"Oral" gonorrhea is actually infection of the pharynx (throat), not the mouth itself. You may or may not have had pharyngeal gonorrhea, which you could have acquired from the guy who developed gonorrhea symptoms a few days after your exposure. In view of your antibiotic treatment, most likely you'll know. To the specific questions:
Most pharyngeal gonorrhea causes no symptoms at all. When it does, sore throat is the main one; stuffy nose is not.
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
4) The symptoms cleared/ improved after taking amoxicillin and augmentin- do those antibiotics have an affect on Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Is it possible that the gonorrhea was cleared by the augmentin, and then i became re-infected again after having nprotected sex again?
5) Should i see a gynaecologist incase pelvic infalmm disease?
I apologise for the length of the text you see I am really really confused and feel as you can imagine quite baffled and upset by it all!
Should i get tested for this? im already on augmentin and amoxicillin when i saw a doctor without doing any tests.
The problem is that with the progressive development of antibiotic resistance by gonorrhea, the cure rate with either augmentin nor cipro would have cured somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 or 70% of cases. While that is most, for most recommended therapies we expect about a 95% cure rate. The same is tre for NGU where the recommended therapies would be either doxycycline or azithromycin.
m still concerned about it being oral gonorrhea since I did not receive the specific treatment for that, but I read that oral gonorrhea clears up within 3 months anyway, and I've read about studies where Augmentin, Azithromycin, and Doxycycline have had an effect on the disease. I called the health department to see if they did swab tests and they don't.
Is it likely that I caught oral gonorrhea?
levofloxacin 500mg*2 griseofulvin 500mg*2 for five day and two tablets of fluconazole the problem dissapeared but after three days it was back i went to the clinic where they performed a urethra culture but the pus was too small and dry, was given cefuroxime 500mg*2 and 1 omatasin 150mg and cital syrup i never healed, this time i am on augmentin 500mg*2 fluconazole 200mg*2 per day and flagyl 400mg*3 per day there is still pus though little and scratching of my penis what could be the problem goo
At the time of testing, they put me on a z-pac because of possible sinus infection. Yesterday they started me on 875mg Augmentin twice a day for 10 days. Yesterday I had something new in where I am experiancing some groin discomfort (approx. 2in above the left testicle). It isn't painful and comes and goes.
So my questions are:
What should my concerns be?
Would any of the STD blood work or swab show anything at all after 6 days?
Are any of my symptoms valid for STD's?
Two days later I was treated for a sinus infection and was prescribed 875mg augmentin 2x day for 7 days. Exactly 5 days after the exposure I noted some mild burning and pain at the tip of my penis. I have a history of prostatitis and I believe that's what this was (perineum pain, mild tip of penis pain). No pain on urination and no discharge. The symptoms resolved after about 10 days.
I was taking Augmentin 875mg/125 for a ear ache at the time twice a day for 10 days). According to him he never came down with anything. Then, 2 days after the occurance Monday I had sex with my girlfriend, then started feeling paranoid that could have something from the unprotected incident I am a person with anxiety as it is, so I started squeezing my penis head trying to see if there was any discharge, which there was not. I kept on squeezing all the time.
I also did gonorrhea, chlamydia and HIV tests which came back negative. My doctor gave me one dose of Zitromax, in addition i had been taking Augmentin for about 6 days due to a sinus infection.
It has been about a week and a half later and my penis has started back itching at the tip and upper urethra, it also burns slightly now and again when i urinate. The discharge is no longer there.
I am worried, does this mean that the antibiotics did not cure the infection and it is re emerging??
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

He prescibed some trymethoprim which i took for 1 week however this did not clear my symptoms so i went back. He then prescibed me some augmentin antibiotic- which seemed to clear it up, felty 99% right.
A week ago i had sex again with my boyfriend without a condom and the previous symptoms re-appeared again a few days after; - felt slighty ichy, needed to urinate more and it stung a bit, i also had a longer period than normal and sex was little more uncomfortable.
