augmentin for sore throat

I have had a sore throat now for about a week. The sore throat comes on about 8:00 p.m. It is very sore and makes it hard to swallow. It keeps me up most of the night. I finally get out of bed around 5 ish, drink a cup of hot coffee and within about an hour my sore throat is gone until around 8:00 at night again. Also in the morning then I am very hot and sweaty. Any suggestions.

I have been experiencing neck pain below my thyroid on the left side for 2 moths, suddenly the sore neck went into one side of my throat and ear Left side. It gets worse after 5-6 pm and I have to take serious pain meds to get it to calm down. I feel like I have the flu or something But I have no fever and no other symptoms. Covid tests all negative. My doctor put my on a huge dose of augmentin and it’s not helping.

i went to the the doctors and tested negative on a rapid strep test for strep throat. i also tested negative for mono through a blood test. they gave a culture to a lab for a more thorough strep test, that has not come back yet. to treat my throat they gave me augmentin (amoxicilin and clavulanate). so far i have taken one pill and i will take another in 12 hours. on my left tonsil, half of the inflamed tonsil is covered by a flap of skin.

I just got treated for Oral Gonorrhea today, had sore throat for 10 days (not today) and only for the first couple days of it was I feeling slightly fluish, so my answer is, a persisting fluctuating sore throat and inflammation.

Ok...here's the situation, I had oral sex with two guys, on different days about 3/25. One of them developed symptoms of a gonorrhea infection on about 3/30. The other has been asymptomatic. About that same time (3/25) I developed a mild sore throat and very stuffy nose. The sore throat lasted about a week, but the stuffy nose never went away. I recently took a 10 day course of augmentin for strep throat or tonsillitis (I took the prescription prior to testing to see which). Toward the end of the treatment, I started to experience some mild discomfort after urninating. Weeks later I am still experiencing that discomfort, in varying degrees. Usually if I am better hydrated it is milder. It is never terrible, just a mild burning or itching. The location is toward the tip of the penis, but inside.

I went to see my GP and he prescribed me. Cipro for 5 days....then Amoxicillan Augmentin for 10 days....and then finally Doxcylcline for 10 days. The symptoms have not gone away....and some days the symptoms are very mild and I feel it has gone away.....only to come back again. (1) Would the antibacterial treatments I received have cleared gonorrhea in the throat? (2) Will it clear on its own since from infection possible date to today have been almost 15 weeks.

Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. I finished the augmentin and I have no sore throat just thrush I recently started an anti fungal for it though. So I have some questions. 1.When someone contracts HIV are symptoms spread out like this? 2. Is 6 weeks too late to have symptoms of ARS? 3. Do you think that the thrush is medication related or HIV related, would it show up after 3 months?

Hello me, and my girlfriend have had a sore throat with mucus drainage for about 3 weeks now. Does anyone have any idea what may cause this? Allergy season is pretty much over up here, and she is on Claraitin anyways so we are not sure what it could be. Or a remedy for it.

and 4 days after the encounter i developed a swollen lymph node in my throat which had pus causing a sore throat. Should i get tested for this? im already on augmentin and amoxicillin when i saw a doctor without doing any tests.

The Next day she complained of sore throat and I too developed a sore throat after two days (pain while swallowing). I took antibiotics (amoxillin) and felt better after a day, but I did not complete the dose. A week later I notice my tonsils were swollen and had some white patches/spots. Consulted my doctor and he prescribed a stronger anti biotic (ampicillin) for which I took the complete dose. Saw no change (still white spots on swollen tonsils,NO PAIN).

After three days, i developed a bad sore throat with fever and ear infection. And my wife after 5 days developed a weird looking small canker on her lip. It was not herpes nor normal pimple. My question is what are the chances that i contracted syphilis this way? If i did, will i transmit it to my wife the next day? Hey July baby ladies, I am 35 weeks today and have been so lucky up to this point.........but yesterday I got a bad cold and am wondering what I can take to feel better. It's a stuffy/runny nose w/ sore throat, cough, headache. It seems like your basic cold but I'm miserable. Any ideas what I can safely take to ease the discomfort? thanks!!

Yes, I had one day fever 100.5 and very sore throat and developed full blown cold but fever I suspect was symptom for inflammation coming on. Because following mild neck/back/ shoulder pains, I was attacked with unbelievable painful locked shoulder joint which I believe was delayed adverse reaction from Augmentin. Never will take it again although I had it before and didn't have problem then.

Hi, I am 24 year old and I am experiencing pain on my throat for 2 weeks now. I’m afraid that if this is cancerous or not (hope it is not). Sir, I am 22 year old male, I did protected vaginal sex with a prostitute, an old women, after 40 days a had sore throat, high fever and severe Lower joint pain, I have given antibiotics ie augmentin and Dolo for fever my fever gone in 4 days and joint pain in 2 to 3 days after taking the medicine but had sore throat with white exudate on it which also gone in 5 days by antibiotic. This did not resolve the sore throat and the doctor prescribed ofloxacin 800g to be taken for five days. After five days,the sore throat was resolved but for only a week. It again recurred and this time the doctor prescribed Augmentin 2g to be taken for seven days. After seven days, the sore throat was resolved completely but then plentiful,tiny sort of pinhead rashes started appearing on my forehead that spread to upper chest, neck and the back.
