Common Questions and Answers about Signs of appendicitis kids

appendicitis

Avatar f tn I have been to the doctors for tests for appendicitis when I had severe pain in my lower abdomen. They ran a few tests, try these Raise one leg at a time, keep the other flat, if you get pain in the lower right area you are more likely to have appendicitis. The best test for it is to push down hard on the area of pain, if you get severepain when you let go, that is bad and I recommend you visit your doctor.
Avatar f tn From what I understand you usually have pain starting near the belly button and it moves the right side. You usually will have nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, fever, and chills. Were you able to be seen by a doctor for the pain since you posted? How are you doing now?

Avatar f tn It could just be the flu, tis the season after all, but those are classic warning signs of a miscarriage. Call your doctor and get this checked out.
Avatar m tn I have pain in the right side of my abdomen, near my belly button, it feels like I need to vomit. However I don't. It also hurts when I deep breathe. I have swelling in the abdomen too and its tender to the touch. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar m tn If pulse is more than 80 and blood shows high TLC counts, is suggestive of appendicitis. In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature. Well colon pain is colicky or dull in nature, do you have recent history of diarrhea?
Avatar f tn Usually lower abdominal pain on ur rt side is ur appendix. Look up signs and symptoms of appendicitis online to make sure. Is it sharp pains?
Avatar m tn If you had an appendicitis, you would have had an operation. The "severity" of an appendicitis doesn't change whether or not you would operate. What the results of your first CT scan probably mean, is that you had this incidental finding, and you never had any problem with your appendix in the first place. Anyways, that is in the past. However, antiobiotics kill off the good bacteria in your gut which can cause problems, which is why I recommend a probiotic.
Avatar f tn If by chance you were actually able to figure out that your pain was from an inflammed appendix your delay in seeking medical attention would have resulted in the appendix becoming gangrenous and perforating usully after about 4 hours of symptoms. I agee that, in the absence of other signs / symptoms of an inflammatory process simple constipation would be the most likely diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Im going through the same thing!
Avatar f tn Also, I talked to a girl in my class who had to have her appendix removed because of appendicitis, and I asked her what she experienced before she realised it was appendicitis. She told me, and while I am aware symptoms vary from person to person, I noticed I had all the signs she had, expect the pain had not moved to the lower right part of my abdomen.
349463 tn?1333571576 I posted this question in the fertility forum also. I'm just looking for anyone who might be able to help out. I've had this achey pain in my right side this month that started 3dpo. At first it was just a little sore, but if I shifted around it would stop. Well the pain has been getting worse every day. For those of you who notice ovulation pain it's like that sharp flash of pain you get that only lasts a second durring ovulation. Except it doesn't go away.

Avatar f tn No infection has been found in the blood stream, in fact only signs of inflammation. Other test are being run by Pediatrician, but still await results. 4 % of body weight loss in the past week. The pain just doesn't seem to want to subside. Do you have any thoughts on how I can be more proactive to help him??
671285 tn?1292660161 Are my symptoms classinc signs of IBS? Stress? Or am I having appendicitis? I am scare though. The doctor cannot see me until next week. Dont know what to do. Feel sick.
Avatar n tn Both that I did find indicated a fairly high frequency of appendicitis within 18 months of gallbladder removal. Hopefully, they are wrong, I have about 6 months to go.
Avatar n tn This past Sunday, I was sent home from the ER with a diagnosis of early appendicitis. I'd been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT.
Avatar n tn I have been having some pain where I believe my right ovary to be. I had pain there, around my back and down my legs. Also up my right side too. Gyno said she did not feel anything on my ovary, thought it might be an UTI. Seeing a urologist and so far sounds as if this is not the case. Urine coming back negative for bacteria. These pains come and go without any reason. Its not always there. But I read a story of a lady who's first sign of colon cancer was sciatic pain.
Avatar m tn O.k. this is really eating at me. About eight months ago, I got a CT scan on my head at the ER for a splitting headache (turned out to be inflammation of the mastoid and sinus infection). About a month ago, I got a CT scan with contrast for chest pain that had been persistent for about six months.
Avatar f tn I have seen signs of delays in children, and this little boy definately has many. Is it possible he may have a form of autism? And if so, how do I address his parents on the subject?
Avatar n tn An X-ray showed nothing. A CT scan during an episode showed no problems with the digestive system or any signs of cancer, but did show a pleural effusion in the exact spot where he has the pain. The pulmonologist found no trouble with his breathing when he was tested between episodes. He tested negative for TB. He does not have significant markers for Lupus. He has no cough, nausea, or vomiting, and he only occasionally has diarrhea. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be?
Avatar m tn The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn I know you must be going thru a tough time. Worry over kids is nothing you can even imagine if you have never had kids! Hope everything is well and will be sending positive thoughts your way! Does autoimmune diseases run in your family? Keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
