antihistamine

Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar n tn Diphenhydramine hydrochloride (commonly sold as benedryl) is an antihistamine which makes patients drowsy, so is taken in higher doses at bedtime to make patients sleep. It is sold in 25 mg pills and as extra strength, 50 mg pills. I found a list of drug recommendations on the Janis & Friends site last year and it said that patients were allowed up to 200 mg per night while on IFN/ribivirin therapy and it's what I used for sleep throughout TX.
Avatar n tn No, DO NOT give together! Temeril-P IS an antihistamine w/ a small dose of steroids included.....You don't want to give another Antihistamine (Benedryl) on top of that......

Avatar m tn thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines? are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers? 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn t seem to find much on the net about meth and rashes, so I am wondering if the level of hydro is still up there enough to possibly be the mix causing this rash. I finally took an antihistamine and half of one of my prednisone before bedtime, and it finally let me go to sleep with the severe itching subsiding somewhat. Anyone have an ideas or have had a rash reaction with methadone? Thanks for any help!
Avatar n tn what drug clasification per the DSM-IV does coriciden fit into, or does it fit anywhere?
356518 tn?1322263642 This is a website that list any drug shortages that may be in effect. if you are taking a medication that is on this list speak with your doctor about making any changes that may be necessary. Here is the link... http://www.fda.gov/drugs/drugsafety/drugshortages/ucm050792.htm I also want to remind everyone about the FDA Recall group. It has important information. Thanks.
268356 tn?1236002604 Ugh, I feel awful. My head is all stopped up and my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat making my throat ache and my head ache. I'm not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. 478554 tn?1208034407 antihistamine is over the counter drug for allergy problem, but increasing used for sleep aid
Avatar n tn B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the list goes on. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything. Surely some studies have been done.
Avatar f tn There are many other name brands for that class of medicine. Astepro is a nasal spray antihistamine. It stops the sinus cells from reacting to allergens. There are only two meds in this category. Astepro and Patanase. There is an older version of Astepro called Astelin which may stil be available to you, but the company is working to phase it out. Also a prescription strength antihistamine like Allegra might be a good idea. Feel better and hang in there.
Avatar n tn antidepressants, antihistamine meds) that can have sexual side effects. You can find a list of these meds at *************.
2114467 tn?1358210256 I would check with the pharmacist at the pharmacy that is supplying the Hep C medication. They should have a list of all of your meds. Even if they do not have a list, they should be able to tell you if Flonase is okay to use with Hep C meds. I would also check with your doctor. He/she should know about any meds you take. wwwdrugs.
Avatar f tn Hello, Skin rash and itching is a common side effect of Thiamzole and this itchy skin rash that your mother is having can be due to hives as a result of the side effect of this drug. For such hives, first of all the medication needs to be changed to some other drug. Then the primary treatment is by oral antihistamines. The most potent antihistamine, however, is probably the anti-depressant doxepin. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area.
1259580 tn?1269807353 However, keep in mind that even if they test a drug on a million people and one person has an issue that may or may be due to that particular drug, they have to report it as a possibility. Speaking from my own experience, it is absolutely worth the risk, especially if the alternative is permanent disability. Remicade will slow down or, if you're lucky, halt the disease progression and allow you to live a more normal life and carry on activities that are important to you.
Avatar n tn Yesterday, I asked: Can antihihistamine Eye Drops, enter your system through your eyes? While the question seems somewhat idiotic, I am highly allergic to antihistamines. They knock me out for extended periods of time, by making me lethargic, and extremely drowsy and sluggish. I used an antihistamine eye drop yesterday, and, shortly, had all the above symptoms. My question is simply, can one's system absorb antihistamines through the use of antihistamine eye drops?
Avatar f tn It's always a possibility, but call your pharmacist....any pharmacist. They can tell you for sure. Take care.
Avatar n tn I'm trying to figure out some odd issue I've run into. I've suddenly developed hives, except they come and go. However, each time they come back, they're worse, and they're coming back more often (per day). I am on an antibiotic and I'm wondering how you can tell if you're allergic to a drug. The hives appeared on the 5th day of taking the drug. I assume it's not the drug, but I am curious to know what other people think.
Avatar n tn It can be even easier than that. You could alway ask your doc to try free samples of Nasal Sprays for rhinitis, sinusitis. If it works than you know what it is. Then you need to figure out why it happens like if it is allergy or sinusitis and treat it more specifically if you want to. Once way to rule in allergy is antihistamine like Benedryl. If you take an antihistamine and it stops it's more likely rhinitis.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
1462810 tn?1327360449 I'm just getting over a severe drug eruption from Keflex (extent and condition made dermatologists at Duke's Dermatology Acute Care Clinic gasp). I suspect that it was eating foods new to me that I was allergic to that made the reaction happen - trying to get healthy, turns out I cannot eat seeds - sesame, sunflower, flax.
