Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis green stool

appendicitis

Avatar f tn I hate that he has endured this for four weeks and I know it breaks your heart. Green stool has many causes, most benign, but his pain is of concern and his rectal pressure. If he is seeing a GI doctor, you're not getting the answers you need and I would seek a second opinion with another Ped. GI specialist. This is their field and they know best. Good luck to you both and take care.
716841 tn?1289948186 The stool can become green on taking food rich in green leafy vegetables. If this is not the cause, then the stool is passing out of the large intestine at a very rapid rate so the bile does not break down. This can happen if you have malabsoroption syndromes. A viral infection can change the stool color to dark bottle green color. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar m tn Your stomach has been ruled out, but I still wonder if there was irritation this may be where the blood is coming from??? Green stool means it is passing thru the intestines too quickly, and yellow indicates gallbladder or liver issues. Did you ask the second GI about the swollen lymph nodes and inflammation? If he went over all your tests he would have seen that you had some symptoms going on, and he should have tested further to find out what is going on.

Avatar f tn I am 33 weeks and around the same time I had green stool. It's actually perfectly normal and means you must be eating more iron or salad or greens. Usually green stool is a good sign. But you can check with you doctor if you're concerned. I had it though and it went away about a week later.
Avatar f tn I am in my early fifties and for the first time ever I have noticed that my stool has been a forest green for the past week. I take no medications, have a balanced diet, probably at least a 50/50 ratio poultry/fish to veggies and am post menaposal. I feel fine, no discomfort or abdominal pain.
Avatar n tn If that green color was from bile, you'd probably feel some anal burning during bm.
Avatar f tn Second we usually think of healthy stool being brown but stool is actually green before its brown due to bile being in the small intestine and as the green stool passes thru the large intestine over time it turns Brown. So If your stool was green ir could mean that it just passed thru the intestine too quickly for it to turn Brown. Its happend to me many many times. Hope that answers your question!
Avatar n tn Why is my stool green? I will be 50 years old shortly. I am on no medications and have no health problems that I am aware of. Periodically, (like once last year & then a couple of times this month) my stool is grass green, usual normal consistency, & stays that way for a few days. What would cause this?
Avatar n tn s and had green stool for about a week, ya a hole week of green stools, with mild cramping. They should put a warning sign upin front saying "PURPLE CHIPS WILL GIVE YOU GREEN POOP" This discussion is related to Green stool.
Avatar m tn Usually green stool is an indication that you are getting a lot of chlorofyl in your system from green vegetables, and shouldn't be a concern. But, (and pardon my being so graphic) does your stool float, too? This is a sign of giardia, which you can pick up from your dog, cat, handling shoes that were in a watery area outside, just about anywhere. If this persists, and/or if the stool is green and floats, you will need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and a pill that will knock it out.
Avatar f tn the more you have in you, the more your body can push out whatever its not liking. the most common causes of green stool are food coloring and excess fiber, but it does depend on what kind of green youre talking about. if its very slimy and not like normal diarrhea, its most likey bile, stomach acids, etc. if its an acceptable consistency, looks like youd expect it to, and just tinted, its most likely fiber or food colorings.
Avatar n tn green stool is usually an indication of an infection somewhere. Your body is trying to fight it off. Depending on which infection, you may feel fine, but you should be checked as it could be something underlying that should be addressed.

Avatar f tn Hi, About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
Avatar n tn When I saw the picture there was a handful of black spots, about the size of nickels, maybe bigger, stretching from my lower-right part of my abdomen up under my right rib cage. I was worried this was a collection of tumors but he said it was stool backed up... Ok...So, I took Magnesium citrate to clean out the blockage (even though I've been having frequent bowel movements while this pressure has been occurring - not sure what's being "blocked" - whatever though.
