Avatar f tn Hello everyone. I'm new to this website and usually never post anything on the internet bit I have got to a place where I need some advice. I was diagnosed with ADHD 9/9 in March this year by a phsyciatrist at a harley street in London(remotley) I tried stimulants dextroamphetamine and listamphetamin but they didn't agree with me. I was then prescribed atomoxetine. I took these for 4 weeks- start with 10mg then 20mg then 40mg and called my harley phsyciatrist as I was running out.
Avatar m tn Hey, I've just been diagnosed with ADHD and I'll be taking Atomoxetine. It's the non - stimulant type, I was thinking the stimulant form of medication would suit me better with such as an Amphetamine based one. I was a user on speed awhile ago and when I was on I felt established, in control, I could concentrate and express my inteligence.

Avatar f tn 0) after being on a dug trail for Atomoxetine, (last year, at age 45 yrs) by an A.D.H.D. specalist team in Northampton England. Aparently many medical teams around the world dont belive a.d.h.d goes into adulthood, belive me it does! I have it extreamly badly, and after a disastor with Rittaline im now on Strattera (atomoxetine, which is not yet licenced in u.k.) is there any other adults out there that have been, like me, misdiagnosed for years because . .. when I was a child a.d.h.
Avatar m tn * Nonstimulant medication, such as the antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin and generic) or atomoxetine (Strattera), which is not available as a generic.
Avatar n tn Has your daughter tried a non-stimulant medication such as Straterra (atomoxetine)?
Avatar m tn Hi guys, I hope someone is able to help me with this… I am currently taking Atomoxetine – a medication used to treat ADHD in adults. I take 40mg once daily in the morning and it really helps me to concentrate better and function the way I need to etc… One of the main issues I have is the effect it has on my penis and testicles.
Avatar n tn Hi. There is no current study that prohibits Atomoxetine (Strattera) users to take creatine supplements. However, caution should be made when taking supplements, since both drugs can alter kidney function and cause urinary symptoms (e.g. stones, dysuria) when not taken properly. I suggest that you ask your doctor first if these are safe for you to use. Thanks for asking.
Avatar f tn Once they feel they have starved the endo, we will up my dose of estrogen. I felt so GREAT before they cut my dose down, but I am confident once it is up there again, I will feel great again. Good luck and keep us posted.

Avatar n tn To treat Chlamydia the dose is 1 Gram or four 250 mg tabs. This 1 gram dose is also a recommended treatment for NGU . I am not sure what the other 5 pills are for. ( Overkill ?). I recommend sticking to the recommended dose to prevent side effects. But I strongly urge you to go in for exam as good follow up is best. Take care.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Would it hurt? No, not from the standpoint of side effects. But it wouldn't do any good either. First, the large majority of patients with chlamydia don't have gonorrhea. And the gonorrhea tests are extremely accurate; if negative, you can be sure you don't have it and there's no need for treatment. Second, the efficacy of azithromycin in a 2 g dose for gonorrhea depends on taking the entire dose at once.
Avatar f tn If I reduce my dose to 1000 mg, would this be likely to stop this gradual hgb slide, without decreasing my chances of SVR? (I'm genotype 1. Viral load was 100 at 4 weeks and UND at 12 weeks.
Avatar n tn My 88 yr old dad was diagnosed with CHF approx. 2 yrs ago. He has a pacemaker/defibulator. One of his meds are Lasix 10mg daily. He went for a checkup recently (not his regular cardiologist) and had a chest x-ray done. Results showed some fluid. He was told to double up on his Lasix. What could be causing this fluid build up and is it safe to increase Lasix? My concern is that he saw his regular cardiologist approx 1 month ago.
Avatar f tn My husband drove me to the ER where they gave me adenezol (sp?) lowest dose and diagnosed WPW. Cardiologist and EP are strongly recommending an ablation. My father had heart disease and a fatal heart attack at 52 and I do have high cholesterol (on Lipitor). There are no heart issues on my mother's side and I am not overweight, jog 3 miles daily, don't smoke and in general feel great. Is there a connection between wpw and my other cardiac risk factors?
Avatar n tn a regular or a high-dose. She said they ran out of the high-dose, but the regular dose would be ok, so this is what I got. After I returned home, I checked on the internet and found out that a high-dose type is strongly recommended for people over 65 (I am over 80). Question: Should I now get a high-dose type on top of the regular type I got, or is this not recommended?
3093770 tn?1389739126 I thought they were being a little hasty since the recommended dose reduction is when platelets hit 50. I was dead set against wanting to do a dose reduction so soon but did not want to defy their orders completely and run into trouble. I had read about the 80/80 observation that said if you have to dose reduce, your chances for SVR are better if you take 80% of the meds for 80% of the recommended time. I don't know if this was an official study but I read it in a few different places.
Avatar n tn If not at least I would already have the recommended dose to treat outbreaks on hand. My main question is there any negatives to taking 800 mg twice daily regularly for suppression?
Avatar f tn ve always felt the lowest dose is probably the best. I do have a friend that was on NuvaRing and I know she liked it, her only complaint was it felt funny during sex, it would become dislodged and her boyfriend was able to feel it. If it does happen to fall out, in the toliet for instance, you are just supposed to rinse it off and put in back in place! Too weird for me!
3093770 tn?1389739126 As a patient advocate for medical maintenance for addiction treatment, every single person I know who has taken any dose of Naltrexone/Naloxone has hated it and regretted it. Though I have no idea of it's medical use in HCV treatment, I cannot imagine that the side effects would be any different. I am heard little good said about this medication and urge you to use caution.
20003388 tn?1515166040 Every time I try a medication that has a reuptake effect on norepeneprhine I get this mild burning sensation on the left side of my chest. So far I have had this happen with Atomoxetine, Venlafaxine, Bupropion and now Nortrypytiline. It isn't anxiety, a panic attack or heartburn, just a dull, moderately uncomfortable, burning sensation. I'm fine with all the SSRI's and medications like Rexulti. It's just the ones that affect NE.
Avatar n tn A second dose is recommended for people 65 years and older who got their first dose when they were younger than 65 and it has been 5 or more years since the first dose.
Avatar n tn Cardiologist understandably wants me on the highest dose of carvedilol for maximum benefit but I just cannot take the doses he wants due to extremely low blood pressure 80s/50s, dizziness, weakness. I've been on 6.25 in am and 12.5 in pm and doing just ok physically on these doses. Well last night I couldn't get my BP up so I only took 6.25 in the pm. I feel so much better today-bp is up and I've got more energy and am much less foggy.
Avatar f tn Doctors of M.P.Shah cancer hospital.Ahmedabad recommended 200mg radio iodine dose for my father... I want to know that... where I get treatment..for this in gujrat now...or in India..?
