However, I personally know about Aricept because I tried it for tardive dyskinesia and had a pretty poor response. My grandfather was prescribed Aricept for age related memory loss after a cardiovascular impairment. He couldn't tolerate it either. That doesn't mean at all its the wrong medication generally. However I have been suffering terribly for over 5 years with severe short term memory loss & was even put on Aricept (usually used for Alzheimer's) about 5 years ago & have become increasingly severly depressed. I seem to be resistant to all or most anit-depressants, years of therapy & more.

Everything I've read about mid-brain strokes only mentions the physical long term effects. My short term memory is not 100% as it is, although it is not as bad as my long term memory, and when my blood pressure is really high ( 160/100+ ) I seem to have short term memory loss that increases with the increasing blood pressure numbers. Is this a direct side effect of high blood pressure, others with hypertension having suggested it effects their short term memory, or is it confined only to myself because of my memory problems?

I think out of all the drugs out there, Aricept is the best one for strictly cognitive problems. I've been taking it for four (five?) months now, and I've definitely noticed improvements in my short term memory and attention span. I feel safer driving to work, and I can remember phone numbers and keep track of change at the grocery store. The only real side effect I've noticed is long, vivid, but boring dreams.

are there any products on the market that can help short term memory loss that are safe and work as well as they claim?

He has been experiencing short-term memory loss for the past 3 years. This spring, my mom took him to the doctor for a series of tests. They conducted an MRI to check for tumors or a possible stroke. They also conducted an initial screening for Alzheimers and dementia. Everything came back clear. The doctors agreed that there is some short-term memory loss but not enough to warrant medication.

i am a 28yr old female. I do have IC. I have been having short term memory loss. I do not use any drugs nor have i had an head trauma nor do I take any medications. What might be causing this memory problem? The memory issue is something new. I cant even remember things that happened yesterday or even last week. i am a 29 yearold malei was borm with Short term memory loss its really hard to learn anything, i get so uninterested so far into learning whatever it may be, its hard for me to find a job but the one i had for2 years in construction it was mainly me and my boss going to his rentals repairing them but when he needed me to get a tool or something from his truck id go get it and by the time i got to the tool bag in the truck i totally forgot what i even came out there for so i had to stand there

I have posted here before and never thought of to ask, I have CM1 and CCI ( still waiting on insurance to approve surgery) but have had in the past year really bad short term memory loss as well as the dizziness...does anyone else have this? I have been to several doctors since August a headace specialist and a NS ..They say it is not related to the Chiari...but could not tell me what it is from...and honestly the 2 of them could not get me out of their office fast enough.

I was diagnosed with MS almost 2 years ago and have noticed much more frequent, severe mood swings. I am beginning to have more short term memory loss as well. However, there are times where I feel as though I can do anything and not need sleep. I am not being treated with steroids, and do daily injections of Copaxone. Are these mood swings and memory issues somehow related or located in the same area of the brain? Would taking Namenda and Aricept together help?
