I just tried taking my life just recently and was admitted to a local hosp. I also take Ativan and other medications. Is it true they can lower the sex drive and also make you feel as though you don't feel like doing anything. I isolate a lot in fear of rejection. I am involved in a 4 yr relationship, but the sexual relationship has just about disappeared. Can anyone help me?

Also since switching off the Effexor and it has been a week i have severe nausea and stomach cramps, burning mainly at night. I have to get up and go to the bathroom and have a nasty bowl movement. I also wake up with a slight panic attack with tingling sensation as im only on my second wk of Celexa. I do have Ativan to take if the attacks get to severe. I went back to the DR's yesterday and she is really lost. Did some blood work and urine test. Urine test was neg.
I am 38 years old and married. I was perfectly normal and having high libido with no problems of erection. I have been using A-Z multivitamin tablets (either centrum or boots) along with one or two fish oil capsules for the last 3 years.
I had an ongoing hair fall since my teen ages, which sometimes slowed down, specifically when I was back home in Pakistan. When I was in the UK, the hair fall increased. It's in the family. It never completely stopped.
Until my ablation 7 months ago, I had an AVRT very closely related to WPW. Mine was Circus Motion Tachycardia and I had it nearly all of my life, and I'm now 60. In my case, it in no way affected my libido. AVRT like Wolff Parkinson White is an electrical condition, and should not affect libido. I would look atnthe medication used to control the tachycardia. They can and often do supress the libido. How deep of an investigation have you done on your condition?
I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more.
Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement.

m really alarmed and how my libido has dropped so much during the past six months. I eat healthy and practice yoga 3-5 times a week, but the only time I think about sex is when my man lets me know how horny he is. He's been supportive and understanding, but he deserves to be sexually satisfied, and of course on some level things I've lost interest for non-medical reasons.
All meds come with side effects. It's wonderful that we have them to help us but we could sure do with those side effects. Wellbutrin is different from Effexor, it's a stimulating med. I took Effexor myself and was sleeping way too much just like you. I think that's why your Dr prescribed the Wellbutrin, to give you more energy.
Are you only taking the Ativan once a day? If your still feeling agitated and irritable at this dose don't be afraid to tell your Dr.

Hello - After several years of GAD and high anxiety I am looking for some more consistency in my quality of life. I have read all about withdrawal from it and agree that it is a very tough experience. I am now on 75 mg and have been for two weeks. Since then, along with other withdrawal symptoms, I have noticed that I feel out of breath. I have had others comment on that by asking me if I am out of breath. I can hear myself breathing when just sitting at the computer and working. Walking up and down the hall to the bathroom, leaves me feel like I have been running a race.

Okay, well how are you directed to take them both? Is one as needed, both as needed, and if so, how do you know when to take which? Do you take one of them regularly? It's pretty uncommon to be prescribed two short-acting benzos concurrently.
The equivalency between the two meds isn't an exact science, but per equivalency charts, approximately 0.5mg of Xanax equals 1mg of Ativan, so the Xanax is roughly twice as potent, mg to mg. Again, not an exact science.
What symptoms of a hangover are you talking about? If you're speaking of anxiety, that's most likely not a hangover, but rather the typical after effects of alcohol consumption.
Taking Ativan for hangover symptoms would technically considered abuse of your prescription, since that isn't what it's prescribed for, and all around a bad idea.
I think the headache was from something else and not the ativan. Woke up this morning with no headache and took .25mg of ativan and no headache. We'll see what happens later today....
I'm a bit sedated right now on just .25mg. too.
About six weeks ago I was prescribed 20mg of Fluoxetine (Prozac) daily for Chronic Depressive Disorder.
At first, it worked great. I had energy, I slept through the night and felt rested in the morning. I wasn't constantly depressed and had desire to do things. I even got my libido back. I still had minor depressive episodes, but they never lasted more than a day.
