appendicitis

Avatar f tn t develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again?? I'm scared...
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar n tn With appendicitis, you may just feel a little off, or run a slight fever. I have friends who felt this way for weeks before their appendix really flared causing them severe pain. I understand what you're saying...we need to be proactive with our health but where do we draw the line? It can be frustrating!
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
671285 tn?1292660161 Are my symptoms classinc signs of IBS? Stress? Or am I having appendicitis? I am scare though. The doctor cannot see me until next week. Dont know what to do. Feel sick.
Avatar m tn Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones (possibly missed on ultrasound), constipation, ovary involvement in women (cysts, hemorrhage, tumor, torsion-all ruled out in your case), ectopic pregnancy in women (ruled out), mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement with low blood supply, enlarged lymphnodes, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle (these two are unlikely is there is no localized p
Avatar f tn I had the same problem went to the hospital and it ended up being a ruptured cyst. Hope all is well.
Avatar n tn could that be the reason i have not gotton appendicitis yet? and wouldnt they see in the ct scan and ultra sound that my right ovary is in close proximity of my appendix and wouldve said something? or only my gynecologist can see that? im just very curious and worried, sorry for all these questions.
640526 tn?1312107911 I went to the ER with lower right abdominal pain in September of '09. Of course, my thought was that it was possibly appendicitis. They said it was probable I had appendicitis but weren't sure enough to say surgery was absolutely necessary, but when they did my CT scan, they found out I had a 10x11 cm cyst (complete with bone) in my right ovary. They did surgery on the spot, and thankfully, I still have my right ovary.
Avatar f tn I went to hospital with severe lower abdominal pain. After several tests, they noticed a cyst or tumour (radiologist's words exactly) on right ovary, and swollen appendix and elevated white cell count. Surgeon opted to not to an appendectomy as he felt that I have a cyst which leaked fluid causing irritation to appendix. I was not prescribed any antibiotics or painkillers. The pain has since eased off - now sporadic.
Avatar f tn 32 female, never pregnant and not sexually active. Pinching over right ovary area, wrote it off as ovulation. Came back on and off over the week until it became more sore rather than a pinch. Went to gyno, internal & external ultrasound, pelvic exam, no cysts or problems found. Now the pain has gone up a little bit and is from where my right ovary is up to top of my groin/where stomach begins. It's soreness like something is bruised inside of me, not sharp pain, not excruciating.
Avatar f tn After a CT scan they determined I had appendicitis along with a mass on my ovary, which my ovary was doubled in size. They determined I had a 3cm hemorrhagic cyst with small calcium particles on my ovary. Nothing further was said or done about the cyst. The pain somewhat subsided after my appendectomy but I still have pain and I have a brownish/red discharge and I find I cant hold my bladder. Could I have a more severe condition?
Avatar f tn They did an Ultrasound which was highly susceptible for appendicitis it showed that it was not compressable, had minimal hypermiea, I was very tender and showed top normally enlarged. So since on Ultrasound it was highly showed appendicitis they took me right away to have a CT Scan with contrast which didn’t show any inflammation of appendix but showed two cysts on right ovary largest measures 2.1cm. So doctor in ER confirmed that my right quadrant stomach pain is due to the cysts.
Avatar f tn following surgery i was treated for 6 months of intense chemotherapy. The right ovary and fallopian tube was obviously removed but left my other ovary and womb in tact. I went on to have a lovely normal baby boy and pregnancy was text book, after a few years my periods started getting heavy so i went to my g.p and she referred me for internal vaginal scan and ultra sound just to check it out. I have just received the reults showing i have uterine fibroids and polycystic ovary.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn With transvaginal scope they confirmed it was twisted Ovary with big Cyst. Even then Doctors were not sure of Cyst source or extent, because even my cyst was twisted and hardened. Same day I had exploratory laparoscopic surgery. During surgery they found, there was no blood supply to ovary and cyst was orange size. Surgeon removed my dead right side of Ovary and infected Fallopian tube. You should take second opinion. In India, you can get CT Scan done easily.
Avatar f tn It is highly painful and can be very dangerous if it is so large that it causes the ovary to twist or turn. I would suggest an immediate trip to your physician or local ER. Good luck.
Avatar f tn In the beginning of February, I was dealing with bad heartburn and anxiety, but around the middle (I'll say the 20th), my right ovary began hurting really bad and it was hard for me to make a bowel movement. And whenever I finished urinating, the pain would begin and I feel nauseous. I went to a (bad) doctor visit and after blood work, they said my hormones, blood sugar, and everything was fine but to see a specialist about my ovary.
Avatar n tn chronic involvement of appendix (many a times ultrasound misses this as the appendix in such cases is hidden behind loops of intestine and typical symptoms of appendicitis are absent), involvement of kidney and inflammation of your intestine. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
Avatar f tn Hello there. Just saw you left a message on my page, you were wondering if anyone still checks it ........ Here I am. ............ And Oh boy do I understand your frustrations!! Make sure they thoroughly check your appendix. That is what happened to me. What you explained above sounds a bit how my nightmare started out. Gyno issues, not Gyno issues, Gyno issues .....UGH!! I lost an ovary because of this. "Chronic Appendicitis" ......
203342 tn?1328737207 Could be several things ... I'd see a dr if I were you. It could be just an intestinal cramp, or it could be something else. I've had those too, and it's hard to sort out. Once it developed into appendicitis....!
Avatar f tn s where my right ovary is, or at least close to it. Closer to my hip but between the hip and belly button. If that makes any sense. Am I just bein paranoid about this? I'm always getting brushed off for these kinds of things..
Avatar f tn Last October I had a dermoid on my right side rupture and the fluid caused my appendix to become irritated. I went in to the ER and when they took the CT they found that the appendicitis was caused by the ruptured cyst. After a long night and surgery the next day it was time to decide what to do about the cyst. They told me I had the dermoids on both sides and they were actually very large. I don't remember the actual measurements.
Avatar f tn by the time it became increasingly sore, like a bruise/pulled muscle or something swollen inside, where my ovary would be and up a little higher right above my bikini line, I made a dr apt. This Monday they did pelvic exam, internal and external ultrasound - nothing found. No cysts, nothing. Told me to come back in 2 weeks, Their theory was that it could be lymph nodes from a slight yeast infection I had had before. I go to my regular GP bc the soreness got worse.
3098791 tn?1341168265 I'm very sorry to hear about your girlfriend. It sounds like you both have had a tough few days, but it sounds like she was treated well. If the ovary was found to be a problem, and possibly even with an infection, then it was the right thing for the surgeon to go ahead with removal. Her other ovary is likely to be fine in the future and she will be able to have children in the future even with one ovary and she will not go through menopause early.
