appendicitis

Avatar n tn Others are irritable bowel syndrome(irregular bowel movements of constipation and diarrhea along with the pain and nausea are there), Crohn's disease(Crohn's disease most commonly affects the last part of the small intestine, usually located in the right lower abdomen) ,kidney infections, intestinal obstruction, mesenteric occlusion or enteritis. Without examaintion and investigations like an ultrasound and CT scan abdomen, diagnosis is tough.
Avatar n tn So also it can be a pain of appendicitis, where the appendix is placed behind the intestine. Ultrasound, CT or MRI of lower abdomen or whole abdomen would have ruled this out. The other possibility you can explore is Irritable bowel syndrome. The walls of intestine go into spasm often and cause sudden excruciating pain. It could also be pain of chronic intestinal obstruction relieved by vomiting. Maybe a barium study of the digestive systm will be able to diagnose the problem.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms can be due to stress and anxiety. Other possibility is IBS or irritable bowel syndrome which is characterized by change in bowel habit, diahrrea and or constipation. Infectious diseases, food allergies and anemia also have to be ruled out. Are you on any medications? I would suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist as soon as you can. Take care!

Avatar f tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the right abdomen are appendicitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis or gall bladder disease causing referred pain. Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis. My advice is to consult a gastroenterologist and discuss these possibilities with him.
Avatar f tn There are various possibilities like uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, irritable bowel as well as endometriosis both uterine and extra uterine. In your case it’s quite possible that you have an irritable bowel syndrome. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) once. Hope this helps. Do discuss this also with your gynecologist and get yourself examined.
Avatar m tn It could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome or something benign. Because you have a fever with it, I would suspect appendicitis - it doesn't always have the classic symptoms.
Avatar m tn Pain that is accompanied by heartburns or nausea is often due to dyspepsia or GERD.Pain that is accompanied by the change in bowel movements like diarrhea or blood in stools is often due to irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. Sometimes referred pain from kidneys, ovarian cysts and ectopic pregnancy also cause a referred abdominal pain. Pls get an ultrasound abdomen and CT abdomen along with blood counts done to find out the cause of pain as treatment depends on the same.
Avatar f tn t know if you are male or female so I can tell you if you are a female it could be your colon or appendix or ovaries. Male - Colon or appendix more than likely. Sometimes things do not show up with testing until much later. I sure would like to know what it is exactly.
Avatar f tn Have you been having regular bowel movements? If not or even if you are having unusual bowl movements you could have a blockage. I'm not sure about the fever or chills you may have some type of bug that could even bee causing the abdominal cramping. If you have been constipated or less than the usual amount of bowel movements you can take a laxative to start things going.
Avatar n tn I am overweight. For the past 18 months I have been plauged with an irritable bowel. I have bowel motions 5-8 times per day. My stools are always loose and often bright yellow. I have cramps and gas and often after passing still have the feeling of needing to go. When I need to go, I NEED TO GO! and there is no way I can wait.
Avatar m tn For the past few days I've had pain right above my hip but its not severe and i don't have any other symptoms but I'm very scared right now because i think i have appendicitis i don't want surgery...my mom who is a nurse said that it cannot be that because the pain i describe isn't severe and that i should lay off the coffee that i drink.
Avatar m tn But I still have slight pain where my appendix is, so I went to the doc again 2 days later and saw a different doctor who said that its not appendicitis and that its probably associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (ive had it since i was born practically). I dont have a fever, im not vomitting, i can move and walk fast and do my daily activities with no problem...but Im just weirded out by this slight pain where my appendix is.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with irritable bowel after suffering with pain and constipation for years. I also suffer badly with wind. I have been taking fybogel mebeverine twice a day and peppermint capsules for the past 4 months.I track my fibre intake, and ensure I have a minimum of 27g per day. I am an adult female, I exercise several times a week and consider my diet to be quite healthy. The pain isn't as frequent but im still constipated most of the time. Does anyone have any advice please?
Avatar f tn The intestine problems they think are irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel syndrome, a parasite, or at worst chrons disease. She's pretty sure there is something wrong with my colon. As for the sharp pain, she thinks its either an ovarain cyst or a dermoid tumor. :( So i have to do 8 stool tests, three on different days, and get those all tested. Then i have an ultra sound on wednesday morning to see about my ovaries. Wish me luck! I'll stay posted.
Avatar n tn I had a CT scan with contrast b/c I was afraid of appendicitis, and nothing unusual was found. My doctor said irritable bowel syndrome, but I don't see why that would get worse from standing or walking. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Is there any reason to worry about cancer such as of the pancreas if I had a CT scan w/contrast and nothing was found? Thank you.
Avatar f tn t develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again?? I'm scared...
