How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.

Diphenhydramine hydrochloride (commonly sold as benedryl) is an antihistamine which makes patients drowsy, so is taken in higher doses at bedtime to make patients sleep. It is sold in 25 mg pills and as extra strength, 50 mg pills. I found a list of drug recommendations on the Janis & Friends site last year and it said that patients were allowed up to 200 mg per night while on IFN/ribivirin therapy and it's what I used for sleep throughout TX.

No, DO NOT give together! Temeril-P IS an antihistamine w/ a small dose of steroids included.....You don't want to give another Antihistamine (Benedryl) on top of that......

not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?

thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines? are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers? 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?

I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it

Ugh, I feel awful. My head is all stopped up and my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat making my throat ache and my head ache. I'm not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. I've got some halls cough drops which were also on my okay list. I was wondering is theraflu okay to take?

There are many other name brands for that class of medicine. Astepro is a nasal spray antihistamine. It stops the sinus cells from reacting to allergens. There are only two meds in this category. Astepro and Patanase. There is an older version of Astepro called Astelin which may stil be available to you, but the company is working to phase it out. I'm trying to figure out some odd issue I've run into. I've suddenly developed hives, except they come and go. However, each time they come back, they're worse, and they're coming back more often (per day). I am on an antibiotic and I'm wondering how you can tell if you're allergic to a drug. It can be even easier than that. You could alway ask your doc to try free samples of Nasal Sprays for rhinitis, sinusitis. If it works than you know what it is. Then you need to figure out why it happens like if it is allergy or sinusitis and treat it more specifically if you want to. Once way to rule in allergy is antihistamine like Benedryl. If you take an antihistamine and it stops it's more likely rhinitis.

I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low.
