Avatar f tn I then began to feel some breakthrough anxiety symptoms even staying on this dosage routine- shortness of breath, shaking and horrible nausea. I took my dose to .25 every 3 hours instead of 4 and it helped. Mind you I wake up at night and have to continue the schedule or I feel sick. This has all been going on for almost 6 weeks now. I have been back to see my Dr several times and he got upset with me and told me I was taking too much.
Avatar f tn I had the same issues. Ativan really had unusual side-effects. I even suffered from nausea and headaches. That's why I'm not fond of medications. I especially don't like increasing dosages and I wonder why doctors kept on recommending that. Anyway, what you should do instead is to back up your meds with alternative medication to increase the chance of it working. Meditate, exercise, and eat healthy.
Avatar m tn I know anxiety can cause nausea. Are you an overly anxious person? I know ativan can help with nausea but it would be best for you to keep seeing doctors to figure out the cause of it so you can attack the problem. Best of luck to you.
564735 tn?1263943526 Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is? Her intial treatment was ( i think ) 160 mg and it is to be given every 28 days. her DR is planning on either doing a reduce dosgae every 2 weeks or 1 a week to help reduce side effects...

Avatar f tn I relapsed on the vicodin and am now wondering if I should just continue to take the Ativan and slowly taper off of it? I don't know what to do. I don't want to get hooked on the Ativan and end up with a worse problem, but I haven't eaten or slept in days. I don't know what to do. Please someone help me.
Avatar f tn I've been taking .25mg at a time of ativan for anxiety. And sometimes I need to take another .25mg. way later in the day. Last week I was kept at a nice steady pace and today I'm a mess. I'm sedated from the one .25mg. but my anxiety is BAD. Hard to breathe and my stomach is all nervous feeling. I get anxiety induced nausea. If I take another .25mg. that's going to knock me out. I took a compazine just now.
Avatar n tn I know what you are going though I have very insomnia also but only just recently I used to be able to sleep very well without any medications. I then started ativan 1mg and was able to relax enough to get to sleep I took that for four months with good results then boom I could not fall alseep with it anymore I developed a tolerence for it .
Avatar f tn My primary manifestation is severe and debilitating nausea. I also now have heart involvement and am pacer dependent. I have an excellent gastroenterologist. He and other doctors have said that it's a very difficult case to treat. It is unusual as it is marked by very few remissions and has become drug resistant. On a typical day I will wake up with severe nausea, and it sometimes lessens after 3-4 hours. I can feel perfectly fine and am able to eat and drink.
Avatar f tn monday, (i am a diabetic, took sugar test said it was 203, for me that is high, current meds are actos, potassium pill, and bp pill) at work, i felt dizzy and nearly passed out, sat down, looking at my manager i started seeing a black cloud over my eyes, didnt completely black out.
6693906 tn?1388804285 He has decided to gradually up the Celexa again and ween me off the Ativan. this is 3 days later and i am home from school with dizziness and nausea. From what I read that is normal withdrawal, and i'm certain it will pass. However, my question is if the Celexa was bad to bring up the first time, will it necessarily have the same result months later? If anyone has any information on this medication please help me, i'm a little worried!
Avatar f tn t have a clue. I ended up taking Zoloft and ativan. I finally got tired of the highs and lows and found a new doctor. I was distressed that my initial doctor(who barely knew me) was so quick in deciding the right meds for me. I had horrible insomnia. My new Doc changed my meds and got me off the ativan and over to Klonopin with a short taper and integration of the two. I finally ended up feeling better and thanking God that I had switched doctors. Ativan can make you very tired.
Avatar n tn They either did not help at all, or they took away the anxiety but left me with intense stomach pain (IBS with constipation), fever, nausea, and vertigo. I read some information that now they believe that there is a link between not enough of the 5-HT transporter SERT to transport the serotonin out of the gut to other parts of the body including the brain. And that all along, I may have not have had a problem of actually making the serotonin itself.
Avatar f tn Reduced by half over a week and am on day 5 c/t. Feel ok most days - high anxiety and some nausea. The nights are terrible I assume because this is when I took the med. High anxiety, racing heart rate, tingling hands and arms, stomach pain and severe insomnia. How long is this likely to last and any tips for making life easier whilst this thing runs it's course? Have stitches so no baths and can't walk or swim because of broken ankle - poor fed up me! Please any advice!
1283791 tn?1276818314 I know of no correlation between the two. Anxiety and/or depression can cause nausea, has this been addressed? This is common with both conditions and well worth looking into. Check out our Anxiety forum to read about all the problems anxiety can cause, you'll be amazed. Take care....
Avatar m tn I've been living with terrible symptoms of POTS for almost two years now. I've joined this to hopefully get some support and answers because I've come to a REALLY depressed point in my journey where I'm not even sure if going on is worth it anymore. I would honestly say that I have a "mild" form of it at the moment because I do not faint, thankfully. And I'm also not as ill as I have been at times.
Avatar f tn Ativan is in the class of drugs known as "benzo's" or benzodiazepines. They are depressants used to treat anxiety and panic attacks. Another of these is Xanax, a drug I have to take along with beta blockers to treat my thyroid illness. When you were prescribed the ativan, the doc had reason to believe you had anxiety, but that can be caused by many other illnesses, including thyroid, parathyroid, and other glandular problems.
280418 tn?1306325910 I have alot of stress in my life right now...and my history of anxiety is kicking up again. I just like to hear from other anxiety sufferers so i know i am not alone. I am so tired of waking up with chest pain and nausea, while kicking like I'm running a race. I try to breathe deeply and calm myself down, but I am just so tired. Any decrease in sleep always = panic attacks for me. I'm on Cymbalta, Tranxene and Pamelor.
Avatar f tn I have a 17 year old daughter who suffers from Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and severe anxiety and panic attacks. She takes 1 mg of Ativan twice a day if needed when she feels an episode coming on or if an episode has started. In the past 9 weeks she has taken approximately 20 ativan when she was having an episode of vomiting or panic.
Avatar f tn t the source of my nausea. I have noticed that I am becoming more and more depressed in dealing with the pain and nausea. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Do you know of any antidepressants that won't make my gastroparesis worse? If anyone has any words of encouragement, I will take those, too.
Avatar f tn t sip on something or snack I get severe nausea and again have to force the food down. Is my body hungry for something that it is not getting or is this just the chemical imbalance messing with me..... I am afraid to take the ativan more then once at night for fear that my body will need it to feel normal... If I took Ativan twice a day for 5 days to get me through this.... will I have withdrawal systems such as panic ...... anyone......

689267 tn?1235241749 I was diagnosed 17 years ago with generalized panic and anxiety disorder, and have tried lots of meds to control it. Ativan seems to be the one that works for me. My question is- I know the harsh reality of xanax (horrible w/d, etc.), but is it the same for ativan? I never hear anyone talk about it on here, so I have no idea what I am up against. I take 3-4 mgs. a day. Mainly early evening and then to help with sleep. Or, should I stay on it since it is working? Thanks for any advice!
Avatar n tn I've been subscribed hydrocodone and ativan for my pain and panic attacks for 3 yrs., well my Dr. has retired and I'm left without,,,, guess what,,,,,,,, I'm withdrawing and have been for about 2 wks. now, having flu like symptoms, weakness, nauseaus, diarhea, convulsions, ...... seem to be getting a little better, but how long is this going to last, got to work, can't have the "flu" forever, any help out there?
Avatar f tn Actually, ativan leaves your system in FOUR hours. And you are on a very low dose, so you should really NOT be having side effects from that. Look at other things you do that may cause this - eating something odd at dinner or before bed can do this. Oh, and see your doctor about it as well bc if you are only using it for sleep, there are other, perhaps better solutions.
Avatar f tn I took my .5 mg ativan and one benadryl for stuffy nose. Now wide awake and have to be up to work in 2 hours. Has this ever happened to anyone?? I also take my 12.5 zoloft in morning will this make me more jittery??
