Augmentin and diabetes

Common Questions and Answers about Augmentin and diabetes

Avatar f tn when I was on meds, but suddenly one day it plummetted to the lows, I have been on a lot of antibiotics for 3 months trying to heal Chronic Intertistial Cystitis, but this did not work, I was on a drug called Elmiron and Macrodantin, also Augmentin Forte, and other meds, so hopefully this upset the apple cart. I am very miserable and not feeling the best though.
Avatar f tn I was put on Augmentin 625mg and then asked to take another culture report after 14 days. The latest culture report showed no signs of the bacteria BUT I am still presenting with high frequency of urination and a constant burning sensation that persists throughout the day (the burning sensation is not necessarily isolated to when passing urine) and seems to get worse when I try and lie down in bed. Please help as I am unaware why I am still experiencing these symptoms.

Avatar n tn I am once again trying to exercise and work toward losing weight, because I know that all of my weight is causing the troubles with asthma and reflux/gerd. My doctor even prescribed metformin, a diabetes medication, to attempt to help me get some of this weight off because it is unbearable and causing more problems for me. However...
Avatar n tn I'm sure hoping someone may be able to help me! I go to a cardiologist and my bloodwork - taken March 6 - showed ast at 74 and I think my alt was ok. I DO NOT DRINK AT ALL. Anyway, he asked about meds and I said no. Of course, when I got home, I remembered that i had bronchitis prior to my blood taken: 1. I took augmentin 500 mg. for 10 days - 2 X a day from Feb. 2- feb 12 2. I did some NYQUIL - probably 5 night's worth 3. I had taken approx. 10 tylenol p.m.
Avatar f tn I have also been very sick with flu like symptoms, a new rash that my dr. believes is Psoriasis; and now I have croup and heavy coughing. My GP put me on 875 mg Augmentin a week ago. my breast is hurting worse. I have Type 1 Diabetes, Hashimotos, Fibromyalgia, Asthma, Gastroperisis and severe GERD. I had to have a biopsy of right breast in Februarys, 2014 due to calcium deposits. it was negative for cancer!

Avatar n tn My ears won't pop, sore throat for over 2 weeks, sinuses by my nose ache and behind my left eye throbs. Given Augmentin and Sudafed, felt slightly better the first day, thought that did the trick, but back to feeling the same way. Also have had tinnitis for years. I am a military wife with 3 kids, no family local and my husband is out to sea for another 5 months. I can't deal with this feeling of passing out. Sinusitis? Could I have a fungal infection in my sinuses?
Avatar f tn Some common causes of shaking include Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, severely low calcium levels, erratic blood pressure, diabetes and illnesses that make you feel weak, such as heart disease, liver failure and autoimmune disorders. Sometimes you may feel palpitations or fluttering in your chest that you assume are digestive in nature. Your body may tremble when you run a fever or feel a chill.
Avatar n tn they usually last a week, go away for a week, then return. the people at my job think i'm crazy. my doctor has got me on augmentin (antibiotic), zyrtec, and fluticasone (nasal spray-corticosteroid). this has been going on for 4 months. i turned 30 in sept. when i went to the dr. she told me that we were trying to keep the hives down for 3 months. when i was there it was an off week for the hives. well...they were back a week later in full force.
Avatar n tn I have a similar condition that has taken me YEARS to properly diagnose-- on my own (doctors were clueless)! It is most likely LB or CV and requires a 7 day treatment with Augmentin 500 mg or bicarbonate sitz baths. Hopefully this site will clarify things for you.
Avatar n tn I have been on antivirals, Pennicillin V for 4 weeks, Augmentin for 20 days, Singular, and Clairnex D. After about a week on the antihistime the head pressure has gotten a bit better but the nodes are the same or worse. I keep getting nothing from my docs, blood work is normal, CT scans normal, MRI normal.
Avatar m tn Hi, Before considering Xolair, you need to make sure that you have covered all other allergy treatments - testing and immunotherapy, good antihistamine (like Zyrtec and Allergra), strict allergen exposure controll... Your insurance company will require "proof" that all these measures have been tried before aproving Xolair treatment. If that doesn't improve your asthmna, it sounds like Xolair maybe a good option for you.
Avatar n tn The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
Avatar m tn I have ruled out peripheral neuropathy (pain in the extremities due to Diabetes), and my blood sugar and liver blood tests all come out fine. The itch is not athletes foot (I know because I have had athletes foot), and wouldn't apply because it's on my hands occasionally. The itch is not due to dry skin because I 1) use moisturizers, 2) live in very humid San Francisco, and 3) it is a deep itch with no visible symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have blistered and peeled my entire body 3times, my feet and toes are on their 5time, and feel like they will continue to blister and peel again. I have been being treated by an ENT and Dermatology. After 8weeks, my skin still hurts and itches. My dermatologist determined that the rash I have been experiencing is related to the augmentin. Kikuchi can also have a rash. I have had multiple blood draws during the last 2 months.
Avatar f tn His doctor put him on augmentin, but after 3 days, the swelling still has not gone down, nor has his headaches stopped. My son has had juvenile diabetes since age 5, and has mild related symptoms of autism. His doctor stated that he has a sinus infection, but ct scan did not show any signs of infection. Could you please give me some advice and what to do next?
Avatar n tn I also get a lot of pressure in my neck and feel like blood is shooting up into my head at times so that my head feels like its going to explode. I have had all of these symptoms for about 6 weeks and my Dr. has given me augmentin, Clarythromycin, Depo Medrol injections and anti histamines and none helped. The anti histamines made it worse. Dr. said I had a middle ear infection but tryed a new dr. who said no fluid in the ear.
Avatar f tn Yeah, tingling is one of my main symptoms as well...but it's not constant. If yours is constant, then I bet it has everything to do with the buldging disk!!! Good luck!!!
Avatar m tn He gave me candid-b to apply and augmentin as anti-biotic. But he said balanoposthitis can be caused by diabetes. How much is balanoposthitis related to diabetes. I will get tested after completing my anti-biotic course.
Avatar m tn I have been to ENT and had MRI scan, nothing wrong with inner ear, the ONLY TIME it went away was when i cleared my hep-c virus when on treatment, it came back soon as i relapsed (virus come back) ive studied and studied on this subject and iam at the conclusion that mine is caused from my immune system constantly on attack mode trying to fight off the virus in my blood stream - ive read somewhere that its possible that its causing tinnitus - Ive also been eating sugary foods at night and slippi

Avatar n tn All physical exams have been normal for sensations and strength. He examined the MRI and suggested a Lumbar Puncture and tests for Lyme Disease, Syphalis, and HIV. All are negative! Which is great, however, symptoms are getting worse again, and I am at a loss at what to do next. This has all caused considerable stress and anxiety which has sent me to a Psychiatrist and has me taking Xanex when needed. Wanted to see make sure we are not missing anything! Feel fine otherwise.
Avatar f tn I know how easy it is to blame it for everything because it affects everything in one way or another, but my diabetes is under good control and I see one member of my team every 3-4 months in order to keep everything in check and in line. I will ask the neurologist if there is an opthalmic member of his group. Thank you!
Avatar n tn i used to have of these before on and off but recently they just dont seem to be going away!!! i have tried, augmentin, kladic, fluxofullin and some others but nothing seems to be working. i am waiting now to get it checked out in a hospital and have been advised to clean the infected area out with salt and boiling water.. i have done so but am finding the cleaning is making my skin slightly irritable and sensitive! i am wondering if u could help me with trying to prevent it.
