, which I think is a horrible med so I asked for Penicillan and he said it's only given through injection which I also thought was strange seeing I took it a couple weeks ago before my surgery in pill form, so I settled for Amoxicillan. I'm taking that and seem ok now still getting jaw pain but not as much and I see more fleshy healing stuff at surgical site, looks better and less reddness/swelling.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
Those swabs were done with the Aptima Combo 2 Assay and came back negative. I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep. I was feeling fine and healed until yesterday when my throat started to hurt again. I changed my toothbrush about 5 days into the antibiotic treatment and the next day it was hurting again. Is Augmentin good enough to treat this?
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

I got the augmentin 400-57 suspension on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday evening. It has been at room temp this entire time. How critical is refrigeration?
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
IF you waited 48 hours after the bite then I assume you had the injection on the 10th March. People can have mild to severe reactions to the tetanus injection including what you describe but usually only lasts for a few days.
It is good to hear that your fever is gone this is a good sign.
The problem with dog bites is the saliva can carry so many things so you could have been infected by something which has not been zapped with the antibiotic.
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
Treated with Omnicef, Augmentin, Cliacin, Rocephin Shots, Bactrim, etc. Also on Claritin/Singulair at 10 months for sinus/allergy issues.
-Myringotomy at 12 months, with 10 day run of Augmentin and 6 day run of antibiotic ear-drops post-op.
-2 subsequent ear infections from 12-16 months. Treated with Augmentin, Bactrim. Still on Claritin/Singulair for sinus/allergy issues.
-Second myringotomy and adenoidectomy at 16 months. Very infected sinus cavities and ears.
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. Please, i'm hoping someone can answer this. For the past 5 years, my enzymes have been tested 2x a year by by cardiologist as routine - they have always been perfect. So, they have been perfect for 10 tests! Now my ast is 74 - I think alt was normal. What is going on ? Could i have hep c and they've been normal for ten tests and now show up? (. Although it could be from the augmentin I am taking right now ( it is my 6th day of taking augmentin). I have a bacterial infection in my throat and the doctor prescribed me this. The mouth sores appread 2 to 3 days after I started taking my medication. I read that augmentin does cause mouth sores. It's one of it's may side effects. But I am worried still.
Becaause of my history of bowel abcess and the fact the symptoms became more constant I was prescribed Augmentin. Now 2 days in I have diarrhea. Should I discontinue the augmentin? If not, what is the best way to treatthe diarrhea?
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
