augmentin

Avatar m tn Are you on any antibiotics? and yes sounds like you are getting better.... Glandular Fever does usually take about 2 weeks....
Avatar n tn Yes, I had one day fever 100.5 and very sore throat and developed full blown cold but fever I suspect was symptom for inflammation coming on. Because following mild neck/back/ shoulder pains, I was attacked with unbelievable painful locked shoulder joint which I believe was delayed adverse reaction from Augmentin. Never will take it again although I had it before and didn't have problem then.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I really hope you can help me. I recently had a 4th generation HIV test, 6 weeks post exposure, which turned out negative. However, since my exposure, I've had ARS symptoms including a sore throat, fatigue and muscle weakness. 12 weeks post exposure I went to the doctors and had general 'blood tests'. Today, the doctor told me tat my 'antibodies' were high and I probably had glanduar fever.
Avatar f tn i caught or develped a severe case of Glandular fever when i was 18 years old.....and it lastes for a massive 2 years to get totally rid of the fevers......depression....aches and pains..swelling.....this was an extremely long time to have Glandualr Fever for ive been told....but the worst of is subsided at around 9 months.....and then symptoms lingered for about 2years.........I became unwell with tiredness...panic attacks....extreme cold......
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed Metronidazole for that, and two days later I had a horrible fever and chills all night long (which I thought was a side effect of the Metronidazole) and my right breast was horribly red and really sore! I also had a cramp in the right side ovary. I went back to the doc, for the ovary pain (thinking the breast thing would resolve itself I stupidly didn't mention it to him).
Avatar f tn t doing enough. The last course was cut short because a blood test showed I have glandular fever. My asthma has been very calm for years, last major attack was about 4 years ago due to hamster babies. I feel kinda odd about the whole situation, because as soon as the phrase glandular fever fell, that was it. I was told to rest, and wait it out. No one mentioned the chest infection or the asthma.
Avatar f tn I asked her if I could have had glandular fever recently and I am still tired from that as well and she said she didn't know but it could be possible, again, she was only concerned about my vitamin D levels. When I was a teenager I suffered from fatigue but I was never diagnosed with anything. I got sick of being poked and prodded and refused to have anymore tests. The doctors were thinking that I had a muscle weakness which they likened to chronic fatigue syndrome.
Avatar n tn I went to see my doctor in mid Nov and she ordered a blood test to check for glandular fever right away.. i thought this seemed ridiculous as i felt completely fine apart from the irritated throat but i went ahead and got the test done. Between the time of the test and getting the results back i started to feel really weird and i knew something was wrong. I became dizzy and off balance, very tired and anxious.
Avatar m tn I have had generally felt bad since Saturday and i went to the doc on Monday and he gave me Augmentin. I am still having these chills and sweats. Has anybody else had these symptoms latley??
Avatar f tn Your GP probably suspects glandular fever and thus has referred you to a CFS specialist. Many a times glandular fever can result in chronic fatigue syndrome, hence we need to wait and see what the specialist suggests. Swollen lymph nodes can cause pain in arms but not in legs. Yes, swollen tender glands in the upper neck can cause a pain in the ear. While you wait for your appointment drink plenty of fluids, rest when you are tired and try and regain your energy.
442628 tn?1204892851 I was told I had acute bronchitis and the augmentin and steroids . The steroids I've been on when I had a pinched nerve . But the augmentin is making it hurt like a UTI.
Avatar n tn In all probability you son has asthma or allergic bronchitis, and any inflammation can cause low grade fever. Many viral conditions like EBV (glandular fever) behave in this way with recurrent respiratory infections. Many parasitic infestations and worms increase the eosinophil counts in the blood and thus cause an increased risk of upper respiratory infections. If diabetes runs in the family, then this should also be looked into. He needs appropriate treatment after the cause is found.
Avatar f tn Infection of some sort....could be coming down with the flu or glandular fever...If you not any better in 2 days - consult your GP..
Avatar n tn HI, I have some bumps on my chest all the time. They're not very noticable to other people, but that's not why I'm concerned. I'm wondering if they could be caused by low vitamin A? This wouldn't surprise me as I have gone through a period where I had little appetite due to glandular fever. I also have got spots on my face in the past 6 months and Iv never really had spots before.
Avatar m tn Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in typhoid, tuberculosis, hepatitis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, sinusitis, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, HIV, STDs, endocarditis, parasitic infestations (like malaria), fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. It can even be diabetes and hyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn Hi I am Jhon 26 year old man. Recently I have developed a rash on my right armpit which is non itchy and also it's spread in form of 1 or 2 spot on my shoulders which is and then disappear. I feel heavyheadness with it and a bit dizzy or sick. I went to doc and she told me u have glandular fever bt I ain't like very sick. I went to another doc and he told me u don't haw glandular fever. The rash ll go an headache has nothing to do with fever .
Avatar m tn ve had protected/unprotected sex with 5 persons. Before being diagnosed with Glandular fever, I was treated with Ceftriaxone and Azithromycin (for 5 days) because drs thought I had strep throat. Last Monday, I noticed a cold sore on my lower lip. It was the first time I remember having something like that on my face, so I self-treated it with OTC cream. Before that, on Sunday night, I was getting ready to go to work, so I trimmed my hair (I use scissors).
Avatar m tn I visited a infectious disease consultant today, who has seen those bloods and thinks it could be glandular fever (even tho my test was negative), and has recommended a HIV test. Seeing as my IM was negative and the symptoms of Acute HIV and glandular fever are very similar (I have high white blood count and swollen nodes, with night sweats) do you think this could be HIV?
Avatar f tn I had some blood tests done Last week which showed a slight leukopenia (0.9) and neutropenia (3.5) but no atypical lymphocytisis. EBV (glandular fever) antibodies were positive to Igm but not igG. Do I have glandular fever or should I get hiv testing done? I have ready that there is cross reactivity with the EBV antibodies that can lead to false positive igm results in acute Hiv.
Avatar n tn I am 29, had CFS/ME diagnosed 3 mnths ago - looking into Fybromyalgia too currently. I had glandular fever 3 yrs ago and symptoms started from there onwards, over a year ago I was getting fever-flu symptoms every 6-7 weeks for about a year - very distressed, seemed riduculous and didnt know what was wrong............after lots to trips to doctor, we are putting it down to CFS or even Fybromyalgia now.
1573842 tn?1295908570 Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in tuberculosis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, sinusitis, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, endocarditis, parasitic infestations, fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. It can even be diabetes and hyperthyroidism. Avatar n tn has a fever for more than 72 hours with headache and inflammed tonsils with dirreha.
Avatar m tn In the US, there is disease called mononucliosis, glandular fever here in Australia, it is entirely possible you have caught this. Glandular fever is also called The Kissing Disease, as carriers dont know they have it. Swollen lymph glands in your neck, groin and under arms are a symptom. A simple blodd test will answer you question.
Avatar n tn On Monday I went doctor since I had some fever and sore throat, he said it was tonsillitis and prescribed me Augmentin 500g (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium) and paracetamol. Okay now I don't have fever anymore and I don't feel the pain, it's getting better so I've stoped with paracetamol. But since yesterday I've started to have diarrhea. It's painless, I just notice some sounds in my stomach and a sudden need to go wc.
Avatar m tn Thaks or your reply. I tested negative today thank goodness. You do a great job here. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn I was taken off clindamycin mid-treatment (I was feeling dramatically better, but was taken off it before infection was totally gone for blood tests) and am now trying to play catch-up, back on it and augmentin at the same time. Thanks!
Avatar f tn 4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness. Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
