My daughter was diagnosed with NEC last week and hearing and understanding this condition was the scariest moment of my life. She had to have surgery and seems to be doing well now, but I an always afraid she will not be. How did you guys get over the fear of NEC?

how often does nec affect premature babys born at just 25 weeks and birth weight of 1lb 50z. how early does this show up and what is the prognoisis considering the baby is in other wise good health?

My son survived a nasty battle with NEC. He is now 17 months old 12 months adjusted and is starting to walk and talk! I had twins at 23 weeks. My son, Ryan did not make it. Jacob has been through it all, 18 surgeries in total. He is alive and thriving and his central line was removed yesterday! NEC is horrible, but yes it's possible to survive.

Since the surgery three days ago her blood pressure is up and down and she is Desating on and off and she has been put on an oscillator to help her breath. The doctors don't know what is wrong with her. Has anyone had an experience like this with their baby and can maybe give me some advice? desperate to find the answer.

NEC is a disease condition to the intestines that may happen with premature infants. Your infant would be sicker than just constipation. Suggest using Alimentum infant formula with constipation and it will also give her the nutrients she needs.

so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife. The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.

Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

He thought I had a secondary infection in the uterus and gave me Augmentin to take along with the other I am taking. It has been 36 hours and my breast is still really red and sore. I don't know what to do! I am worried that it may lead to sepsis?? Or should I not be worried since I am taking augmentin? It is the weekend, so I can't call my doc again. I haven't had a recurrence of fever or chills. Was the fever just a symtom of Mastitis?

4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness. Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.

They also removed her icv as well and the appendix. She was left with a iliostomy and a borviac line. They told me she has short bowel syndrome. She is tpn dependent right now and they are trying to give her some oral feeds just to stimulate her gut and make it grow. They told me she is dumping a lot and when they give her feeds she seems to take very long to digest it and pass it down.They also said she is a very special case because alhtough she seems to dump alot she is still growing.

to treat my throat they gave me augmentin (amoxicilin and clavulanate). so far i have taken one pill and i will take another in 12 hours. on my left tonsil, half of the inflamed tonsil is covered by a flap of skin. that skin is very irratated and red, this is probably due to the skin stretching as well as my tonsils having issues in general. the back of my throat (not my tonsils) are covered in small "blisters" or "pimples" the kind you sometimes get under your tongue.

Is it possible that i irrateded my urethra from this. on may 5 i took some augmentin 4 pills 875mg and 2 pills the each day following. Total 14 pills. Stupid i know. ve been experience throbbing pain around upper right teeth, my cheek, front and back of my head, and I have swollen painful gum around my right side of my face, and I right shoulder is aching. And I think lymph nose under my chin is swollen. The right side of my face, neck, around ear and back of my head hurt if I push those areas. But I do not have a runny or stuffy nose. I do know that there is a little drainage going down the back of my throat, but it is really a little amount.

Augmentin and Zocor have been known to be potentially hepatotoxic. Tylenol is safe, if it is taken as directed (less than 4,000 mg/daily). I imagine that those 3 drugs taken together can increase the potential for damage to the liver. Have you talked with your doctor about possibly substituting another lipid lowering drug...and getting off the Zocor? Are you still taking Augmentin? Remember to be careful about your tylenol intake...

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

I got the augmentin 400-57 suspension on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday evening. It has been at room temp this entire time. How critical is refrigeration?
