While on tx, and since, and aside from the tx-induced headaches, weight loss, fuzzy vision, emotional situations, body aches, platelete-openia, anc-openia, hair issues, sleep issues, injection site soreness, blood sugar roller coater - I've never been in better health. Not a hint of a cold, flu in a year. You bet, tx can solve some problems.
After having sex I read that Levaquin may not be effective against some strains of gonorrhea. I then started taking augmentin 500 Mg TID after sex yesterday and today(I had this as well---I know this is stupid) . I went to get my urine tested for gonorhea at an anonymous lab today but they said the results would take 48 hours and with the symptoms I have it is possible that it won't even show up. Why would it not show up in the test?
hi 28yr old female, i have been dealing with a severe sinus infection for about 2 mos, severe pressure in face and ears, swollen, painful lympnodes on skull, i have been put on augmentin, predensone, vicodin for pain and now another anitbiotic levquin, nothing seems to be helping, had a ct scan of sinuses, doc says it is definatley sinusitus. i am scared. has anyone had the lymph node problem before. any advice on what to do next? i feel like i am losing my mind. thanks.
It's not the same as the regular-yogurt-on-the-go drinks, but it's called Actimel which has 10 times the active cultures in it that yogurt does and it's proven to boost immunity and is great for the digestive tract. All of these measures have paid off for me, as the infections have significantly dropped off. I think the key is to be consistent in your preventive measures. Hope this is helpful. 6 months have past and I still feel sick.
Lately I find I am short of breath and wake up through the night frequently with heart racing and gasping for air.
I have also bought some urine strips and have found there is glucose in my urine from time to time( bloodwork is good for kidneys and dibeties).
Any ideas?
First, I was diagnosed by my doctor with a sinus infection, although it was probably very slight. She prescribed me Augmentin and I took it for 5 days and immediately started feeling bad on it. After I quit taking it, I noticed some tingling in my hands and feet at work on Thursday the 11th. The next evening, Friday, my legs started to feel unsteady and heavy when I walked and my hands and arms remained tingly and had perceived weakness.
However, I also have very tender lymph nodes all over my neck and under my chin. I've been taking Augmentin and Prednisone in case there is an infection causing this, but so far no drastic improvement. Also did Benadryl a few days in case of an allergic reaction causing this but that hasn't improved it either.
Today I went to my ENT (who in the past had recommended sinus surgery) and he agreed with the other Dr.
I have all my blood work done, the only thng that came up was I was within range but on the lower end of vitamin D (30) and my blood sugar was slightly raised 1 point. My OB put me on birth control (even though I had my tubes tied after my 3rd two years ago) because she thinks I have low estrogen which is causing the cyst. This has me so stressed out I developed anxiety because I feel like I am dying of some rare disease! I am stressed to the max and just need answers!
My nose also cleared up. I then went back to the doc and asked him to do the allergies tests on me (blood and urine) to which they concluded that I wasnt allergic to anything. A few months later I moved to the UK, away from my smoking father and pets. Now everytime I go near my boyfriends cats or someone who is smoking my eyes itch, my nose clogs up and I sneeze like crazy.

I've gone on a low sugar, no caffeine, no dairy diet and taking a daily, d3, garlic supplement and probiotic. Not sure its helping but trying to help my body with whatever this is.
I've seen my MD, infectious disease specialist, ENT, Endochronologist and Allergist and have run out of options.
Any thoughts/insight on next steps would be appreciated cause this thing is not going away on its own and its severely affecting my work and life in general. Thanks.
The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
I have a similar condition that has taken me YEARS to properly diagnose-- on my own (doctors were clueless)! It is most likely LB or CV and requires a 7 day treatment with Augmentin 500 mg or bicarbonate sitz baths. Hopefully this site will clarify things for you.

On April 16th, I had tingling in my hands and feelings of pure exhaustion. My blood pressure was lower than normal (for me) and I felt somewhat light headed. I had my girlfriend bring me to the ER where I had labs, urine and chest x-ray, all of which were normal.
A few days later, I was working in art class (still feeling very sick) with an x-acto knife that wasn't especially clean and jabbed myself in the thumb. It'd been 11 years since my last tetanus booster.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is possible you will never gain feeling. I had a "average" removal of my wisdom teeth (impacted).. I stayed awake through the procedure( not a great idea) Next month it will be a year since I have have had any feeling in the right side of my tongue, and severe nerve damage over my entire bottom gums and my right upper face... nerves are weird...My days are a constant battle of pain and burning sensations...
I have ruled out peripheral neuropathy (pain in the extremities due to Diabetes), and my blood sugar and liver blood tests all come out fine.
The itch is not athletes foot (I know because I have had athletes foot), and wouldn't apply because it's on my hands occasionally.

Actually it is normal and common for blood sugars to rise during sickness and infections I would suggest maybe straining some tea made out if cinnamon or applying it directly to his infection as I have done this on various occasions and it is know to have antimicrobicrobial and antiseptic properties to help with infections and also helps the body to posses insulin more effectively and is known lower blood sugars.
Couple of weeks ago it came back with some dizziness or lack of concentration, and some ocassional back pain, and from one week ago( Ive had some abdominal pain on the lower-left quadrant of my abdominal and my side. I freaked out and went to the hospital, they did some blood, urine work and ultrasound and said everything was normal that it was just anxiety.
for about 2 years it was just a very low hum in RIGHT EAR and just random (but at nights when lying down trying to sleep) - i put up with it as wasnt too bad but now its got much worse (louder and every night) and there is also a ringing (like pressure build up when blood rushes to your head - that sort of noise you hear when you pass out) but that ringing is VERY low but possibly because the hum is overpowering it, I can hear the ring when I put my head under water in the bath, i noticed once
He/she should probably run some blood work to not only check your blood sugar levels (if you do make an appt with them, be sure not to eat/drink anything before you go just in case they do do bloodwork - it could throw off the blood sugar results) - but they also should check ALL your electrolytes and also check for signs of infection. With the pain and swelling in your cheek and neck, it's quite possible that there is still infection there.
My doctor drew some blood when I reported these symptoms, and the blood came back with no problems and he diagnosed me with "viral infection" and prescribed famiclovir. I have seen a dermatologist for discoloration on my lower lips just below the vermillion, he diagnosed it as contact dermatitis, but they remain after a week in spite of using desonide cream.
my husband has had this since december of 2010. he has took k-flex, cipro, augmentin, clindamycin,and bactrim. he also had to take diflucan for a severe case of yeast from the antibiotics. his infection is still ongoing. after 5 solid months of antibiotics, i would think it would resolve. his doctor doesnt seem to have any other options about what he should do. he is a west-coast truck driver, and has been unable to work since january.
After my UTIs last went away a week ago (with an expensive treatment of Augmentin) it has popped up again with a vengeance. I have more casts and white blood cells in my urine, and now I have to go to a urologist. Is there anything I can do to prevent UTIs or does this sound like something structural?

My Father (65 yrs age) is being diagnosed having TB and under AKT4 along with Augmentin 1000 DUO and Benadon 40mg (1/2).
He is a diabetic patient and got this infection when his sugar level was high (2 months back), though it is now in controlled level (FBS: 110 and PPBS: 165).
He is is taking Janumet 2 tab everyday for diabetic along with above TB medication.
Now he is having fever of 100/101 only during night time.
I am now back to almost all liquids. On top of all this I have chronic severe sinusitis and have been on Augmentin for one month.Most recently had an MRI that showed some small irregular white spots that the Neurologist said looked within the normal range. am scheduled for a Ctscan of head and face in two days. I live in an isolated area of Alaska and we do not have access to many specialists. The Prevacid does seem to help some and so does taking digestive enzymes.
