m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
In the recent WHO guidelines for Hepatitis B, APRI is the recommended method to assess cirrhosis (score > 2) in resource-limited settings. Fibroscan is the preferred method if available. Notice, accuracy is not the issue here, but rather it is a quick way to assess cirrhosis so that treatment can be initiated.

I would have been better off, it turns out, using only a simple test called the AST-to-Platelet Ratio Index (APRI), which anyone can calculate for themself from their blood tests (as long as the hepatic transaminase AST and platelets are included in them). The formula is AST divided by ULN (the Upper Limit of Normal for AST, which is 42), divided by the number of platelets in thousands (for example 150), times 100. For example, if your bloods gave AST as 50, then 50 divided by 42 is 1.

OK. So I was on Apri for a year when I was with my bf. My last period on Apri was July 18, 2008. After that period, I took about 4 of the pills before I decided to go off the pill for a few months, since my bf and I broke up months ago and I don't like taking medicine/hormones I don't need. Naturally, my period started again a few days after I stopped taking the pill, so maybe the beginning of August. Last week, I made a really stupid, stupid mistake and slept with my ex w/o protection.
This is my first month ever being on birth control and i'm on the 28-day pack pills called Apri. i started taking the last week the "reminder pills" 3 days ago and the way i understood it is that i'm supposed to get my period on the first day i took the reminder pills...could i be pregnant or is there something else wrong?

( is there any good skin product that really does work at getting rid of acne, dark spots, bit still make your skin smooth?? Btw I have sensitive skin && some acne products make my skin dry :( please help?
I get it on my chest, back and face I have went to a derm since I was 18 but it never seemed to really help and I felt like since my acne was mild they never really cared. When I get acne it lasts for multiple weeks or months which is why its so agonizing especially cause afterwards I am left with post acne marks that can last up to a year. It has totally messed up my self confidence and has made me totally insecure.
I had the same issue as you with the BCPs. I have endo and a cyst on each ovary. I was on Apri for five months to alleviate pain and to eliminate my cycles. The first pack and a half went well, then I had a non-stop cycle for about 4 to 4 and a half months. My gyno finally changed my BC to the Nuvaring, I still had a cycle for three more weeks but I think I've finally found relief. In my opinion, Apri was the worst BCP that I'd ever taken.
A common treatment for cystic acne is Isotretinoin, which cures most acne in about 90% of patients. In sever cases a course of oral antibiotics are also recommended.
After cysts have mostly healed, macules, or "pseudo scars" may form. Macules are red patches of skin, sometimes raised slightly, where cysts used to be, and may resemble cysts in their appearance.
Hi, I was on the pill Apri for a little over a yr. Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for endo, a polyp and a cyst. After that I wanted to try for a baby. Anyways, I stopped my birth control the same day I had my surgery and I've never had a problem. I'm not sure about everyone but that was what happened to me. Everything was fine. I had surgery on June 25th, 2010 and so it's been almost 3 weeks. I hope this helps. Good luck, take care!
