Avatar f tn I have been to the doctors for tests for appendicitis when I had severe pain in my lower abdomen. They ran a few tests, try these Raise one leg at a time, keep the other flat, if you get pain in the lower right area you are more likely to have appendicitis. The best test for it is to push down hard on the area of pain, if you get severepain when you let go, that is bad and I recommend you visit your doctor.
Avatar f tn From what I understand you usually have pain starting near the belly button and it moves the right side. You usually will have nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, fever, and chills. Were you able to be seen by a doctor for the pain since you posted? How are you doing now?
Avatar f tn Usually lower abdominal pain on ur rt side is ur appendix. Look up signs and symptoms of appendicitis online to make sure. Is it sharp pains?
1591333 tn?1297733419 On a short term basis the mechanism for a need for water is to provide water to cells from the space that contains water. Vital signs may include postural readings (blood pressure and pulse rate are taken lying down and standing). With dehydration, the pulse rate may increase and the blood pressure may drop because the intravascular space is depleted of fluid. Low blood pressure and a faster heart is an attempt to get more blood volume into the system.
895856 tn?1241595448 Lower left abd pain could be caused by multiple issues as Mollyrae stated including, Appendicitis, Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovarian Cyst, Diverticulitis, PID or Irritable Bowel Syndrome to name a few. If the pain is actually in your stomach than it could be related to an Ulcer, GERD, Hiatal Hernia or Gastritis, again just to name a few. The abdominal cavity contains many of our vital organs and without a good clinical exam and possibly some additional testing it can be difficult to diagnosis.
Avatar f tn My son had sudden onset symptoms causing a STAT CT scan to rule out Appendicitis. It did rule it out. They found Mesenteric Lymphadenitis present. No infection has been found in the blood stream, in fact only signs of inflammation. Other test are being run by Pediatrician, but still await results. 4 % of body weight loss in the past week. The pain just doesn't seem to want to subside. Do you have any thoughts on how I can be more proactive to help him??
671285 tn?1292660161 Are my symptoms classinc signs of IBS? Stress? Or am I having appendicitis? I am scare though. The doctor cannot see me until next week. Dont know what to do. Feel sick.
Avatar n tn There is something that happened in the hospital that they can't explain. I don't know I think maybe about 9pm. The last thing I had remembered was going to the bathroom, then the next thing I knew I was in the icu. I asked what had happened and they told me I was completely unresponsive for 45 minutes, my breathing was very shallow to the point where they thought I wasn't breathing at all. They said my breath sounds were 97% diminished.
Avatar m tn i had to go to an urgent care facility because i was not feeling well. my vital signs were as follows...blood pressure - 90/41. heart rate - 96. respiratory rate - 30. O2 sat. - 100%. also,my left hand was shaking violently was about 15 seconds. the only thing that the doctor told me was the i have anxiety and i should see a psych. i do not like doctors because they do not know my body. i know that i am not anxious. can anyone here tell me why my blood pressure is low and my heart rate is high??
Avatar n tn d been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT. I was told to keep an eye out for things, and to go back asap if things got worse- which they likely would within a reasonably short amount of time.
Avatar n tn As usual, Drnee is right on the money. The most probable cause is dehydration, and my two cents worth is to insure you take in electrolytes, such as Gatorade, along with water. You need to have what are called "orthostatic vital signs" taken. These are easy to do and a simple search on the internet will bring you up to date. Orthostatic vital signs are useful is identifying dehydration. The higher heart rate is usually compensatory, maintaining oxygenation with a depleted blood volume.
Avatar m tn O.k. this is really eating at me. About eight months ago, I got a CT scan on my head at the ER for a splitting headache (turned out to be inflammation of the mastoid and sinus infection). About a month ago, I got a CT scan with contrast for chest pain that had been persistent for about six months.
Avatar n tn During the first episode, the pain was so bad he could not walk. They suspected appendicitis, but an ultrasound turned up nothing and surgeon determined it was not appendicitis. During each episode, the inflammation markers in his blood rise (ESR 20, CRP 67), but then fall to normal levels after the episode ends. An X-ray showed nothing.
Avatar f tn My sister has gone through a colostomy/ileostomy after a cesarian surgery for child birth. She is now in hospital for 4 days. She has swollen legs and no bowel movement. All vital signs seem to be okay. Any advice on this?
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
