475555 tn?1469304339 t format properly here, my apologies.) Hi! friends, Medhelpers, and fellow sufferers from hepatitis and the medical profession. In a previous thread, concerned with the reliability of fibrosis tests like biopsy, Fibroscan, Fibrotest, FibroTC, etc., I mentioned a simple fibrosis index I recently discovered called the AST-to-Platelet Ratio Index, or APRI, that can be calculated from blood tests, and which has been shown to have a high level of reliability.
Avatar f tn Can epstein barr cause dizziness, tachycardia, heat intolerance and near syncope.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 59 yr old woman, post meno ,these are my labs from last Saturday, fasting at 8 AM. Armour Thyroid meds day before were 1 and 1/2 gr tab sub lingual in the morning, same after lunch. Previously had a ferritin of 25, got that up by taking OTC CVS brand iron tabs 2 x daily since last fall. Cut back to one a day and the result is below.
Avatar f tn ve been feeling more fatigued than usual and recently began experiencing extreme sensitivity to cold. Not only did I find out that I have a current Epstein-Barr infection AND my labs were: TSH 3.290 (0.450-4.500) Free t4 0.89 (0.82-1.77) My provider said my the results were normal and there was no treatment, so I went to an endocrinologist to have my labs and symptoms reviewed. He looked at the labs.
1548028 tn?1324612446 T and went to walk in clinic to rule out strep. Did blood test and came back 5 days later + Ebstein Barr but labs are perfect (CBC etc...). Doing better but still takes naps about every 5-6 hours and now says feet and legs are hurting. Hurting so bad having trouble/pain walking and trying to get into comfortable position. Told to give him Ibuprofen and it doesn't do much according to him. Sending us to Neurologist and Ped. Infectious Control Dr. next week and want to do spinal tap.
Avatar f tn Your #s are great!!!!!!! Are you sure your Cirrhotic? They have a formula that you can use called APRI which can give you an idea of what stage you are based upon your platelet # and ALT score. You can google APRI calculator to find your score. Kinda interesting. On my lab results normal is 150-400 so I don't seem normal yet as I'm still 141. Hoping to see some change at my next appt. Thanks for responding and check out your scores.
Avatar f tn The third day that I took .30mg of thyroid tab, I had a severe reaction. The top of my head felt like it was going to explode, Pressure behind my eyes, chills, heart racing and throat swelling. I was lucky I had prednisone to take or I would have ended up in the ER. I haven't went back to my Dr. yet because I am afraid to take any thyroid medication. This was a very scary experience.
Avatar f tn All labs have come back and the mono and Epstein Barr was negative. All of her labs have come back normal with the exception of her T protein 8.8. Albumin 4.8, Globulin 4.0, ALT(SGPT)10, EO% 6.4, and BA% 03. All other test have come back within range. Her hemoglobin was at 13.7, MCH was 30.9, sed rate was 7, CO2 28. Those are the only numbers that really seemed close to a limit, everything else was mid range. She was also tested for RA and that was negative.
Avatar f tn 0.5 and 1.5. That is, an APRI score of less than 0.5 means no or very slight fibrosis, and an APRI score of more than 1.5 means cirrhosis. The intermediate scores approximate the intermediate fibrosis stages. I have now calculated my APRI score for the seven blood tests done between 2006 and now, and the graph of the scores shows a steady progression from early to later stage fibrosis, which is apparently what has happened. That is, I'm a fast progressor (65 years old, geno 1b, etc.).
Avatar n tn I have read several post that are real similiar to mine but they are old and have no answers. I have a low grade fever daily 99.0 to 101.0. for weeks now, malaise, and body aches. My labs are normal and nobody seems to be able to figure out what the problem is, but in the mean time I feel horrible. I am only 40 but feel much older....HELP!!!!!

Avatar m tn If I recall correctly, CMV is short for cytomegalovirus and EVB I think should be EBV, which is short for Epstein-Barr virus. These are two infections which are not Lyme, but can be spread by the Lyme ticks. Your doc would have tested you for these if you had symptoms for either one.
1118724 tn?1357010591 Started a couple hours ago but have a few questions about some labs done Fri., 01/27. Amongst others ... HIV 1+2, Total Routine. Is this an antibody test OR a follow-up test, like a pcr is to a Hep antibody? Bilirubin, Total and Direct Routine Liver Function Profile Routine - which is the same as a liver panel? If so isn't bilirubin included in one? Then why would they redundantly include a stand alone Bilirubin test? Under my profile is a picture (scan) of a test called Comp.
786558 tn?1236552435 In the last year and a half, I have experienced multiple medical problems from Epstein-Barr and debilitating fatigue and headaches, pain in the left upper quadrant, and constipation. Recently my armpits have become tender and my back itches badly. My doctor ran a TPO test and the results were 30,000. Can this be Hashimoto's soles or something more serious such as thyroid cancer?
Avatar f tn 600 tab mg in am and 400 mg tab in pm. i asked RN to renew my presciption as 200 mg ribavirin tablets in case i had to reduce....but she said i can't reduce riba - how do you like that? last time i tx with soc, my hgb went low, so it is expected i will have to do procrit while doing triple tx. hope you have a good day....be well.
Avatar n tn Hello, I've had FM/CFS for ten years now. Lately it's been worse than ever. I was looking at some labs done back in February 2009, and came upon some Epstein-'Barr numbers that, I think, mean I was once infected; however, the doctor never mentioned it, so I'm not sure. I've read quite a few posts here about the labs, but my numbers are so different from most others that i'm not sure whether they mean anything or not.
