After few days i observed penile pain (like needle in the shaft/glans) only, i got very much worried and tensed. In last week of dec'2013, i developed so much fatigue. So i got tested for STD'S on 30 dec'2013 from GP ( only hiv+hepetitis B+Syphilis+ chalymydia) only. All were negative. After that i was on Augmentin for 7 days.On 7th Jan'14, i developed red-rash only on meutus of penis.

t have prostatitis (i had a cyst on prostate which was drained and i was given antibiotics in November), i had also Enterococcus which was treated with Augmentin (checked urine culture, sterile). I did find although that i had Trich, for which i was treated with Nifuratel for 20 days (in Europe), need a follow up to see if its gone. My question is, have i damaged any nerves on penile glans that result in this pain? Is it permanent, do i have to live with this pain forever?

It is also found in soil, water and plants. Entrococcus faecalis is transmitted by touch and can also be contracted through public restrooms and animal fecal matter. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have some red sports on my penis and I was absolutely sure it is candida ( because it had all the simptoms: bad smell, white discarghe, ichness etc) and I made a penile swab, but the only result was enterococcus spp. Could this be the cause of my balanitis? or is it possible to have something else, that didn't come up at the lab.

I've been recently diagnosed with enterococcus and it caused urinary tract infection. Now, my question is - could enterococcus be transmitted on other persons through kissing (via saliva etc.)? Is it present in the mouth? And in what ways enterococcus is transmitted anyway? What kind of complications could it cause?

so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

If they are, I just recommend that you do the prebiotic/probiotic thing along with for your best chance to get over this. And if it keeps going on and on, fecal transplants apparently do wonders. Let me know how you are doing, I feel your pain.

I finished the course and went back for culture and it still came back positive for enterococcus. She then put me on a higher dose of Ampicilling (850mg) and said I should see a Urologist or Urogyn. I went to Urologist and have had a bladder/kidney ultrasound which was negative, postvoid residual scan results = scant, and I am scheduled for a cystoscopy next week. I have taken Cipro 500, Levofloxacin 2 different times and I still have this enterococcus bacteria. It will not go away.

Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I have Raynaud syn suspected, tonsillectomy done, mitral valve prolapse, acne papulopustulosa, painful menstruations, but regular, and sometimes UTI.

It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.

Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

Enterococcus faecalis is suspectible to Ampicilin,penicilin,rifampin,norfloxacin,vancomycin,linezolid and is resistant to tetracycline and synercid.I'm temporary in US and I have no insurance and I wonder is it wise to take any of these antibiotics,even though I was told by a doctor that antibiotic hardly get to this area and do the work,is there any possibility to eliminate this bacteria in my urine?

He thought I had a secondary infection in the uterus and gave me Augmentin to take along with the other I am taking. It has been 36 hours and my breast is still really red and sore. I don't know what to do! I am worried that it may lead to sepsis?? Or should I not be worried since I am taking augmentin? It is the weekend, so I can't call my doc again. I haven't had a recurrence of fever or chills. Was the fever just a symtom of Mastitis?
