Avatar n tn I am doing a little research on gallbladder removal & appendicitis association. Except for a couple of articles not much so far. Both that I did find indicated a fairly high frequency of appendicitis within 18 months of gallbladder removal. Hopefully, they are wrong, I have about 6 months to go.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Most people with appendicitis have severe pain worse than what we usually get with IBS. Although, as you must know by now, you can get severe enough pain from IBS to even keep you from being able to walk. You can get IBS pain anywhere in the abdomen, and the left side where the descending colon is, is typically the most common area of pain. I have had the pain in the area you are talking about. Two things can be going on that are more likely, if the doctor is sure it's not the appendix.
Avatar m tn Also, I would ask for a blood test to rule out appendicitis, sometimes this can be a sign of beginning appendicitis, you certainly do not want it to get worse.

Avatar m tn Lower right abdominal pain along with a tight, bloated abdomen is a symptom of appendicitis. Please go see your doctor as soon as possible!
Avatar n tn Being careful about what you eat after gallbladder surgery is a wise thing. You gallbladder is gone, so digesting fatty foods and some other things, is going to be tough and could make you sick. Check you diet and make sure it's conducive to not having a gallbladder, Good luck!
Avatar m tn what happens when he eats fried/fatty foods? I think gallbladder as one of those pesky organs that can cause what you describe, too, and sometimes not in the classic pain patterns one would expect. My 17yr old was on Prevacid for 5yrs on/off and it turned out it was Bile Reflux from a severely dysfunctional gallbladder she had removed a few mos ago and all the symptoms similar to what you describe (school missed, etc.) are gone now ..........
554409 tn?1218403468 My appendix showed up normal on my two CT scans, but when I had my consultation with the surgeon, he did mention it could be acute appendicitis. I was under the impression that appendicitis can't last for 8 months though. The surgeon mentioned that he would take a look at my appendix when they take out my gall bladder, on Thursday, so I guess I will get a definite answer then. Thank you for the input.
Avatar m tn I get severe mind numbing pain under my right rib caused by my gallbladder. It is usually follows nausea and bloating for me. Does she seem to have these pains more often after eating anything, specifically something like fried foods, eggs, or lots of meat/dairy. Has the doctor's ruled out a gallbladder problem? Also a clear sign of a gallbladder problem- yellowish (floating) stools. Does she have any problem with diarrhea or constipation, perhaps it could be a food intolerance.
Avatar n tn I was hospitalized on Friday night with sever pain to my right side the doctors have stated its either the start of appendicitis or a torn ligament. Awaiting test results. I'm on complete bed rest until I get the results if it is appendicitis what will they do and is there any chance it could hurt my baby. Also got the results of my last blood test which indicated my liver function was down.
Avatar n tn It could be early appendicitis or your gallbladder. If the colonoscopy is normal it probably is not colitis or diverticulitis. I suggest you make an appt with your doctor ASAP.
Avatar f tn Possibly gallbladder it took me 1yr of on going problems had all the test in the world done said it wasn't my gallbladder. Finally, I decided to go to the hospital after having really bad pains, glad I did I had a stone STUCK in my gallbladder had to have emergency surgery.
Avatar m tn showed that I had borderline appendicitis due to the appendicitis not filling with the contrast fully and the mesenteric lymph nodes of the area being “shoddy”. I was given Cipro and Flagyl for two weeks to see if that would fight the infection. After an ultrasound, they found my appendix healed completely. While the yellow explosive diarrhea has returned to coming 2-3 times/week (rather than the daily occurances) the pain in my lower right abdomen and back continued at the same intensity.
Avatar n tn Thursday, August 14 I was in so much pain that I broke down and went to the ER. The ER Dr. immediately thought gallbladder or appendicitis. Blood work showed a slightly raised white blood cell count. Ultrasound and xrays for gallbladder came back negative. CT gave me the answer that I was looking for....appendicitis. A few hours later and I was out of surgery. As far as the central stomach pains, I was told by the ER Dr. that appendicitis often causes central upper abdominal pain......
Avatar n tn I am in my 19th week and got diagnosed with appendicitis 2 days ago. Did some labs and the results show I have inflammation going on. Am scheduled for an appendectomy and was told not to worry because precautions would be taken not hurt the baby. I was also informed that they would do some procedure to calm the baby down the night before the surgery. I am yet to know what kind of procedure it is they are talking about. My og/gyn is working with the surgeon on my case.
Avatar f tn Yes, appendicitis came to my mind as well but so did the gallbladder. Did they check that? I'm sure they palpated his abdomen but may not have thought about the gallbladder. Sorry if we are absolutely no help to you. I hope they figure it out soon. But you are doing the right thing. You can't sit there and wait for the doctors, you need to do the research yourself. It sounds like mkh9 is doing some and I will try to as well. My best.
Avatar n tn She may have appendicitis or have trouble with her gallbladder. I thought I had a stomach virus and had very bad cramps along with vomiting for a couple of days and went into the emergency room and found out that I was having a gallbladder attack. I spent a week in the hospital and had my gallbladder removed. Please urge her to seek medical attention.
590110 tn?1367506741 could be gallbladder (right area and super common during pregnancy)...but yeah since you're already high risk I would go ahed and call or get it checked out. keep us posted!

Avatar f tn I weight about 175 and have had a c-section and gallbladder surgery. I have also had tonsils and adenoids out along with sinus surgery. I have a history of GERD as well. I am concerned about something that has happened twice. It began on thanksgiving of 2019. I began feeling very bloated and about 3 am I woke up with a sharp pain in my side and I was vomiting. I then began to notice my upper, middle abdomen was very distended and hard as a rock. It almost looked like a half of a ball.
Avatar f tn It makes a difference as the spleen is on the left, appendix, gallbladder and liver are on the right. Appendicitis can hurt on the right lower quadrant or right around the belly button. Your gallbladder can hurt below the ribs on the right and the pain can go through to the back and up to the shoulder. Can be intense or uncomfortable. If the pain is on the left and your spleen is affected, it could be a symptom of Mono. At any rate, you need to see your doctor.
