Common Questions and Answers about Atripla long term

atripla

Avatar n tn I am wondering what else would cause these perfect HIV symptoms? How long in the system does it take Atripla to work and start fighting down the HIV? How long before Antibodies are present when you have bad symptoms? I would think you would have to have substantial antibodies to have extreme symptoms? Please anyone help. Thanks!
1012649 tn?1256229718 Hi. My doctor recently changed my meds from Atripla to the same combination but in two tablets which is Sustiva and Truvada which has emtricitibine in it too. I checked, and these are the same ingredients in Atripla. He changed it because I had a "blip" in my viral load. Viral load was at one point after taking Atripla "undedectable" for about 10 months, then went up to 45 then 3 months later tp 65.

Avatar f tn I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
Avatar m tn nPEP success rate is 86% apx.
Avatar m tn t even fully write my prescription for Atripla. He only wrote the name of it and how long I should have it for (4 weeks.) I went to 3 pharmacies to have it filled. Had a breakdown at one because I couldn't wait another day. I needed it. Until one of the men working there said "Oh this is a once a day pill anyway. Here" and filled it for me.
Avatar m tn s however I have been experiencing major Urinary issues, skin burning/ irritation sensations of all my mucos membrane areas (if that makes sense) Drs say they are not aware of any of these side affects but I know long term side affects are not really known at this time.... any input would greatly be appreciated....
Avatar n tn I am a gay male who is HIV- (one previous partner in last 6 months [3 months ago] tested negative 3 days ago). I began dating a guy a couple weeks ago and early this week, we were foolish and began having unprotected anal intercourse. I was the top and entered him (with lubrication) for approximately one minute (tops--probably more like 15 seconds). We stopped, but then later, I re-entered him (no lubrication) for approximately one more minute before stopping. I did not ejaculate in him.
Avatar m tn I had neuro syphilis (rash, lost some hearing stage 2 i believe it was) about 2 years ago and went on atripla at that time. There was a few months (from December 2012 until about June 2013) i was off the meds due to my insurance/cost etc. Back in October 2012 i had all my blood was negative for syphilis and all numbers were great.
Avatar m tn Hi Doc, I'm a heterosexual male from Thailand (Sorry for my poor English) On the night of August 1st i had unprotected vaginal sex with a girl who i later found out to be HIV+ We had sex 3 times that night (all vaginal).
Avatar m tn Atripla is not a good choice then.
Avatar n tn My partner was exposed to hiv during anal intercourse and is currently taking my Atripla. I am undetectable. Should we continue the Atripla or should he be on nPEP at all ??
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed in dec after a 5day stay in hospital discharged as neg but tild to call doc in 3days some blood work was not ready. Avatar m tn I am a HIV+ patient since may last year and I have started my treatment around july with the prescription of endurant (rilpivirine) and Truvada till now. Short-term side effects like headace were disappeared long ago. However, 4 months after the commence of treatment, there are noticeably green color veins appeared on my thigh and calf as well as the inner side of my arm. The physician in charge of my case has no idea what it happens, but it really worries me a lot.
Avatar f tn He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?
Avatar f tn Good day all. I am taking atripla as pep. I am reading scary stuff that hiv could be resistant to are drugs. Is it possible that the hiv strain could be resistant to all 3 components of atripla rendering it useless? Two components are the same as truvada.
Avatar f tn I opened the package to see what it was because he never takes medicine and I thought something was wrong. After some research I found out that Atripla is for treating HIV. He has been taking it for 5 months now (it said the original date on the rx). Needless to say I freaked out and about had a panic attack. I have not asked him about it yet, but I am going to. I want to go get tested ASAP but I cant until Monday morning.
Avatar m tn I am new at this I just hope she is doing the right thing, she mention that she was going to start me out on Atripla which is only 1 pill, how do you feel about the medication the doctor is going to prescibe for me. I to can't understand why she didn't start me off immediately on the medication.
Avatar m tn I was on Atripla (with Tenofovir) and my hip bone became nearly inoperable. It affected my bones big time. Since then, I was told I had Periodontal Disease, but I don't believe it's a disease. My teeth are spotless. I floss twice daily and brush gently. I never drink soda or candy. I even gave up on alcohol. I think it's an issue of digestion and food quality. GMOs surfaced in our foods in 1996.
