I am on Yasmin, the 28 days one. I just finished my course of antibiotics [Augmentin] - took the last pill this morning. I also took the last of my active yasmin pills in the pack last night. I will drink my first inactive pill tonight, BUT today I had unprotected sex. What should I do? I just bought Norlevo emergency contraception (single intake 2 tablets). But if I take it, I won't be able to see if my period does come.

But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!

so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.

Im on Yasmin. It helps to regulate my period each month, also helps to protect me against pregnancy at this point too. Yasmin is the only pill I've been on, so I don't know much about Ortho.

I am 19 and I have the same problem i was on yasmin and blood pressure went high stopped b.c. all together for around 8 months recently got back on it about 3months ago and my blood pressure is around 156/130...I am wondering the same thing perhaps is there any bc that will not make blood pressure high???

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. hi, I'm currently on Yasmin, to control my heavy periods. I've been on the pill for about a year and a half. Recently I'm becoming more and more irritated, anxious and angry. Last week I had an "episode" ( not sure what else to call it) but I completely freaked out. Now I am only 21. Basically what happened was I couldn't find the car key, and I kept calling my mother but she wouldn't answer her cellphone.

I am also off depo for 14 months now. My dr put me on yasmin for 2 months to regulate my cycle because I didn't have a period. So I have been off yasmin for 7 months now and I have been on and off clomid the past 6 months and it didn't work. Is it possible that the depo shot is causing me not to get pregnant? How long does it actualy take to work out of your system? I've only used it once.

(on saturday the 9th) And am now on week 3 of yasmin. my period is due this week. Do i continue taking yasmin? or should i stop taking it and start again on the first day of my period?

Hi. I was on Yasmin three years, after that I was on Zoladex and now I am on Yasmin again. I don't know for sure, but I think that Yasmin prevents ovulation and it makes harder for sperm to reach uterus (it is harder for the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus). I have read this: The primary mechanism of Yasmin is inhibition of ovulation.

So I hear (and I have also read) that yasmin is AWESOME for women with PCOS.. Any comments? I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.

i just began taking yasmin today (never taken birth control before). so just now i began doing my research on yasmin, and it seems that the side effects are crazy! i cant say anything because this is only my day. i know pills work differently for everyone but i am really quite scared. what should i do? anyone have any good stories about yasmin??

Also I tried probably 3 or 4 different BCPs before I started Yasmin and all the others didnt help and they didnt make me feel like myself I felt tired and emotional all the time..Yasmin was perfect.. Oh yeah and I dont get a period without BC but Yasmin gave me one each month...I could count on when I would get it to the hour..

Reading all of the posts on another part of this forum elated to yasmin and yaz is very scary. My life has been seriously affected by taking yasmin for four years. If I only knew back then what I know now. Please consider the long term effects of taking any birth control pill, not just yasmin or yaz. They primarily work by putting your ovaries to sleep. The pill shuts down your own natural production of hormones and replaces them with lab manufactured hormones.

It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife. The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.

was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. I take Marvelon21 and have since my surgery 4yrs ago. I am wondering if its the ingredients in the yasmin that could be doing it besides the progestin and estrogen? Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

I've bin taking Yasmin for over a year and planning to fall pregnant early next year ( before March), How soon can I stop taking them?

I would say to try the pill out for a few months, like 3 UNLESS your symptoms get worse. The body needs time to adjust to any bcp and 3 months is the normal. I'm on Yasmin too and never had any problems with it. Yasmin is one of the top bcp that is given to woman with pcos because most woman can tolerate it better then other bcp. The only thing I've found while taking Yasmin (and I think this goes for ALL bcp) it raises my blood pressure a little.

i took yasmin for nearly one year then stopped(my periods were regular while taking yasmin), got pregnant after 2months of stopping yasmin, but unfortunately it was ectopic and so i lost it. i would advice you to be careful once you stop yasmin. Also i was taking caltrate(vitaminD+calcium) tablets once a day.
