atripla

1012649 tn?1256229718 Hi. My doctor recently changed my meds from Atripla to the same combination but in two tablets which is Sustiva and Truvada which has emtricitibine in it too. I checked, and these are the same ingredients in Atripla. He changed it because I had a "blip" in my viral load. Viral load was at one point after taking Atripla "undedectable" for about 10 months, then went up to 45 then 3 months later tp 65.
Avatar m tn Atripla is not the first line drug for nPEP and it's not given for a month.
181575 tn?1250198786 Combination treatment is common practice for HIV so they combine multiple drugs into 1 pill. Of course Atripla is NOT an FDA approved therapy for HBV. Sometime in the future when the standard practice is combo treatment for HBV, they will combine entecavir and tenofovir into 1 pill and call it XcalibR 300.
Avatar n tn I took that to a specialist who saw the test, looked me over and gave me Atripla to start to be safe. She also sent me off for more tests, elisa and others. I also now took a PCR DNA thats not back yet. I went to a free clinic that gave me a rapid test that came up negative. I am wondering if four days now of Atripla could cause that to be negative? I am wondering if Atripla after four days will make my DNA PCR test invalid?
Avatar m tn I started her with a drug called ATRIPLA about 50 hours after exposure. What are her chances of getting infected for HIV and how effective is Atripla in Preventing it?? What is the success rate of ATRIPLA??
Avatar m tn so i have stopped trustiva ( atripla ) after 4 ays of consumption ( 4 tablets ) ... have i done right by stopping trustiva ( atripla ) .... Pls give me ur valuable advice and suggestions..
Avatar n tn She gave me an Elisa HIV fulll STD panel Hep ABC, Epstein Barr test and a prescription for Atripla didnt fill til after the test. All tests came up negative, Took Atripla for 5 days and when neg test I stopped. I took a DNA PCR HIV test at time, negative but after 5 days of Atripla. My Epstein Barr was active high so possible. But not new or acute infection. Symptoms now have continued for a month, very severe, very painful. Going to take my 2 month Elisa and DNA test next week 7/17.
Avatar f tn I've had HIV for several years, luckily it was caught early. I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
Avatar n tn Do you know if the side effects of Atripla are too great for him to begin so soon? Thanks for your time. Anyone else who has knowledge on this it would be greatly appreciated, and if I need to post in a different forum, sorry. I will.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum and thanks for your question. Taking Atripla, obviously you have HIV. Can you say more about it (viral load, CD4 count, how long you have had it)? Also give me some more information about your neurosyphilis 2 years ago. Did you have a spinal tap to confirm the diagnosis? How were you treated? What were your initial blood test results (RPR titer in particular) and were follow-up blood tests done to show the treatment was effective?
Avatar n tn My partner was exposed to hiv during anal intercourse and is currently taking my Atripla. I am undetectable. Should we continue the Atripla or should he be on nPEP at all ??
Avatar f tn This forum is only for HIV prevention, not treatment of known infection. If you have been diagnosed with HIV, stop delaying and just start taking your pills. If you were prescribed Atripla as post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) because you were exposed to HIV, what's stopping you? PEP effectivness declines rapidly with increasing time since exposure. So if you're going to do it, just suck it up and take the first dose.
Avatar f tn He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?
Avatar f tn Good day all. I am taking atripla as pep. I am reading scary stuff that hiv could be resistant to are drugs. Is it possible that the hiv strain could be resistant to all 3 components of atripla rendering it useless? Two components are the same as truvada.
Avatar m tn Thanks for replying, I'm not sure if it was completely zero risk though... again I was really drunk but I do remember putting a condom on, I'm just not sure it was on properly or whatever...I don't do this type of thing often and these next few weeks are going to be hell, because that's going to be on the back of my mind. You have any thoughts on the regiment of meds he put me on?
Avatar n tn the exposure was safe sex, using condoms for anal but without condoms for Oral sex ( the guy did not cum in my mouth however i think he had some precum that i spit .. I went 30 hrs after my exposure to the hospital and they gave me PEP (1 combivir and 2 kaletra twice per day) coming back to my country after 3 days i forgot the pills that i bought in switzerland and the doctor here suggested i take 1 atripla pill instead every night !!!
1470597 tn?1286869087 By the way,on last test for VL,after being off Atripla for 2 1/2 mths,he got a call from his doc.She was in a panic because he had no med in his system but his VL went from 500 to 285 and she didn't know why...she had never called him before or informed him of any test results in spite of his request that she do so.I put him on a high-fiber diet, that is all...But then, she hadn't met me....
Avatar n tn And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs.
Avatar m tn When my first labs were taken my Viral load was at 55,000 and my CD4 was at 228. I have been on Atripla for 5 months now. The only side effects I've experienced so far are a little weight gain and some minor fatigue, although the fatigue seems to have subsided. My doctor recommends that I switch medications because I am not undetectable yet. He wants to put me on Truvada, Norvir and Rayotaz. I am scared to switch medications for many reasons.
Avatar f tn I opened the package to see what it was because he never takes medicine and I thought something was wrong. After some research I found out that Atripla is for treating HIV. He has been taking it for 5 months now (it said the original date on the rx). Needless to say I freaked out and about had a panic attack. I have not asked him about it yet, but I am going to. I want to go get tested ASAP but I cant until Monday morning.
1470597 tn?1286869087 I insisted he be retested after I put him on a high-fiber diet (only) and took him off Atripla. After not taking Atripla for approx. 3mths his VL went down by 300,which has confused his "doctor".MY QUESTION: What are the similarities/differences between Anti-HIV1,0.2+p24-Ag Abbott,4.Genaratio(pos. result) and HIV-p24-Antigen Murex HIV Antigenmab(neg. result)?I could only find from my own research that p24Ag is tested in both, that the tests are from 2 diff.
1725905 tn?1309741273 I am a 35 yr. old male, HIV positive for about 12 years. CD4 stays in range at around 350-450, Viral load stays undetectible. I have a very severe case of Seborrheic dermatitis on my face, ie cheeks, forehead, chin. I currently have a topical prescription for Ketoconazole Cream 2%. I apply it daily, as well as wash my face with nizerol shampoo (over the counter), and apply hydrocortozone cream. NOTHING SO FAR RELIEVES the burning, severe flaking, intense redness of infected area.
Avatar m tn Please explain risk HIV from fingering a lady.
Avatar m tn You still have HIV. Don't you use an ID doctor? If not, you should be. The reason for taking ARVs is to get your serum level to undetectable.
